No problem taking cabs for me. I mean you don't look like a dollar sign gringo right Artist? Anyway it's really not much of a price diffference on most of the radio cabs versus regular ones, a buck tops on a trip. Personally I just don't worry about that kinda shit, I have a pretty good spider sense and I've never had a problem. And I have been more than retarded on occasion and, touch wood, have never had a problem any where in this vast planet earth despite being in some pretty insane situations!

The thing about cabs though is that because of traffic it often will take you longer than by subway, DF is really spread out. I semi know my way around and can make a decision based on that knowledge. How long are you thinking of going for?

Still no luck with the maps. One does open up but it is of the united states of all places and the other site still gives me a warning pop up. I will try another browser later.

I wouldn't grab a taxi in front of clubs or visible tourist haunts but calling all the time would be a chore. However eventually you will need one when the metro closes down. Otherwise I agree that the metro is the way to go. Avoid rush hour.

I was in DF last in 2004 pre ISG if you can imagine that. I am arriving on a one way ticket to guadalajara then will make my way over. No commitments on length of stay at all. Anywhere from 1 or 2 weeks would seem reasonable then maybe ship out somewhere else. One of the benefits of arriving on a one way ticket is you don't feel the pressure to plan so much.

* Do you take taxis when you are in mexico city ? There is no way I can call a radio cab all the time. I've been on the subway but that usually stops at 11pm. Is that still the same ?

I have come across such a list on one of the DF local foruns but damm if I can remember which one. It came complete with locations on a map, phone numbers everything. At the time it wasn't so useful to me because I had plenty of places that I visited regularly. I do remember that many of the locations still on the map weren't there any more. That's the thing, these places all move around a lot.

One that has been around for a long long time is Venezia Spa (I have reviewed previously a few times). It's current location on Xola a couple of blocks from Metro Etopia has been there for about three years, but the owners have been in the whoring business for decades and must be quite connected politically.

This year I went a few times based on having amazing times there last year but all the women had changed and it totally sucked, but you know this can change day to day and week to week.

There is another one that I had some good times in this year about 6 blocks the other way down Xola. I think the adress is 36 or 39 Division del Norte (it crosses at Xola).

Service was 400 if before 3pm if I remember and they had a good selection of 20 and low 30 year old mamacitas. All gave very good BBBJ which gets the gold star from me. One even rimmed me much to my surprise. Anywhere I go I always take a shower before and it usually improves mileage. And I ALWAYS let them know that I will leave a tip based on buen servicio, and I do.

Sounds like my kind of neighborhood. The low end brothels you mention in El Grafico is news to me although I am not surprised@150mx Beats Tijuana SG prices. So El Grafico lists the address and you just show up? What was your experiences with service?

No the street scene is not like Merced. More traditional, just chicks hanging out on corners and doorways. There is no 'pasarella' like in Merced if that's what you mean. Like I said it's not my scene.

As for the classifieds in El Grafico there aren't usually addresses, sometimes just a number and the nearest metro.

I have partaken in the cheap brothels a coupla times but prefer the incalls in the 600 peso range. Better looking women and better sex, it's more likely to find a diamond in the rough at that price level than the lower ones. Around three years ago I had a handfull of places at that level with lots of young (19-22) really sexy girls that gave great GFE. Sadly these places move around a lot and none are still there as of this Febuary.

Another paper with good adds is El Universal.

Yes Artisttyp there are quite a few all night stores in that area, as well as late night restaurants. It is a not touristy at all like Zona Rosa. It is a mixture of slightly seedy and family, muy chilango. Tons of great street food stalls.

I wore out a fair bit of shoe leather checking out many of the hotels and the best value IMHO is the Oxford, but you have to get a room facing the park or the street (a bit noisier) , not the air-less ones facing the interior. They do not take reservations (and it is popular) so best bet is to arrive early in the morning, drop your bags at the desk and come back later.

As you are a block from the metro you can get anywhere. There are also a few low end brothels within walking distance, advertised in El Grafico. The 150 peso places. And of course a smattering of street girls here and there. And just to add colour some of the ugliest transvestites I have ever seen. Mexican men just don't cut it as women.

La Tabacalera, the area around the Monumento a la Revolucion, has many hotels from 250 pesos to 700 and more. Used to stay at New York (about 500). Clean and no problem with bringing girls in. I used to see some SWs around the area, but usually called an escort. Close to Metro Revolucion.
