Laredo is not safe after dark, it has been like this for several years. Day time is ok, but get your stuff done and get out.

One of the girls that works in a bar in BT drove over to my hotel to see me last Saturday night. She was delayed by an hour due to a shootout near the airport. While in a taxi, I spotted at least 4 or 5 trucks with 50 cal machine guns on top. And they were not the soldiers. You also need to be wary of checkpoints that are manned by certain individuals that will rob you. This place is dangerous as hell.

Was planning a short trip down to NL this weekend when I saw some rumors on the internet that we may be looking at a military government in the US starting some time this week. Don't know how this is going to affect crossing the border, as they may try to keep certain people from escaping, but it's something to keep in mind.

They are definitely checking T. Visa driving into Laredo now. They are getting stricter by the day. No time to play around if you are driving or taking the bus. They were turning away cars today that did not have the correct paperwork. I would have a Dr. Note as well moving forward.

On side note. I crossed ped bridge but nobody there would give me the fmm. They said I had to go to another bridge so I said fuk it and ran the gauntlet. Made it to mty without the feds boarding the bus at the checkpoint.

I crossed over today. Taxi guy said about 2500 pesos. Luckily I hit my senda bus at 2 p and didn't have to wait till 330 p.

Df, if your in mty pm your number I can meet up with you during the day before I start plugging all these girls on my list. LOL.

On side note. I crossed ped bridge but nobody there would give me the fmm. They said I had to go to another bridge so I said fuk it and ran the gauntlet. Made it to mty without the feds boarding the bus at the checkpoint.

Awesome news. When I have passed the checkpoint the last couple of times, I have noticed they have had buses pulled over and were inspecting them. They are definitely getting stricter. I will be there next week, but everything depends on work. I will keep you updated.

Anybody done some dumb shit like take cab from NL to mty? I lost my cabbies number so I can't ask how much. Anybody got a guess? Anybody want to recommend a cabby?

If you PM me with details of your expected arrival time I can ask around. I do know some taxis that go to MTY, no idea what they charge nor the hours that they will consider traveling. Money is tight right now, so, out of necessity, some drivers may be willing to go that ordinarily wouldn't.

I have tried a few times usually, but they say no. You are looking at $150-200, Uber is much cheaper, but you probably will not be able to find a driver. I did take it one time from the airport in MTY to Laredo it was $100, with Uber. Good luck.
