Too comfirm what Lobo has already stated. Things are heating up with the drug wars. Again in Nogales.

I crossed into Nogales three days ago and the Customs agent told me to be careful that the Drug guys in Nogales had just killed 8 of their own.

Just got back from a Nogales trip, and I have to say it is the first trip I have actually regretted making.

I have had the same exact experience three years ago. You get that a whole lot more with street/bar girls. Take Lobo's advice and cut her loose before you pay if she wants money up front.

Just a heads up for would be travelers to Nogales Sonora, the drug cartels have been at it all month long. Plenty of killings amongst themselves with many innocent locals injured and it looks like it will spill into the beginning of the new year.

I needed to do some shopping in Mexico so I went to Nogi for a quick turn around I couldn't linger around to much because I had a date in the US.

Not much I can add to Lobo's responses, except for a couple of minor suggestions...

Hotel California is typically $25 to $35 for the entire night, so if you are even considering going beyond 1 hour with a lady (or seeing multiple ladies in one night), it is well worth it.

If you want to use pesos but can't get down there before 7:00ish (not sure exactly when they close, but I am fairly sure it is somewhere between 7:00 & 8:00), there is a 24 hour currency exchange on the US side of the border. You will get better exchange rates if you can get there before the places on the Mexican side close though.

If you read back through the older posts here, you will find lots of reports about the ladies in the clubs wanting far too much money for their services (often $160 or more for an hour). You will get much better pricing ($50 to $100 an hour) from the ladies who work the streets & bars (I have personally visited with a couple of the ladies who hang out at the Regis bar, and I know there are ladies at most of the other bars). They usually start showing up between 8:00 and 9:00).

La Roca cateres to americans but away from the street sceen, There are 2 restaurants on opposite ends of the corner on Avenida Obregon one block in from the border, my favaorite is the one with the open air dinning area the other I believe is Rosas. Does it matter yes and no to a spanish speaker probably not to an American absolutely. If you use pesos you can net a savings, but when buying a drink what's a few cents difference. Negotiate chicas in pesos then you can pay in dollars.
They are accustomed in dealing with dollars so if you feel more comfortable using dollars use them.
No 24 hour exchange place but there is a 24 hour pharmacy and they have exchanged money in the past.

Obssessions is one block to your right as you cross the border, all the other clubs are to your left opposite obssessions and across the train tracks, 2 blocks walking distance. Everything you need should be within a 3 block radius to the International border.
