Correct the Strip Clubs suck in MTY, bad area of town, run down, a major disappointment. Online and street game is what works in MTY.

Unlike my man Zygomatic, (AKA the Budget Dude), I can only handle MTY for short periods of time, no way I could live there. I Like the girls and San Pedro, but that is about it.

Dramafree11 LOL, so in an effort to try to blend in better with the street people in Monterrey, I went to a few goodwill here in San Antonio to look for some jeans and found nothing so I went to a used clothing store called platos closet and found a pair of nice jeans and nice cargo shorts but instead of finding some pants that would blend in better with the street people of downtown Monterrey, I found pants and shorts that were much nicer than my old Levi's which are in themselves very nice. Oh well, I am saying screw it to trying to blend in and am going to pack my suite case with what feels more comfortable to me and for shoes I will take my sketchers LOL which for Monterrey are very high end. As of recent, I have been finding some really nice big booty girls at the spas so if my attire attracts to much negative attention where street girls hang out I may just focus more on the spas.

I can confirm that all what you said about street girls is not true but it's better for me that you think that way to be honest with you. The street game is more for locals than it is for foreigners so I will not bother going into details about it. I will not give you my harsh opinion about the strip clubs in Monterrey just that it is a know fact that there was a massacre at the Matehuala club where a bunch of people died but I cannot tell you when exactly that took place. Also, from what I can see at those clobs, the quality of the girls has gone way down since I used to go to the strip clubs in Monterrey. Maybe after a few beers the girls start to look better in that dark environment but to each his own.

Plaza Arteaga is within walking distance to Matehuala which is the only strip club in town I go to now. The owner of Matehuala also owns Matehualita, Matehuala II, El Cielo and El Ancla. They all have the same setup and are all within centro. There are VIP rooms at Matehuala that cost 400 or 500 pesos depending on the room. They're real basic but you get privacy if you're shy about going to the privados. The rate for the girl to go into VIP is 1000 pesos.

I heard the migrants work the streets and that's not something I'm into after trying a few times some years ago. They'll take you to an empty floor in a building and you do the deed on an old and dirty mattress without any air conditioning and they can't even shower afterwards.

I like to have fun in the teibols; meet the girls and get phone numbers from the ones who I have chemistry with. They all will go to your hotel room on their days off or after work. Hourly rate for dancers / escorts is about 1300 pesos; 1. 5 hours around 1600. You'll need to pay for a room; 3-hour rate for Hotel Hacienda and Arteaga is around 250 pesos.

Plaza arteaga is in the proximity of the old red light district and my old stomping ground and even while people say that the old red light district is dead, I know for sure that it is very alive and some of the same spas that were open 15 years ago are still open today. That area, I believe, is also where immigrants from more southern countries south of Mexico work as sex workers and prices are more accommodating for the budget monger, AFAIK. It's good to know that you also live in San Antonio. I will be in mty in two weeks for an entire 2 weeks vacation. Do you go to spas also or do you prefer escorts? How about the strip clubs?

I've stayed at both Hacienda and Arteaga and have walked around both areas at night. Hacienda is a little more tranquil only because there are fewer people in that area at night. Arteaga is in a busier area of centro but I've never felt threatened or unsafe in that area.

I don't think people pay attention to anyone walking around. I'm Asian so I stand out even more than you do but I've never had a problem. I find most people in MTY are nice and welcoming.

BTW, I'm from San Antonio too and I've been driving to MTY for years. If you have any questions about driving across the border, PM me. I can point you in the right direction.

I have a couple of questions that have been haunting me for some time now and as I get closer to my vacation I was wondering if any of you can give me some advice on how to handle myself during the uncertain times that relate to what I am about to note down.

1. Does anyone have any past experiences when dealing with venturing out of your hotels after dark and would you have any advice for me or my situation?

Safety first, I would not walk around central MTY by myself at night. Probably will be fine, police everywhere. Just take Uber $2-3.

Hell no walking around Laredo at night, not even early evening.

LOL yea I agree Dramafree11, there are a few new spas operating without city permits and they are all under the same management and all 3 have separate whatsapp numbers and all 3 are very cheap and beautiful girls. I can easily call and set something up with them through what's app. They usually stay open until 8 or 9 pm. So Uber will work great.

Which best western are talking about?? I know the Best Western Plus Royal Courts is Girl friendly. I have stayed there several times, never an issue. It's in San Nicolas. I'm not sure how far it's from DT.

I'm talking about the "Best Western Plaza Monterrey" Av Francisco I. Madero 250 Ote, Centro, 64000 Monterrey, N. L. , Mexico.

The hotel across the street can go by 2 names, the first name is Hotel York and has Restaurant York in the first floor of the hotel. The second name is Hotel 5 a. Avenida which is the name that shows up on google maps. Hotel 5 a. Avenida is such a great location. There are spas and more restaurants that are comfortable for the lone traveler plus its right on Madero in walking distance of about 10 to 15 spas. I have all those spas pinned on my google maps. We should meet up sometime when you decide to go to MTY. I am Latino too and I plan on going to MTY at least once or twice per month one weekends. I am Latino and when I used to go to RIO I used to get "the local rate". I have never been to a spa in MTY and don't even know where any of them are.

Hotelai, as of yet I do not know if hotel 5 a. Avenida is girl friendly. It's right across the street from the best Western which is girl friendly so it will be interesting to find it. It's basically a cheaper alternative to best Western but I hear that people smoke inside the rooms. I will look into it during my two week vacation that is coming up for me in a couple of weeks. I can tell you that the spas appear to be charging me like 100 or 200 more pesos than what the locals pay, even after I show them the promotions they run on what's app or Twitter. I guess that means that I am being charged what Americans have to pay for the same service. I told myself that I will not talk to much anymore because that usually gives away my American accent.
