Posts: 764Monterrey Breaking (Good?) News
Searching "Nuevo Leon COVID Restricciones" on Google, I discovered the following article, which appears to have been published early this (Thursday) afternoon:
https://www.razon.com.mx/estados/alz...cciones-411562
For those of you wondering what "Buen Fin" is, here is a link to the description on Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Bue...of%20 November
Bottom line is, from November 9 through 20, it appears that Monterrey will maintain status quo and allow businesses to remain open with 30 percent capacity (in other words, no widespread lockdown). If this is the case, then I will take my upcoming trip to Monterrey. I'll still be closely watching what the "COVID stoplight" will be for Nuevo Leon when it is updated this coming Friday.
I'll let you guys read the articles I posted and see if you come up with a different interpretation.

Posts: 1325"Thoughts, guys?" at Quagmire1974: I don't really get why rush into a place at the worst time possible when you can't enjoy the atmosphere etc? Rio has opened beaches and discos etc, - just an example. Mexico in on my radar however I am going to wait until things clear; there is no way I wear any mask anywhere.

Flying is not an issue, easier then driving at the moment, but everything can change.

Posts: 764Changes in Nuevo Leon and Monterrey
As DramaFree11 alluded to a few days ago, a worsening COVID situation has resulted in changes in Nuevo Leon and, more specifically, Monterrey. Here is a link that I posted in this forum on October 26, which is the same day the following article was published online:
https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/cor...virus-ranking/
Using Google, I searched for "Nuevo Leon COVID Restricciones. " When the results popped up, I clicked on the "News" tab and found a whole bunch of current information. If you're using the Google Chrome browser, the articles automatically translate into English.
This article mentions that anyone on the streets of Monterrey without a face mask will be arrested and fined. The edict applies to both locals and foreigners:
https://www.proceso.com.mx/nacional/...es-251805.html
This article verifies what DramaFree11 said, that restaurants must close by 10 pm, with shopping centers, museums, cinemas, and casinos also having to close at that time. Maximum capacity in those establishments must be reduced from 50 percent to 30 percent:
https://www.milenio.com/ciencia-y-sa...taurantes-leon
This article mentions that Durango has now joined Chihuahua in returning to the COVID "red stoplight. " Nuevo Leon is specifically mentioned early in the article:
https://www.xataka.com.mx/medicina-y...s-restringidas
This article mentions that Mexico City may slip back into the COVID "red stoplight" and that the "stoplight map" will be updated this Friday November 6:

Previously in this forum, I said:

At this point, my biggest concern is my hotel. If Monterrey regresses from the "orange" to the "red" stoplight and hotels are forced to reduce capacity, I'm worried about my hotel reservation being canceled. I actually sent my hotel an e-mail a few days ago expressing this concern and have heard nothing back.
So what do you guys think? At this point, I'm desperate to get on an airplane and fly to a country that isn't mine and sleep in a bed that isn't mine just to have a change of pace. I honestly believe that I can pull off this trip since, again, the spas probably won't close and the Twitter WGs aren't going to stop riding cock. Hell, this is probably THE time to visit Monterrey since some of those premiere Twitter WGs are actually attainable with greater ease due to less customers.
Thoughts, guys?

Partial shutdown is back on in MTY. Restaurants need to close at 10 and they stop serving alcohol at 9 pm. We will see what happens.

Get a T-Mobile Sim Card. It's free Data and Text in over 100 countries including Mexico and Thailand. You can also add overseas phone / talk for additional fee which can be for just one month. Also, in countries like the PRC, you can get blocked websites without a VPN. Worth every penny.

Sent a girl backing for the first time in awhile. She wa good 30-40 pounds heavier then her pictures. Normally I am respectful, but a girl referred her to me. I was pissed. Said Hello, then walked off.
Have to the good with the bad.

Posts: 558Thanks for the answers on telephone service. Unfortunately where I live the only viable service is US Cellular so I'm out of luck on that topic. Maybe I CAN get a local sim.
