WTF is the problem. He concentrates all of his effort on the lowest of the low in Monterrey. Hell, if you restrict yourself to only spending 100 pesos for BJs or FS, then what can you expect. I can get the same service for about $20US in my home town from the crack *****s in our own US ghettos, but I would never contemplate that kind of experience just because it is cheap.

I know I may be critical of the Monterrey scene, but we all know I am a perfectionista for GFE to the "inth" degree. So, my comments are based upon my own "continous improvement criteria." I am not nearly as down on Monterrey as my more recent commentary might suggest, certainly not to the extent of the notorious poster to whom I refer.

For the life of me, I can not figure out how a guy can visit Monterrey, spend the money to travel, the cost of hotels, etc...then, to avoid the low end clubs we have recommended, and to refer to the patrons in them as "Rancheros." I have never, in five years, scene more than a handful of really unruly individuals in these clubs. I have only witnessed the bouncers remove a handful of individuals who were causing problems...and that is over five years of visiting these same clubs. Where does he get this description that the clubs are full of "Rancheros?"

I respectfully submit that the reporting correspondent's commentary with respect to the quality of experience that can be had in Monterrey is totally and completely off the mark. I don't recognize any of the club names he reports on as being worthy of my visiting them. I have heard the names he reports on, certainly, but they are not clubs I would frequent. Why is he only naming clubs that are not part of the main stream Monterrey experience in his reports?

It is hard to imagine that this same individual has experience traveling all over Mexico, and compares the delights of Monterrey as though they were the bottom of the barrel. I submit that this individual is lost...He could have had an absolute blast in Monterrey. Oh well...to each his own.
I think you're being a little harsh on the guy. He was certainly enthusiastic about trying to get laid, but unfortunately a little undereducated about how to go about it. It's easy to tell somebody they should have read TFF, but sometimes the real info gets buried a bit with a lot of chatting back and forth between members. I think it's great that there's camaraderie here, but if you really wanted to find the nuts and bolts about how to get well laid in MTY, the info is a bit diluted. USB, your "Monterrey 101" type posts fill a useful info gap in that regard, IMO.

As for his uneducated opinion spewing, well I'm sure several of us were chuckling a bit about his posting style. But I just took it as a bit of a blowhard that finds himself a bit self-important on the internet, something very common in forums like these. People that would rather talk than listen. When they have little to no experience about what they're talking about, it certainly does sound a bit odd to those that know better.

But I think his reports were valuable as to what a first time visitor to MTY with limited advance information might see there. No real need to bash him over it.

At least my Thai girl still loves me...

Carlos is going to kill me, but...I feel the urge to...BASH MEXICO!!!

I have been waiting for some text messages from my "Angel Girl" in Monterrrey, just to determine if she is sincere or full of baloney. She texts me pretty regularly with short two word sentences, usually in mis-spelled Spanish, or wildly mis-spelled English. Lately, she has been irratic in her messages to me, sometimes seemingly texting me at very late hours of the day, at times that seem as though she is distressed about some aspect of her life. It seems like she is somehow getting comfort texting me when she is troubled.

It is kind of frustrating because she pledges her undying devotion to me, verbally, physically, and through her relatively frequent text messages, but not enough to satisfy my needy ass. And, like all Mexicanas, she is short on promises and long on delivery, sometimes...I should not be that hard on her. She is really a sweetheart, and I truly believe that she has strong, legitimate feelings for me, as I sincerely do for her. But, DAMN, I wish Mexicanas were a little more like this...

Case in point. I have not seen my Thai Girl favorita now for probably two years, but I do hear from her occassionally via text message. So, this morning, thinking I would just find out what my Thai girl is up to because I am contemplating a return to the Land of Smiles, I sent her a text message, just asking how she is doing, just a one liner, and I signed my name at the end of the message. I know it seems like I would be bringing sand to the beach by hooking up with my Thai girlfriend when there are so many others to be conquered, but I have a real desire to see her...and you will read why below.

    Anyway, this morning...

Literally, within moments of my texting her, she answers my text with a huge deluge of things, questions about what have been up to, comments about her life going fine, things about what she is doing, where she is living, etc...and in pretty decent broken written english at that. And, remember, it is about 7pm in Thailand during the time I sent my message to her.

Four years ago, this girl did not speak any English. That is a huge testiment to her ability to learn from probably the multitudes of Farang she has known in her life as a Pattaya bar girl.

I met her about 4 years ago in a Go Go Club in Pattaya. She was a dancer, and had been on the job for a couple of months, maybe 6-8 weeks maximum. She was about 20 years old, and was a really cute Asian spinner, dancer qualtiy, etc...It is evident from her text this morning that her English has come a long way. Well, when I was in Pattaya, she asked me to buy her an English course book, which I did from the bookstore on Beach Road...who knows, maybe she has studied it and not necessarily learned English from her probably thousands of clients...NOT. :-)

Anyway, I don't want to sound like I am Mexicana bashing again, but this just goes to illustrate the differences between the Thai girl, "Asian," GFE, and what I am experiencing as GFE in Mexico. My "Angel Girl" has come the closest to any of my best GFE encounters worldwide, but even she leaves something to be desired in the followup department.

It isn't that she lacks anything necessarily when she is in the process of delivering the goods in person, but with respect to followup. All Mexicanas are seemingly electronically challenged, technologically ill-equiped, lacking money that even a comparatively poor Thai girl has available to re-charge her cell phone with minutes, or simply neglectful of maintaining relationships that they themselves wish to promote, even if they are only able to do so via text or email when I am not in Monterrey.

Furthermore, compared to the Thai girl...The Thai girl still has the same cell phone number from four years ago. The average Mexicana bar girl seemingly can not hold onto the same cell phone for more than a few months, either having to buy a new one because it has been stolen, or because they've lost it. And, the Mexicanas do not even have the experience or knowledge that they can renew their old number, maintain all their old contacts, even after their phones are lost or stolen. See, they just lack all experience when it has anything at all to do with technologico electronicos.

That's another thing, the Mexicanas don't seem to email shit, they don't have email addresses, they aren't familiar with how to use email...Crap, most of the Mexican bar girls I know are not even remotely familiar with computers period. But, the Asian girls are frickin glued to computers, usually answering emails with impeccable timeliness.

I mean, here is a Thai girl that I have been with a few times, usually several days at a time, over several separate visits, over the course of two-four years ago, but communicating between the two of us numerous times over the years. We have developed kind of a friendship in addition to the mongering elements of our encounters. We did have quite a bond between us, and I believe more of one than what might be typically experienced, but even if that is a totally dilusional perception on my part, she still is far superior to playing her GFE roll than any Mexicana I have ever met, bar none, and with very little anticipation that I will ever be back to see her again.

On many occassions over the past four years she has stayed in touch, never asked for anything, never prevailed on our friendship for money, etc...Of course, when in Thailand, I paid her the going rate. But, she always went out of her way, sometimes even with respect to covering some geography to make sure she saw me when I came to Thailand.

I remember one time arriving at the airport in Bangkok, and not really expecting her to be there. She had been walking the airport for hours, waiting for me to arrive because she wasn't sure what time I would be there. When I finally did arrive, she actually saw me from afar, followed me all the way through the airport, not really sure she recognized me from last time because it had already been about 2 years since I saw her, and I had lost a little weight as well.

I remember standing at the taxi counter downstairs in the BKK airport, and when I turned around, there she was, standing looking at me, wondering if it was me that had finally arrived. She looked exhausted, almost like a deer in the headlights. She told me she had been there at the airport for six hours. She did not know a flight number, a time of arrival, nothing except the date I was supposed to arrive. She had traveled up from Pattaya, probably by bus, which is probably at least a 3-4 hour ordeal coming by bus, and she had dutifully waited for me in the airport, just on the off chance, hoping I would arrive.

I was stupified!!! I just called out her first name, "On"? in total disbelief that she was there.

I was dumbfounded. I didn't expect her to actually be there because I had never confirmed anything with her. When I saw her, I just could not believe my eyes, how she had come all the way up from Pattaya on the off chance that she would find me in the airport on a day that she only believed I might be arriving.

Guys...nothing has ever compared to that kind of persistent GFE kind of endeavor, not anywhere else in the world, and certainly not in Mexico. The Mexicanas could learn a thing or two with respect to GFE, followup, etc...from the Asian girls. This kind of thing happens in the PI as well. As it stands now, my Angel Girl lives two hours from Monterrey, and she has difficulty making it to meet me. Get the comparison? But, in all fairness to her, she does have a young son, and a sick mother, and supposed numerous responsibilities that keep her tied down. So, I guess I should cut her some slack. I will cut her some slack because she is special to me, even if she does sometimes disappoint me a little.

This is not bashing my girl in Monterrey, but I would dearly love it if she had the persistence, discipline, technical education with respect to email, and the organizational skills of my Thai girl. Maybe I can get my "Angel Girl" to take lessons from her. Or, I don't know, maybe I need to take a vacation from Monterrey and revisit Thailand for a reprive from the typical Mexicana routine.

    Los Legendarios???

    Hey Money69,

Do you remember directions to Los Legendarios? I will put it in my PDA and check it out next time I am in Monterrey...or, Carlos, are you familiar with it, and can you advise it's location/address?

I had always heard that the El Al Restaurante, just a small hole in the wall, all-night diner, on Madero, East of Juarez, a couple of blocks on the South side of Madero, was a decent place to eat.

I had recent occassion to take a new girl there, and...

I had actually taken at least one girl there in the past, and at the time, it seemed ok. It is just a greasy spoon kind of place, but one that came recommended.

But, this last time, I took my new girl from the new Givenchy there around 2am. She was unfamiliar with it, and there really weren't too many other places open to take her at that hour of the morning. So, we went there for lack of other options that were close to my hotel. Anyway, she ordered a dish, and began eating it. For several minutes she ate, and eventually she started to pick through the food.

She then told me this food has hairs in it!!!

She moved some of the food around, pulling hairs out of the food with her fork to show me, pretty damned many hairs too. Anyway, I felt kind of bad about bringing her there, but realized that we had very few other options at that late hour. She did not hold me "responsible," but perhaps that contributed to her relatively sour deameanor.

This is the girl that I referred to in my former post as having a kind of sour attitude, which I mostly noticed at the restaurant...Her attitude wasn't necessarily directed toward me, but I suppose her disgust at the quality of the food understandibly yielded a sour disposition.

Toward me, in the room, she displayed some potential. But, I think we will have to make friends first. I will have to become known to her before this one will give up the GFE. So, perhaps if things work out in the future, she will be one of my other "options" in Monterrey.

    Walking is no problem...

    Hola Watcher50,

With respect to the Prestige, your descriptions of most of the girls is totally accurate. It is one of the reasons that I commented that I am not particularly fond of the girls working the high end clubs. They think their "shit" does not stink, and that they should get paid top dollar for it. I am known to most of these girls, if not personally, then certainly on sight. And, I have gotten to know just how rotten some of them really are, and how disingenuous their motives are, even if you are nice to them.

You know, I realize they are there to make money, and that they are probably not the highest calibre individuals personally, but some of them are downright mean in their daily existence, and many of them are simply too in-love with themselves to ever yield anything that I would ever really desire of them, not even if they were buck naken spread out on mi cama. Some of them are just not "good people."

Frankly, I feel that the attitude from them has perhaps gotten worse over the last five years, but maybe it's because they know I will not spend any money with them, and because I actually know them. Carlos and I are fixtures in the Prestige and Obsession, and while Carlos does patronize some "nice" bad girls in these clubs with a moderate number of drinks, I generally choose just to do a hit & run at the buffets, opting instead to save my money for clubs like Infinito, El Cielo, and even some of the medium level clubs like Pasarelas or Harem. I have always found the girls in the high end clubs to be high on promise, just to sell you drinks or privados. The girls rate very low on delivery, and they are virtually worthless for GFE, or any other action outside the bars. If you patronize them at all with respect to privados, it will generally cost you what I pay for a full blown salida back at my hotel for four to six hours.

With respect to walking in Monterrey, I recommend...

You can take a taxi to Madero and Vilagran from CP, walk South on Vilagran from Madero and be perfectly safe. I have done so up to 4am, all night long between the clubs, never to have encountered a problem, none what-so-ever. There is always a first time, so be careful. But, I have just NEVER sensed any danger walking in the area. I have literally walked from Vilagran up to 10-12 blocks to the East and never, ever encounter even a hint of any danger, and that goes for between the hours of 8pm to 4-5am in the morning.

Walking the area where you have the gauntlet of clubs such as El Infinito, the "new" Givenchy, which is now located immediately North of El Infinito, Tangalay, and Parthenon, the clubs are so closely concentrated that you will just merely walk between them. There are several more clubs along Vilagran, all so close that you will have to walk to them, places like La Cava, to the South of El Infinito on Vilagran, and a few more "lowest of the low" along this gauntlet of clubs as well. I don't frequent many of the lowest of the low, so I don't really recall their names, but they're contained in the gauntlet along with the others I've mentioned...so knock yourself out...have a blast!!!

You can walk from the Vilagran area, where the gauntlet of clubs is located, to another club I recommend, to El Cielo, which is located two blocks North and approximately 1000 feet to the East from El Infinito, on Arteaga. Then, you also have the Matehuala, which is located three blocks North to Madero, and two blocks to the West of El Infinito, on Juan Alverez, visible from Madero and Vilagran if you look toward the Northwest side of Madero from Vilagran.

There is at least one other club that might be pretty decent too that's within walking distance, but I don't recall the name. It is walkable from El Cielo if you get over that way on foot. It is on the block immediately to the East and South of El Cielo, less than one block away from El Cielo. I think that club has some potential. I was in there one time, and thought that it had a few good girls in there, but I haven't really been back there to check it out thoroughly. I have been past there a few times as I make my normal rounds, and it always seems to be pretty busy with patrons, a good sign.

Carlos, do you remember the name of that bar?

I have literally walked from El Infinito to Extasis, which is six blocks to the East of El Infinito on Carlos Salizar, and to my hotel, which is 10-12 blocks to the East of El Infinito, as late as 4-5am, but usually in that instance I stick to Madero, which is very well lit.

I generally try to stick to Madero if walking long distances because some of those side streets get pretty dark at night. But, regardless, I have still walked some of them late at night, and never felt threatened. But, you know, things can change, if not in a heartbeat, then gradually over time.

There has been increased incidents of violence in Monterrey over the past several months, mostly due to the drug cartels, but nothing I can detect with respect to increased street crime in the area you are wanting to walk around.

But, potential for violence on the streets can sometimes change very gradually to the point where areas that were once safe to walk are no longer safe, and the reality creeps up on you. I don't sense that being the case at all in downtown Monterrey, but I believe that if and when it does occur, the transition may be so gradual that one may not really notice that things are getting more dangerous. So, just be aware of your surroundings and use your best street smarts.

I will not probably return to Monterrey until June, and unfortunately, we'll miss our opportunity to meet on this trip. I am tentatively looking at returning perhaps around June 16th to the 23rd. Have a great time!!!

Is the Vilagren area walkable from CP? I have walked both ends of the park with the government buildings and the pedistrian shopping area. Walking a mile is no big deal. It seems to be doable on the map, but I haven't been to that area. Is it safe to walk to? I can't wait to see all the chica bars!

    Visiting Mty

    Hello everyone,

I am visiting MTy for the first time, and I wanted to find out more about the Massage Places. I saw that earlier on this thread, you were talking aobut Verssaces and others, but that was a few years ago.

I want to know which MP is better now, and what is the going rate?

I also so online a place called Misses. Do you know anything about that one?

    Thank you,

    Turista (from Oregon, USA)

As you know Carlos, I am not particularly thrilled with the girls, and were it not for the buffet, I would probably never return there. That says something about the girls...but, the buffet stands on it's own.

I always recomend it... international cuisine.

After that, you have to move to the Colonia del Valle area for all the good ones.

Seafood: Muelle 17 (any of both locations).

Chinese: Mandarin or the Chinese Express (AT COLONIA DEL VALLE... don't accept the clones at San Jeronimo Ave.

Regional: Deli norteņo tacos (good, believe me, not a taco stand) El Papalote.
    Regional high class: El Granero.

Local and good: El Rey del Cabrito.

Local and best: El Gran Pastor.

Red Meats (tons): San Carlos and Mirador (under renovation, but open)

Give me an idea of what you are looking for.. be glad to help.

And the local scene... well yes!! Unspongebob has taken care of ALL my chicas... am with out ONE!!!!!

No seriously... tell us what you are looking for..... dunno what are your preferences....

Just one thing to point out: CP is NOT girl friendly.
Twice now I have tried to reply and it doesn't show up. Anyway, Thanks to both CP and USB for the help. Yes, the local Mexican restaurants, nice, but not too nice are what I am interested in. Argentinan sounds good too. Where is the zone you refer to. Mapquest is no good unless you kow where to look. Thanks again to both of you.

Yes USB is right... forgot to mention El Gaucho too.

And no... I don't think Watcher meant restaurants as to include the Prestige's lunch buffet....
I forgot to mention El Regio an El Tio as local restaurants, but their glory days are long gone.
At the htoels they will always recomend El Tio... maybe because they get kickbacks or they have comercial exchanges between businesses, but they do send guests there. Not that it is bad, but as I said, there are better places now elsewhere.

and, then, if he likes conventional buffets, i am partial to los generales as well. not to mention the sirloin stockade which is far and away better than their counterparts in the us for reasonable casual dining. there may be a better los generales, one better than the others in town, but i don't know which of them to recommend.

with the exception of el gaucho, which has a "higher end" kind of motif, the other recommendations are casual, relatively modestly priced.

and, carlos, you owe me a visit to a good taco stand too. lets see, based on your list, this deli norteņo tacos looks appropriate.

why then, wasn't it you that was insisting that i eat at the taco stand outside of el infinito &%$*#$*(not) :-)))), just kidding.

and with respect to girls...i choose to hang with just one, while simulataneously searching for other options. and, with that in mind, i only took one of your girls. and, don't forget, you originally stole her from me. afterall, my "angel girl" was mine first, two and a half years ago. i can't think of a second one...well, maybe "v" at the harem, but i thought you were kind of through with her anyway...i can't think of any others that i may have "charmed" away from you. ohhhh, and what about angry girl, you have charmed her into some kind of potential for you. just don't make her "angry," verdad?

have you been back to see my girl at the new givenchy to assure her that i will be returning someday, uhhhhhhm? seriously, perhaps you have come across her. she is kind of an angry girl stand-in. same kind of high school body, except a little more meat on her bones, and the meat is seemingly in all the right places. she reminds me of angry girl because the first time i met her, she was wearing a baseball cap, and had that little pony tail sticking out from behind, kind of like angry girl with her caps and scrunchies. have to work on her sweetness though.

i haven't dreamed up a name for this one yet. she had this distinctive attitude that probably had more to do with her not particularly liking to be a hooker, that kind of thing. i just sensed that she is kind of mildly pissed off at life. not really a very happy disposition. i have to work on changing that. or completely dump her...i haven't decided which. go find her carlos, and tell me what you think. she works the night shift at givenchy, and when i found her, she had only been working a few weeks.

ya' know...some girls always give you that line...that they have only been working a few weeks...but, with me, they can't lie because i have been there since some of them were just out of [CodeWord131] :-)

    Upscale restaurant.

The Louisianna restaurant at the Zona Rosa... walking distance from the Radisson Ancira and 2 blocks away from the CP.

Thanks CP! Where is the Colonia del Valle area? I have been studing the mapquest map of the Centro, but mapquest does not have "find address" feature in Monterrey. El Gran Pastor and El Rey del Cabrito sound interesting as does San carlos and Mirador.

I know CP is not girl friendly. That's why I have thought about changing. I wonder if I would want to bring a girl to my room. And CP seems to have other interesting things to see and do close by. Seems the Sheraton may be girl friendly, but no closer to Vilagren than CP. What's your take? Is the Vilagren area walkable from the CP?

I hope USB has left some chicas! I thought USB was only an occasional visitor. It would be most interesting to share a beer with either of you.

Any changes in the local scene? I will be there next week. Have reservation at Crowne Plaza, but may change.
