This is a report from my first and last (at the moment) trip to Mexico DF back in 1998 during a banking convention in a hotel in Paseo de la Reforma, a place I still love in Mexico DF. Let's get to the point.

The convention ran as expected, lots of IT (information and technology) expos and bla bla bla. Visited a estetica when I was there last. I won't put the word here because it might get flagged but it's a synonym for violation. It's one of the better known ones there considered good.

I only carried cash, cellphone, and my own preferred condoms when I went here. I guess the dark environment does produce some concern, but I felt very comfortable with my stuff (my pocket does pretty deep and my cash is at the very bottom so someone has to really stick their hand in to grab it), and I typically have my cellphone in my hand. The basics as described previously:

80 peso entrance, beers are about 40 to 50 pesos depending on the exact beer, you can get shots of tequila or mezcal for 100 pesos, cabinas cost 50 pesos to the house to use, and the girls charge 800 pesos for their services, for 30 minutes.

I'm going to describe the place in greater detail, since it was something that I had hoped was available to me before going. When you go to the shop, initially you walk up the stairs into a small sex shop, it was a lot smaller than I expected. To enter to the area where all the action is, you go to the front desk, and they will accept the 80 peso fee for entrance, then you go through a door that is somewhat hidden by a rack of clothes / erotic costumes. Once you are inside, it is extremely dark! After a while your eyes will adjust, but it was very difficult for me to see anything in detail for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and I could barely make out the shape of the girls there. Once you're through the door, directly to the right of you is a small room that functions as a lounge and a small bar where you can order drinks. You will find a lot of guys and some couples just hanging out there.

The rest of the area is also pretty small. Consist of cabinas mostly, and there are some scattered benches and chairs where other customers and the girls sit around. The cabinas coming various sizes, but the smallest one is just a little bit bigger than a telephone booth, situated with a chair in the style that you would find in a movie theater where the seat flips up and down.
