Yep, I am living the dream. I love MTY. I will be back Jan. 30th, I am leaving tonight. My plan is to go back work 10-12 days in Austin, then come to MTY 3-4 days, this will be the schedule for the near future. When things finally get back to normal I plan on making a trip to Tijuana.

The lockdown is killing me! Even the Oxxos are closed now on Sundays. Pharmacy are open and you can get gas that is it. I had cancelation last night but I made managed to get another girl to meet me at the Rest. , and she came over to the Hotel after. Good experience, but I was tired. When I was in Monterrey in November, the boats of the Paseo Santa Lucia were operating and that's how I got to the Parque. The Wi-Fi is definitely less than ideal. I found that the signal strengthened and weakened depending on where I sat in my room. If all you need the Wi-Fi for is to send and receive WhatsApp messages or to make telephone calls, it serves its purpose.

As a side note to everyone else, I was actually going to return to Monterrey for the last week of January. United Airlines had a round-trip fare for $458 and I made a reservation at Hotel Krystal Monterrey again. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to secure the time off from work, I returned to the United Airlines website and the fare had jumped to a ridiculous $768 (and their planes for the itinerary are empty). I promptly canceled my hotel reservation and instead will put the money towards some additional home improvement projects. I'm not shedding any tears, since as of January 26, passengers flying into the United States (yes, even Americans) will need to have a negative COVID test no more than three days before their return flight in order to board their flight to return home. That new CDC rule would have gone into effect while I was in Monterrey and I haven't yet seen where Americans in Monterrey can get a COVID test. Perhaps one of you will find out and let us all know.
