Mexico City is a great destination that deserves far more that a weekend visit. It is the second largest city in the world with excellent hobby opportunities for all budgets, if you know where and how to look. There are far better hobby destinations and even within Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara are easier as they have many on site venues. The best daytime SW action is La Merced and I would never, ever recommend to anyone that they stay there or venture there after dark or even daytime on a lonely street.
