This is a tad belated, but after reading some other reports I thought I'd comment. I was in Hidalgo for a couple days working. Decided to cross into Reynosa Wednesday night, Nov. 28th, around 7pm. Parked at the public lot close to the bridge and walked over. Walked up to the plaza to the BBVA Bancomer to get some pesos. I use that bank because my USA bank is BBVA Compass, so there are no ATM charges, just a 1% international transfer fee, so the exchange is decent. Walked over to the 7-11 at he corner of the plaza for some smokes. Milled around the plaza a bit to see if I got any offers and waited for a passing taxi. I grabbed the first one to beep at me, told him zona, boystown. In route I told him I was not new to this had been to BT several times but quite a while back. Upon arrival, I asked what I owed him, he said 30 pesos, only having a 50 note I told him to keep it. Paid the 20 peso entrance fee and made a quick tour. Most larger bars were either closed or empty. Stopped in the back corner bar near the entrance for a quick beer, decided that he place was gay so finished beer and made another tour. Several door girls working, looking good from a distance, but upon closer inspection there were few I would consider. Heavy make-up is a real turn-off for me. Decide on one on the very back row, her name escapes me, as does where she said she was from. Looked very young but said she was 25. Quote was 100 pesos. 100 more nude. 100 more CBJ. Gave her the 300, nothing really outstanding, probably would not repeat, but she did a decent job, lots of eye contact during the CBJ part. Probably my last trip to Reynosa BT for a while, believe it or not I am spoiled in Nuevo Laredo, I have lived there just over 4 years, and everything I want or need is right there.

I flew into Harlingen on Friday at midday. Drove over to the Hooters in McAllen for a bite to eat and a beer before driving down to the hotel in Hidalgo. There was a large convention going on at the State Farm Arena so traffic was much worse than normal with police all over the streets. On all the previous trips to Reynosa, I made a point of going during the daytime and leaving at sunset or shortly afterwards. For this trip, I wanted to see how the nighttime activities were different and the weather was still warm in the 80's so hoped that the darkness would help lower the temperatures in the rooms.

I crossed over around 5pm on Friday and walked to BoysTown. After paying my entrance fee, I noticed that Lipstick and all the clubs to the left were closed. Also looking up the street in front, I only saw 5-6 door girls and got nervous thinking Friday might be really slow. Walking down the main street, I saw a short, very tan girl in the doors to the right. I negotiated 300p for total service and entered her dark room with only a TV on. I finally was ready to hit the border around 9pm and for the first time, I took a taxi to BT. Every other trip, I walked down Aldama but this time I paid the $10 and took the easy way.

When I arrived and paid, I walked down the main road and saw what I had been searching for the past two trips. Nomi was working and free so I made sure she was the same girl I remembered from October and entered immediately. She is from Puebla and is thin with small breasts but large nipples, tan with long dark hair, and a nice personality. A total of nine unidentified shooters were killed and three armed suspects were detained in a series of shootouts between rival drug gangs and Mexican security forces early Saturday morning in the northern Mexican city of Reynosa, according to Mexican news accounts.

According to a news item posted on the website of Excelsior news daily, the initial gunfight took place between drug gangs on the Reynosa-Monterrey highway at the southern entrance to the city at about 0600 hrs Saturday morning. Four drug gang shooters were killed in that gunfight.

A subsequent confrontation took place in the Villa Florida colony with no one reported hurt.

Subsequently still, gunfights took place in the barrios Unidad Obrera, Granjas, Cumbres, Vista Hermosa, as well as Zona Centro of Reynosa. A total of five shooters were reportedly killed in that series of gunfights.

Later, drug gang members blocked several major thoroughfares in the city, using hijacked heavy vehicles.

According to an account published on the website of El Universal news daily, among the streets affected by the roadblocking campaign included Bulevar Hidalgo, the highway to Monterrey and streets in Balcones and Villas del Roble colonies.

An undisclosed number of weapons and munitions were seized by Mexican security forces.

At least five people were killed in three different shootouts Saturday morning in Reynosa.

Mexico City news chain Reforma reported three clashes in Reynosa on Saturday. Two of the clashes reportedly involved army soldiers, while the other involved state police and suspected drug cartel enforcers.

Five people were killed in the narco battles, with three arrests reported, according to Reforma.

Two of the shootouts occurred in Reynosa's Villa Florida neighborhood on the city's west side, near the highway that leads to the Anzalduas International Bridge. The shootouts reportedly closed the Mexican side of the bridge for an unknown period of time on Saturday.

Social media users reported widespread blockades, shootings and the bridge closing on Saturday.

One shootout left three suspected cartel members dead, while at least two others were killed in another confrontation.

Police made the three arrests during the confrontation that left one officer injured, according to Reforma.

Official sources would not confirm whether the Anzalduas bridge was closed.

Sounds like a pretty decent time and glad you found someone to hang with. Since you spend the night in a hotel, you may be in a different situation but maybe you can answer some questions. Here is my scenario, once I get to BT, I'm there in the compound for 2-3 sessions and don't usually do anything besides sex, drink, and walk. Is there somewhere close by that is safe and decent to eat? I see a few of the bars in BT have gas grills that they fire up and offer food to the door girls but every place I've been in just offers beer or liquor. Don't even know if I could ask for food in the few Spanish words I know. It would be nice between sessions to have a bite and would probably help rebound quicker for my next session if I wasn't sitting around just drinking beer.

If you do leave to eat, can you use the same 20 peso pass to reenter? I'm sure the security guy / cop would remember me due to the rarity of walking gringo's. But would gladly pay the 20 if needed to reenter again. I saw the 7-11 across the street from the entrance but would prefer something more substantial than a microwave burrito eating out front with the guys sitting on the curb.

A little late but here goes:

When I get thirsty or need some candy, or take a nap at the hotel, I walk where I went in, show them my $2 ticket and say "Seven Eleven, Manza Sol." And they say, most of the time in English "Yeah bro, I'll wave you back in." And I can vanish for three hours, even when I didn't really go to 7-Eleven and they stay true to their word. Done it many times.

Honestly, I haven't really seen any cafes within walking distance that are open at that hour. May have to get something to go at What-A-Burger before the bridge and leave it in the hotel mini-fridge.

Flew down Saturday morning to an overcast, wonderfully cool day. The pilot announced the temperature was 55 degrees and wind was gusting 20-30 miles per hour during the descent. The first stop after getting into the rental car was the mall where I had to purchase a sweat shirt and two long sleeve t-shirts since I had only brought hot weather clothes. Then wasted time watching college football at Hooters in McAllen before checking into my hotel and taking a quick shower.

He said the lot was full and it had been over an hour since anyone had left so it would be a while. He suggested I check the other lot down the street that runs in front of the duty free shops. Thankfully they had a few spaces open but I was really paranoid as most of the cars in that lot are busted up wrecks that appear to have been sitting there for years.

Crossed over with no fuss around 4:30 pm and actually made it through the gauntlet of taxi cabs without one yelling at me to ride with them. I did my usual routine of walking down Aldama and it was nicer than before due to the cool temps. Once I got to BT, stopped in the guard shack and attempted to pay 20 pesos for my pass but the guy wouldn't get off his stool and acted as if he didn't understand what I was asking. I finally said "look, if I don't need one, thanks, I'll spend this 20 on a cerveza." He jumped up, smiled, and said "calm down, I was only messing with you. Why don't you stay and teach me some English."

I headed down the main street to take the tour. Only 15 girls were present at this time. I saw some familiar faces but didn't see the hottie from last time (who I was really looking for). Finally decided on a taller girl on the middle perpendicular street. I came up behind her and using hand motions asked how much. She quoted cien and I laid a flat hand into my palm and she said si. Around 6:30, I decided to find my second and last session (I wanted to get back across shortly after 7 pm to watch the night college games). I walked the block again and about 30 girls were now working. I wasn't finding much to my liking so when I got to the doors behind Lipstick, I was just going to grab a taxi and call it a night. How to travel to BT from once in the Mexican side. First walk like if you are going to the Plaza or Calle Hidalgo. Then walk after the first street light to the next street, where there is a 7 eleven on the corner where all the city buses pass by. Wait there for a little while until you see a buss going to "PENAL 1", get on the bus, pay $7 or $8 Mexican pesos and the bus will take you all the way to the 7 eleven in front of BT. Keep an eye on the road and you can tell the bus driver when you want to get down. You will save money and also having to walk all the way to BT, and get there all sweaty. Hopefully it works for you guys of course if done during the afternoon the better since there are more buses going that way. On the way back is recommended to ride a taxi all the way back to the bridge.

I was in Reynosa 3 weeks ago on a Friday, and there were a few doorgirls since I got there around 4 pm. There were possibly around 20 girls like always some ok, I guess between 6 to 8, most of them 6. I tried 2 door girls and both of them were really good, one from Puebla, she charged me $350 pesos for everything nude, oral, regular sex and 2 positions, and another from Matamoros, charge the same except only 1 position.

Got a few production stalls attempting to head out Friday night, got into the Reynosa hotel at 3:30am Saturday morning. Walked into Boy's town with a dire motive to salvage at least 90 minutes. Some of my favorite doorway targets were out of town for that weekend. Did get together with a few new faces, not bad for the half awake state. Got the typical price plan of 100 pesos per item on ticket (blow, bang, nude, additional positions, etc)

The following day, we walked to the towns central plaza just to check out the day life. Got told, near the shopping streets theres bars too pick up women in the daytime hours that close at 11pm. Passed on that because I wasn't in the mood for bar scene pressure. At the plaza square, a man selling roses asked us in English if we wanted access to a cat house set up with younger women. Wasn't sure if it was [CodeWord908] or there was no cathouse and he was luring us into a kidnapping get up so I passed on that.

flew out of houston during some horrible thunderstorms saturday morning but when landing in harlingen, found the weather to be sunny and hot. wasted most of the morning and afternoon hitting different sports bars and watching college football. around 4pm, rain started pouring down in weslaco and was hoping it was a larger rain storm so that hopefully the rooms in boystown would be cooler but luck was not on my side. when driving down 10th st in mcallen, the bank temperature read 96 degrees at 6pm. the casa rates were 12. 5 saturday, down from the 13. 1 i got in july. traded $80 for 1000 pesos and had to argue with the clerk to give me smaller bills that the two 500 peso bills he was attempting to offload.

i parked at the lot past whataburger and crossed over. even though the temperature was hot, i did my customary walk from the bridge, down aldama, to boystown. i always ask myself when i have gone halfway, why didn't i take a taxi and then always answer, $10 for about a mile is outrageous. my kraut-mick pale skin and looks mean that i get stared at the entire distance and every taxi sets off their car alarm in a warning to everybody in the neighborhood. i had to find the guard at the entrance to pay the 20 pesos, he had stepped to the rear of the building and was talking to a taxi driver at the exit. as i turned in to the right, i was immediately accosted by a large, short, older lady who had been lying in wait in front of the striptease club. i gave several no, gracious's but finally just had to ignore her as she pleaded for my business.

i went into the first bar on the right on the street that runs parallel to the road that lipstick is on. this is probably my favorite place to drink even though it is not air-conditioned and hot as hell inside. the main reason is that they don't have any woman trying to get you to buy overpriced ficha drinks. grabbed a tecate light and when handing over 20 pesos was told it was 25. guess prices have gone up since july.

i headed back to the bar and switched to modelo to check the price, again quoted 25 pesos. this time i sat outside in the plastic chairs and the 3 locals that were there all left within 10 minutes. i suppose they didn't want to be seen with a gringo. the owner came out and sat after that and asked who i was, why come to reynosa, how many sessions i had. i asked him how business was going and he said bad. i asked if it was the heat or people's finances and he said both. i wanted to ask if it was the violence but didn't know how to approach the subject. he also said he opens mid afternoon and normally closes around 2 am.

a dark cloud started to come over so i figured i better grab another session before it poured down rain and walking around became hard. i saw two very decent possibilities but both were grabbed before i could get there (one was on the last street at the back and the other was across from the bar). i finally settled on a girl on the same street as the bar at the back corner. i walked up behind and asked to go in, only going off the sight of her body and not her face. once in the room, i realized bad mistake. she had a light lady mustache and a mullet type haircut. her room also didn't have a fan and was blazing hot. she offered the same $10 or 100 pesos. i paid 200 pesos in hopes that the extra money would session what i sensed would be bad.

p. s. centexcrash, i kept looking for someone walking around holding a gatorade bottle but never saw anybody to fit that description. the only gringo i saw the entire time drove up in a dark sports car with texas tags, pulled up to a door across from the bar, spoke to the girl through the passenger window, liked her offer, and locked up and entered her room. he was still there when i left.

REYNOSA — The Mexican army announced the rescue of a kidnapping victim after an early morning firefight on Monday where five gunmen were killed.

The firefight took place when a convoy of Mexican soldiers was patrolling the streets of Reynosa and they came under fire by an unknown group of gunmen, a Mexican army news release states.

The soldiers fought back killing 5 gunmen and rescuing an unknown man who had been kidnapped.

The military also seized nine assault rifles with ammunition magazines and round and one vehicle. The kidnapping victim and the bodies of the gunmen and the were turned over to state and federal authorities for further investigation
