I am thinking about spending some time at El Miau Miau this time and trying to hit up those girls because I remember last time they were extreme hotties. Unfortunately, last time it was the last club I had went to so I had already blown my budget on previous clubs so I was not able to do anything other than watch the hotties in the club. This time I am going to go there first. This is why I though Hotel Reforma would be a good place to stay. I did find one post on here that said the price was 300 pesos per night but that post was way back in 2004 so I am not sure how accurate it is any more. I also may try to venture out to El Establo and Bar San Diego as I have never been to these places if I can find a solution to the transportation issue since I do not drive over the border and I do not speak Spanish so I would be probably be able to get a taxi to go up there but I would not be able to ask anyone to call a cab company or call one myself so I could get back as I do not speak spanish. If anyone here has ideas please let me know. In fact, if someone that speaks Spanish on here could post how you say "Can you please call a taxi cab for me" so I can print it and show someone there to read that would be appreciated. Thanks.
I always stay at Hotel Siesta Real on Justo Sierra. The rooms run about $55 per night and if you make up a name like Maria as the second person there is no problem bringing the girls there. It is centrally located. It has a great restaurant named La Chalet where hotel guests get a 20% discount.

It is in walking distance from Suite 69 (formerly the original La Mosca) and El Nido. Both are strip clubs equivalent to Miau Miau, Porkys, etc.

Taking a cab to other places is really simple. Every cab driver in town knows where Bar San Diego and El Establo are. And to come back, tell Castillo at bar San Diego that you want a cab. He speaks perfect English and can even help you with the girls there. The girls at Bar San Diego do not "ficha" in other words they don't make a commission on any drinks that you buy them and if you do buy them a drink it is the same price that you would pay for yours. These girls are there for only one reason. For this reason they don't bug you. They sit around in their groups and chit chat with each other. A lot of guys that go to Bar San Diego for the first time don't like it because the girls pretty much ignore them. You have to pick one out and ask her to sit with you or have Castillo ask her. The going rate is 200 pesos for half hour for the room (I have never had a knock on the door and sometimes I have been with a gal for more than an hour with no problem) and 500 pesos for the girl.

El Establo is my favorite place in Mexicali. Lots and lots of young good looking Mexican gals if you get there after 10 PM. They do "ficha" and make a commission on the drinks. Next to the front door there is a sign with the prices listed for 3 different time frames. It has been a while but it used to be like 800 pesos for 40 minutes including the room. At El Establo you find out the girl's name that you want to be with and then go to the reception of the motel and give the gal there her name and the money and she calls the bar and the girl comes to the room. You never pay the gal anything. You pay the whole thing to the receptionist of the motel. This has worked very well for me in the past. Sometimes I have entered and seen that the girl I wanted was with some guy at a table drinking. At other places you have to wait until she is done with him and if it is a good customer she could be with him all night drinking. At El Establo I just go to the receptionist and give the gals name and out she comes. And when all of the other bars in Mexicali close a 3 AM so does Bar El Establo, but the girls move out into the courtyard of the motel or into a special room that is part of the hotel if it is too hot or too cold outside and keep on working and you can keep on drinking and keep on taking gals to the rooms until 7 AM.

Once again a cab is easy from there. Most of the security guys outside speak English.

    Good luck on your trip!

    Lucerna

I actually stayed at Lucerna once but I was in Mexicali for different reasons. I do not remember it being close to BSD but it probably is. You are right, it definitely is upscale. It is a 5 star hotel. Either that one or the Crowne Plaza is the best, most posh in town but you will pay for that.

Lucerna is a high end place with an 800 US number. If you stay there say your wife is joining you later. Otherwise you may encounter problems and ask for 2 keys. Staff will get it. Excellent restaurants and good buffet breakfast.

    Hotel Reforma

It is a converted hotel from a hospital. Rates vary from 24 hour rate to quickie. I used to stay there, some parking albeit limited and rate is cheap. Noisy as bars and much street noise. If into cheapie places it is cheap and relatively clean.

Sure you can. Just ask someone at your hotel to call for you. People are very helpful down there.

There are several ways to ask for what you want. One of the ways you might want to put it is :

Por favor me puedes llamar un taxi para ir a un bar se llama. El Establo. Or fill in the blanks. Tambien puedes preguntar cuanto me van a cobrar " Also can you ask how much will they charge me". You will need an address though.

Lots of way to say it. This is just one way to ask.

IMO you should gather all this info prior to going and have it written down on flash cards. You can't go wrong that way. Let us know how it goes.

If you want to stay in El Centro trust me when I say choices are limited. Bring your own sleeping bag. Some of these places look down right gross from the outside.

No idea about Hotel Reforma. Sorry.

I Am Planning A Trip To Mexicali Soon, Please Let Me Know If You Want To Tag Along

I am not sure when yet but I am planning a trip to Mexicali fairly soon. It will be on a weekend before the end of the month, possibly even this weekend. I plan on spending a night at the La Chinesca hotel leaving the morning of the next day. I live in Tempe, Arizona (suburban Phoenix) as you can probably tell by my handle. If you live in the Phoenix area or somewhere in between like Yuma or something and are interested please let me know. The only thing I would expect from you is maybe a little money to help pay for gasoline. I drive a very fuel efficient vehicle that gets about 30 miles to the gallon so it should not be very much. I usually do not drive into Mexicali, I park at the AA parking lot and walk in going to places within walking distance of the border (The zona, Miau Miau, Chaoz etc). I am thinking about though taking a taxi this time to either El Establo or Bar San Diego so if you are interested in that maybe we can split the cost of taxi cab fare. I do not like dealing with Mexican Auto Insurance (added expense and I have read reports that it is worthless) and I do not speak Spanish so I would not be able to read the traffic signs. I drive a fairly new vehicle that is sort of flashy and sporty looking so it would stick out like a sore thumb there and is almost an invitation for police to bother me. I also can not risk driving without insurance down there because the car is financed and still has decent value so if it was stolen I would be in deep shit. Please let me know if you are interested.

    Sub Categories

You know, If Jackson is reading this, I think it would be useful if the different Mexican cities could be subdived into different acitvity categories on this forum for like maybe strip clubs, brothels, street walkers, the zona etc. Sort of like what is done on the USA Sex guide. I just wanted to offer my idea.

Excellent map 2nd chance. This will save us a lot of time. Hope to go to Mexicali on 3-15.

    Thanks

It's hit or miss w / EGN. 150 peso bar fine. 450 for the girl (1hr). I recommend asking for Pedro and give him a 50 peso tip if you leave with one. Tell him "spiderman's friend" sent you. He'll take good care of you if he has hot girls that night.

El Gato Negro, El Establo or BSD?

I haven't been in Mexicali for about 6 months but have to be in El Centro in a couple of weeks. I have has so-so experiences at BSD and good experiences at El Establo in the past. Never tried El Gato Negro. Which has the best action and girls currently? Anyone have any recent experiences?

    Thanks!

Finding your way when cell signal / Google Maps are not available

In a recent post from another thred, there was mention that they had trouble finding their way around because they could not access google maps because they had no cell reception. I have an android phone and the Google Maps application allows me to "cache" maps for offline use. You can pre-download maps for the area you are traveling to and access them offline. I usually turn my cellphone to Airplane Mode, and leave the GPS on.

    * For iPhone users, there is a tutorial at this link:

    * For Windows 7 phones, there is a tutorial at this link:

    * For Android, there is a tutorial at this link:

Android users: If you need "other" maps, like topographical or aerials, consider purchasing BackCountry Navigator. You can download free offline maps, as well. There are maps for almost every place on this planet!

If you are familiar with the Google Maps I created, you can download all the locations in a single KML file, then import them into BackCountry Navigator.

Here's a link to my Google Map:

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...d356601aa1ffbb

Pretty cool and a fine value for only $10. I use this a lot for hiking. 4-wheeling, and street navigation, when no cell signal is available.

    Good luck and happy mongering!
