The Fiesta downtown is on the level of say a Motel 6, basic, but all that is needed. Plus walking distance from DT bars for you and girls.

Well I giess the issue is whether the placs I would rather stay are chica friendly. I assume a $5 cab ride would be good from the nicer sleep joints to the place where the chicas writhe

After all, you may only need a Motel 6...but me....my last trip to Vegas I avoided Circus Circus and stayed in the Aria.

The Matamoros and Regis have been used by friends, no problems, but what is wrong with the Fiesta? Very central location.

Just to be clear, you're talking about parking in the City of Laredo pay lot near the duty free shop/toll plaza near below the dead mall, right? Not actually parking next to the hotel? If you park in the city lot, you'll have no problems, it is well lit and secure. I've left my car there for a few days at a stretch. Obviously you'll want to keep valuables out of site just like you would anywhere else, but you knew that.

If you mean down at the hotel, that's technically for hotel patrons only so they may tow your ass if you're not a registered guest.

I concur with SuperGato 100%.

The city lot is monitored, and well lit. They patrol every so often recording plate numbers to avoid lost ticket scams. So don't loose you ticket and think you are going to get out by paying a single $8 a day fare, they know how long the vehicle was there.

They can and do happen, they can spot a newbie 3 blocks away.
For safety never walk with a girl, unless you know her very well, some girls are just cop magnets, for various reasons, you walk with one of those, you will be hassled. Just have her meet you in your hotel lobby, they all know the hotels and the hotels know them, that is easiest and safest.
Stay in well lit well traveled avenues and you should be ok, but nothing here is 100% safe from the theiving bastards.

How is the chica selection downtown these days, see my prefernces below

There are some girls as you desire, not a lot, but Fridays and Saturdays are usually good.
BBJ is something to negotiate, some girls are easy and some aren't. Some, but not many, will even do BBBJCIM.

re: BT, cash in pocket. Would 1000 pesos plus some US be enough for a night. I assume you need to stash cash in the sock to keep the policia from grabbing it.

Girls downtown will quote anything from 300 pesos to $100, 400-500 pesos being the norm.
I have known guys to have their shoes removed by cops, it is not usual they will do that but sometimes they do. I wear double insoles in one of my shoes excess money goes in that shoe below the bottom insole, so I can lift the upper insole and show the shoe is empty, I have never had to do that tho.

Food. One of the joys of TJ is that Taco guy near Adelitas. Is the one in BT good? Any recs for food downtonw?

Many guys eat at the taco stand just outside Papaguyos in BT.
Downtown has several stands where guys and girls can be seen eating. (not me tho)

I'm planning on hitting NL on Valentine's night. How safe is it to park a car at the border by the Rio Grande River hotel? I'm assuming a car will be safe left there for a night or two but you never know. Also, any problems expected when walking across the Gateway Bridge and going to the Fiesta on foot? I'll be arriving around 8 in the evening.

Experienced in venues such as Tijuana, FKK and Thailand but my first trip to NL is coming.

Going to fly into San Ant. and get a car, with the 2 hour plus drive should be at the border by 4pm.

I have read the whole thread here and have a few questions:

I heard, from a driver, that these vans got "busted" last week. I am not sure to what extent, or even what "busted" means in this case. I will try to find out more. Driver says "Doc" got hit hardest and has stopped advertising via CB radio, I don't know, I am just reporting what I heard, from a driver friend.

If anyone knows more, or different, please let us know.

The little additional I have uncovered is that these services were busted by the city of Laredo, basically for shuttling people without the proper permitting. This, again, is just what I have heard.

Doing more research, it could, but probably won't, get more involved. Believe it or not, this is also a "Mann Act" violation. Federal no-no......

Hola Bbond, como esta? Thanks for the report/heads of the Pinche Pendejo Cabron Ratero Ladrones NLBT Policia. Their favorite MO-modus operandi of extorting a mordida-the old knife plant. I wonder if the Policia are using the same large silver hunting knife they planted in my truck back in 2007?

Were they in a personal vehicle-car/truck or in a taxi? I had bueno suerte in Reynosa BT last Saturday night with no hassles from the Policia or Bandido Thugs. Let me knock on some wood so not to jinx myself. I plan on going back to Reynosa BT in the future. Not sure when I will go back to NLBT. Reading this caca, not any time soon.

Well story continues, last night a friend took a newbie to NLBT, they got the knife plant, but only cost them $50 to get out of it. Sucks at any price.

They reported good finds in the door girl department tho, friend said was a couple new ones that provided excellent service.

I'll stick to downtown, prices range from 300 to 600 pesos, and very good selection. One of my regulars just left, she was a TLN, I gave her all the pesos I had with me, 327 to be exact. She wants to come back Saturday, medio dia, I'll be waiting.
