Well I have 2 reports to share. First time in Mexico, and also my first time mongering.

Last Thursday me and a few buddies crossed the border and went straight to Obsessions. We had never been their before, or read up on the forums so we really had no idea where we were going. I've allready been complaining to the staff and also complained to one of the managers. I usaully tell them with the kind of prices you charge I don't need to come to Nogales I can just stay home and pay the same price. They try to justify their pricing but I shoot down every argument they have. They ask me why do you come if things are to high. First of all I don't play in the clubs because of excessive pricing so your prices don't effect me, Second I can get a better price on the streets and Third and most importantly I come for the people. The clubs are just a pit stop and watering hole for me.

One guy caught on to what I do and instead of bitching about not spending in the clubs he finds me girls and usually makes more money through the commissions the girls pay him. These are his exact words " YOU DON'T WANT THE GIRLS IN THE CLUBS THEY ARE TO EXPENSIVE, THEY ARE CHEAPER OUTSIDE THE TDs" he is not the only one to have told me this over the years. The workers and the people on the streets know they are to high, the girls know they are excessive but that's why they are there to make some big easy American bucks. Seems the only ones that don't believe they are to high are the managers and owners.

A manager I believe is suspicious of my actions has implemented new protocals for his girls. What you say is true, for the most part. However, in the case of Nogie, the last poster was more correct.

Nogie has no clue when it comes to pricing. It's like watching an episode of the Honeymooners when opened up a diner, gave more food and charged less. When they didn't make a profit, they gave even bigger portions and charged even more less... they loss their asses.

Nogie is the opposite. They're not making a profit, so they charge more to increase the profits, but are driving away customers. Sure, they'll get lucky with the new visitors, but the regulars will revolt soon and the money will dry up.

The reality is, this isn't the sign of the times. Prices should be getting lower everywhere. The clubs should be paying less for booze and we all know they pay their workers next to nothing.

The bar owners are greedy little pricks... that's all. The girls are probably getting only a little bit more then what they were 5 years ago.

Nogales isn't the only game in town. Douglas isn't that far away and may be worth the drive to save the $$$. I know that if I went venturing with 3 of my buds, Douglas is where I'd be heading... or Yuma.

YES... I forgot to mention the worst offender of them all, that being the global economic collapse. Either way you put it Mexico is hurting, one good thing for Mexico, most of it's people are extremely poor, they have a shorter distance to fall and probably can weather the economic storm better than us in the States. Of course only time will tell the end results of the world economic fiasco.

As far as their price structure from last year to a month ago to now is extremely relevant because as I have posted before, in Nogales and in no other border town, prices seem to go up as things worsen. Prices are still being quoted to me from a 2 year old price structures. I'm hoping for lower prices but I know better and expect higher for the comming weeks.

They're nuts in Nogales when it comes to pricing.

As most of us already know, costs for last year, let alone last month, are of no relevance to the current pricing structure.

When I first moved back to Monterrey at the end of April, two of my favoritas at the S/C's had disclosed to me that business was down around 25 percent since the start of the year. That number has probably changed for the worse in just the last four weeks. Three MP's here have lowered their prices by 20 percent(more time or lower price) and one high-end MP is now offfering 15 minute slots to directly compete with S/C privados, something I would have never guessed at this particular location as it is Five Star by US standards.

In it's heyday(2006-7), Calle Villagran and it immediate half-mile surrondings had approximately fourteen S/C's in operation. That number is currently down to eight. On a recent Saturday night, only four were doing business and the other four may have had 50 customers...combined.

At 12:30 AM.

On a Saturday night.

During the weekdays, some of the surviving clubs do not even bother to open anymore. In my opinion, the drastic and unprecedented decline in business here in MX(or the world for that matter) has absolutely, positively nothing to due with swine flu, passport requirements or the drug wars. This is simply the inevitable negative effects of a collapsing global credit bubble with percentage declines and velocity emulating that of only the 1930's.

1500 pesos for full service is so last year.

And for a very few rare cases... so last month.

My purpose for going to Nogi was a 2 part rendezvous first to see a dentist then to implement my $60 dollar rule and guess what, my rule works. The only American on the streets was my friend, every merchant targeted him for a potential sale I must look Mexican next to him because I wasn't harrassed by anyone or maybe it's just that everyone knows me. There were about 5 other Americans in the clubs.

Once you leave the tourist zone and enter the real Nogales it's a fairly normal thriving city with plenty of merchants and customers. If you pay attention you can see the difference from tourist zone to the city of Nogales. We meandered to the park to check things out and hang out for a while. A little fair was in progress I found some homemade ice cream and we relaxed at the park for a while. A few hotties passed us by then we spotted a super hot chica that was on the other side of the street who appeared to be working, she sure dressed the part, beside she would stop guys and talk to them so we commenced to follow her untill we lost her near the grocery store, damn she was hot. Maybe next time I'll keep an eye out.

Back at the strip clubs things were very slow due to the fact that they had a concert in town, some guy that sings corridos mafia style. In any event prices are comming back down I had one hustler offer me a girl for $80 US which made me almost swallow my tongue, it sure is nice to hear a lower price without demanding it and I had a girl offer me a real cheap deal according to her of $150 in the clubs. I was told by some of the workers that they are amazed by how much the new passport rule has effected them. They were assuming that things would be the same. Mexico is dealing with a triple threat to their economy, one being the drug wars, two the swine flu and now the new passport rule. Maybe just maybe we might see prices come down, I'll keep you guys up to date since I'm in the trenches all the time.

As of right now things appear to be safe for would be travelers. The construction is still not finished on Calle Elias.

On another note I'm about ready to go back to Guadalajara I was down there approximately 3 weeks ago, mostly met with family, fixed up the house a little. I did absolutely no mongering at all but I did manage to meet a couple of very nice regular girls which I got their phone numbers and have called them a few times. They both want to know when I'm comming back I guess I made an impression. My cousins want me to meet their female friends as well the next time I'm down there. So either this 4th of July weekend or the following I will go back in Guadalajara and see where things lead.
