The Green Door opened its doors yesterday. Hawaii is still closed. The Door opened because it has a kitchen that can serve food, Hawaii doesn't have a kitchen. There were only 3 girls working there when I stopped by. The border still closed at 2 PM. USA Customs still don't know when the normal hours will return, maybe late October.

Jorge along with his brothers are owners and operators of the Green Door in Algodones. I would say the bars aren't going to open up as along as the border still closes at 2 PM.

Yes it still closes at 2 PM. I went to Jorge's house yesterday, and he wasn't home. His daughter said he was in Mexicali, and she hasn't heard anything different. According to La Cronica, Baja California is going to the Orange Level. That means a little looser restrictions for restaurants, churches, etc. Upon leaving Algodones, I chatted with an ICE officer friend, and she thinks it will be late October when the crossing times change, maybe. It depends on the situations and the ICE head administrator for the area as well.

I spent that night with a girl I used to see regularly at Hawaii. She told me that Hawaii won't be re-opening until January 2021. Seems to be most reliable source I've heard from. It sounds absurd but she was right when she said they postponed the original July 1 reopening so I don't see why she'the be wrong this time unfortunately.
