I read in article yesterday on KYMA.com (I couldn't find this morning to post the link) that the Mexicali health & police departments are going to be out in force this New Years Eve. The article said they would be fining people for non-essential travel into Mexico and making the vehicle's turn around. They are going to cover all the major access points and roving patrols. Apache, There's very little SG action at this time. You might find a few SG's around the Playboy club and hotels close by. Yes Mexicali is back into Red status. Best bet at this time is go to the BlackMgk Spa. It's near the the old border crossing. If you have Facebook, just search. Generally they have a good selection. I crossed into MXLI on Saturday night around 5 PM at Calexico West border. Crossed back on Sunday around 12 PM. No line either time. No problems crossing. Confirmed with CBP that border is open 24 hours.
