Tomjacking: I visited Morelia in the winter of 2014. I must have taken a bus there as I don't rent cars in Mexico and had been traveling around Sonora and spent some time in Guadalajara, Guanajuato, San Miguel del Allende etc. I was actually not aware of any strip clubs there and thought the city was incredibly boring and frankly found the woman I saw walking around the city to be quite unattractive. I did find that street with the SW's you mentioned as it's fairly close to the center. The talent, at least when I visited, was abysmal and the taxi driver seemed just as nervous as your driver. Perhaps, the police patrol the area or there was a recent bust but not sure.

I walked around the town a lot but never did see any strip clubs so made a mistake in not asking someone about where to find chicas. It just struck me as a conservative city. Also, I had a Canadian friend who came at another time to see the Monarch butterflies who arrive in this area at a specific time of year, every year. That's a major tourist attraction there though the actual location to view them is a fairly good distance from Morelia.

Unlikely that I would ever return, but if I do, I will know about these locales thanks to your reports.

Welcome to Morelia!

Before my trip I gathered a lot of information about the city. A couple of my sources informed me Morelia was a dangerous city. I found it to be the opposite. However, the rest of Michoacán has a dangerous reputation.

Morelia is not a conservative city; it is unlike Toluca and San Luis Potos. I would say around one-third of the people wore masks outdoors and taxi / Uber drivers had masks, but never wore them.

Why Morelia?

I'm up and traveling again and one of my goals is to travel to every state in Mexico. I'm making progress; slowly but surely.

Note: I flew to Morelia out of Tijuana and back only using my passport card. A passport book is not required!

All the money I quote is in pesos, unless you see the dollar sign.

I used CBX from Otay to the Tijuana airport and back; I highly recommend CBX. CBX round trip was around 36 bucks. Because it was a Friday morning, CBX was packed with travelers. Now I recommend filling out the FMM at CBX. I had a couple of problems recently with filling out the FMM online, printing it, and trying to use it at immigration.

After clearing immigration at the Tijuana airport, I went to the VIP lounge. Those bastards raised the daily pass to 690! Returning, I did not see any VIP lounge in Morelia after security. Just a small crappy restaurant where I got a bite to eat and some shitty wine to drink. However, I did not check if the lounge was before security; I might have missed a detail.

Getting there:

I flew Volaris non-stop to Morelia and I flew back using Aeromexico. I used two different airlines because I did not like the round trip schedule of either one. I also pay different prices, because I like boarding first and sitting in the front of the plane.

The taxi to the hotel from the airport cost 485! But I did not realize the hotel was around a 45 minute drive. Returning to the airport, I used my trusted Uber driver and I gave him 400.

Getting around town:

I used taxis when I had to and each damn taxi driver had no idea as to where in the flying fuck he was going! With each driver, I had to bring up my Google maps and show the dumb fuck where to go! How does this happen? How do they stay employed? I have so many unanswered questions!

I found an Uber driver after dinner the first night and he stayed with me for both nights and the airport return as well. His name is Antonio and I have his permission to give out his number if you need his services. I had eight clubs on my original list, but he knew of two more!

Hotel:

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Grand Hotel. I have always booked through Hotels.com and never had an issue with any of my bookings; until this pinche hotel. I booked a Suite, 1 King Bed, for $120 a night. When I arrived I was informed that room was not available and I was pissed! But, they did say they would upgrade me to a Non-Suite with two queen beds. I told them I failed to understand the upgrade and fix it! That didn't happen. Thus, I stayed for two nights with a fantastic view of the parking lot in a room I didn't want and paid for!

Another issue, I was supposed to receive a free bottle of wine with my stay. The bottle turned out to be a small split of wine that was no better than Boones Farm's crap. Yep, I really was not happy with this hotel; can you tell?

Communication:

I have the North American T-Mobile plan; enough said.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and here are my thoughts on the food scene:

Restaurants:

San Miguelito Excellent.

La Conspinacion Very good.

Tata Outstanding.

Every-damn-body told me I have to try the Corundas, a specialty of the state; Michoacán. It's just a small tamale with corn filling. For me, it was nothing special.

Spanish:

Because Morelia is not a gringo destination, very little English is spoken. There was only one person at the hotel that spoke English and no one in the restaurants. This also included the taxi and Uber drivers.

The mongering scene:

This city was easy to find information about the venues. I started out with 8 clubs on my list; Antonio helped me find 2 more.

Strip / table dance clubs:

In each club, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my NEW trusty note pad. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to correct me. Because I drank various things in the clubs, I just wrote down the price of the cheapest beer. The fichas were various prices; I am quoting the lowest ficha price.

Club: Kandys.

Cover: 30.

Beer: 60.

Ficha: 250.

Sex: 3000 for 30 minutes.

On site: yes.

Number of chicas: saw 10, but was told 15-20 later.

Quality of chicas: good to very good.

Night / Time: Friday /10:15.

Comments: Great looking club; I liked how it was set-up.

Club: Galaxxies.

Cover: none.

Beer: 60.

Ficha: 190.

Sex: room 2050, chica 2000 for 1 hour.

Comments: The best feature about this club was the dressing room had windows to watch the girls changing clothes! It was a very nice club to boot.

Club: Las Sirenas.

Sex: 2250 for the chica, 750 for the room for 45 minutes.

Comments: This was my favorite club in Morelia! All the girls were great and non aggressive, except for one which I will discuss later. The first time there, I fell in love with a freaking hot petite morena. I told her I would return the next night to take her to the room, but you know how that goes.

I returned Saturday night to spend time with the petite morena. When I sat down, two of my mesera buddies told me she was occupied and when I saw her, she wasn't leaving the party any time soon. Thus, instead of me hanging around and stalking her like a PLM in Hong Kong; I moved on.

At the same time when I sat down, some older no-ass chica, made a bee-line towards me and jumped in the seat next to me. I did not ask for her company and I really did not want her pinche company. While I was talking to the mesera and going over my options, the no-ass chica kept tapping my upper arm when she wanted to say something to me or to get my attention. That was pissing me off! After the fifth tap, I told her to leave me in peace! Then she got really nasty, calling me names and such. I really wanted to get up and slap the fuck out of her; but I didn't.

Two girls were dancing nude on stage and I made eye contact with one of them. When she finished dancing, she was coming for me, while still naked. She plopped down on my lap, facing me, and gave me a long and wet kiss. Then she forced me to suck on both nipples! Obviously, she wasn't aware how timid I was; OH, the horror! Then she gave me an order, "The room; now!" I could not find any reason in the world to say no! It was about the best 45 minutes in my old life!

Ficha: 700 (Even though their menu had other prices, the meseros and manager would not budge on that price.).

Sex: 1500 for 30 minutes, the room cost was never discussed.

Comments: It is a large club and I loved the chicas. I did not buy the 700 peso ficha! However, if I was quoted correctly, the price for sex was pretty damn good.

Sex: 2000 for 30 minutes, the room cost was never discussed.

Number of chicas: 20, was told there are at least 30.

Quality of chicas: OK to very good.

Comments: This was a unique club and it was extremely busy (many locals). It included regular dancing and performing strippers.

Sex: Room was 200 for 45 minutes. The prices varied depending on the chicas.

Quality of chicas: There was a mix of every kind of chicas, from maybe OK to good.

Comments: This club was strange in every way possible. It was more of a local club, but right in the middle of the big clubs. There was dancing, but not much else. At 10:30, the place was packed. It was a down and dirty place; I loved that!

Let's chat about the chica from Veracruz. I named her "Vera" because I don't remember names, including mine when I'm club hopping! After I sat down and ordered a drink, within 20 seconds, she was sitting at my table and putting my fingers in her panocha and slapping my face with her tetas; I fell in love, but it didn't last long.

She seemed to be high on something because her eyes were going in different directions. I thought maybe if I slapped her hard enough, her eyes might settle the fuck down; but I didn't.

She told me this was her first night and she was excited. I asked her how much for sex, and she replied, "Gratis" and she was serious. I quickly asked for the check and paid for the room! The girl was just plain fucking weird!

In the elegant room, she got ever weirder, as if that was even possible. She got on her knees and started sucking on the Little Sailor, but she kept stopping to ask me questions. Like: Do you want a girlfriend? Do you want a wife? Will you come to Veracruz with me?

At that point, the Little Sailor got scared and decided to play dead! Everything went to hell in a handbasket after those questions. So basically, I spent the next ten to fifteen minutes counting cockroaches while she tried to bring the Little Sailor back to life. I pretty much threw in the towel and left. But, I did give her 500 pesos for the highly entertaining session.

My favorite low-end clubs: Ramses and Cachorras.

Street scene:

There are two streets where the girls stand and they are around Plaza Carrillo. The streets are Abasolo and Manuel Muiz.

I was told they hang out from five to midnight. I went there at 8 on Saturday and saw seven; four of those I talked to. It seems they are all in the same union. All four quoted me the same prices: 550 for 15 minutes and 850 for thirty minutes. Two positions and the hotel were included. Kind of pricy for a street girl!

I had a really timid Uber driver. When we got near the girls, I got out of the car to ask questions. The pussy driver got scared and fled the scene. So, I walked to Manuel Muiz to seek out more street girls. Yep, same union, same prices.

Final thoughts on Morelia:

It was a seeking putas and eating great food trip. I thought the city was safe and I never felt threaten in any manner. Would I ever return to Morelia? No, I still have many cities left to explore in Mexico. Would I recommend it to other mongers? Absolutely!

Just a head's up to my brothers in the hobby-- Masaje Sharon in the colonia Prado Verdes has been shut down by the authorities on [CodeWord908] charges. I call BS on the charges and think that it may have something to do with the bosses not paying off the right people in the right positions. I've been going to Sharon's for years and have made friends with several of the girls. None seem coerced or forced into their jobs and, really, the whole atmosphere of the place is very casual, with girls coming and going at will. I don't buy the charges, but that doesn't matter. Knowing Mexico and how these things work, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-opened at some point, but I wouldn't risk going back, at least not for a long while and after trusted friends give the green light.

This is really, really bad news for hobbyists because Sharon's was real class. The girls were hot, friendly, accommodating, and the whole place had a nice, cozy feel to it. In recent months, they even upped the quality by bringing in more girls and higher-end workers. Personally, I'm at a loss to find a replacement right now because, although I have my own favorite contacts to call for service, I always enjoyed stopping by Sharon's to check out the new talent. It's going to be hard to find a better place.

I was there in March of last year. Really, my sense was there was very little action there and did not find the women attractive. In fact, the city has a reputation for unattractive women with Mexican guys. On the plus side, it's a nice safe town with good winter weather and a few things to see and do. However, English is not widely spoken.

I stayed in a small hotel across from a park and the nunnery. Around this area are several nice outdoor restaurants and bars where people hang out in the evening. Unfortunately, the hotel I stayed in, which had a beautiful view of the church and the nunnery, is also the main transportation route in the morning or evening into town. It was tranquil when I checked in but all hell breaks loose during rush hour. On the opposite side from this park area, more or less the cathedral side, there are quite a few inexpensive guest type houses or small hotels. The city seems to shut down by midnight. But if you cruise the side streets on either side of the main drag (where the cathedral is located), you should find a few refurbished colonial house turned into small hotels.

I do remember some not very attractive sw's who hang on a certain corner and street in the old town. They usually come out at dusk. Ask around as I think it's common knowledge. Maybe you will get lucky and find a gem. In fact, I stayed at the hotel there on that corner for one night whose name I forgot but it was cheap. It's basically walking down hill a few blocks from their nice indoor market area and main drag but further down from the cathedral. This particular street with the occassional tricks running the other way goes up to the park where the nunnery and church is situated. Both hotels were about $20 to $30 per night.

There are some girlie clubs in Zamora about two hours from Morelia away mentioned recently by a prior poster. I went there one night and messed around with a cute girl in one of their private rooms but think the price was too high for takeaway. Zamora is a bit bleak though. The only reason to visit this town is to see a really cool little park with a nice lagoon to swim and hang out. There is very nice hotel there and it's within a small national or provincial park. It's about 20 minutes from Zamora, which I recall is the reason I did not take the girl out because it was such a hassle and expensive to arrange transportation back and forth for the girl.
