So once I moved to a guest friendly hotel, I called up Chris from Red Zone and hooked up with Mili who'd given me a really good lap dance on my tour. Just so everyone knows, all strip clubs in PV and Bucerias are closed Christmas eve to the 26th. I just spent $30US on a cab driving to ALL the clubs just to find out they are all closed. Well, I survived my trip to PV no thanks to Montezuma! Thanks indeed to all the members who gave me tips here or via PM!

So first night there I did the "Red Zone tour". I've got to say I had a blast! Chris who hosts it is knowledgeable and entertaining. We hit the main stroll over by Bolivia at Guatemala first then over to Las Antorches. It was already closed as there were no cruise ships in town. Next up was El why Ella and Las Conejitas: LC was the more upscale of the 2 but even on a Saturday night there were only a couple of girls worth paying much attention to in each though one at El why Ella was really hot and Gave a very enthusiastic lap dance! I got her number for later but was unable to get a hold of her. I think Las Alazanas was next which is strictly a brothel but I didn't see any girls much to my liking so we carried on. Rolex was the next club and there were a few good looking girls there so we stuck around a while and I had another couple beers and yet another great lap dance. Our last stop was Platinos which Chris highly recommended but said he didn't expect to get into. It turned out they did let him in and we hung out there til about 2:30 then called it a night as I'd been up really early to get to the airport. Platinos was more upscale than most of the others and had a few pretty good looking girls that night and one who was stunning. Unfortunately, she appeared just after one of the other girls parked at our table and got scooped up before we could get her. Chris also gave me the lowdown on prices at the places we went to and how much the girls got out of that in case I wanted to make a side deal with one of them.

Chris is well known to most of the club staff and many of the girls and was able to put me in touch with 1 of the girls I'd gotten a lap dance from at a better price than the club by far. (Review to follow!)

The tour cost me 1300 pesos plus drinks and lap dances and I'd call it money well spent. I'd have spent nearly that in fares and door fees if I'd cabbed it to all those places.

I walk by there often and unless things pick up after midnight, expect an average of 3 to 6 women. For a few more, try the upstairs club reported on previously at the end of and mountain side of Colombia Street. I would stress in all this that Spanish helps and 85% of the "girls" are fat women. The downtown SWs are not for typical gringo tourists who are staying in the hotel zone with fat wallets, high hopes, good hygiene, and expectations of English conversation and svelte babes.

There has always been a SW area in or near El Centro. The Hotel Erindea has been reported on & still has hookers nearby. There used to be a more upscale and cleaner house across from the Sheraton. I'd bet one has resurfaced if you check with the local cabbies. As for price. 200mx for a white man for FS is probably dreaming. I've paid 400mx + 100mx hotel recently. And they ask for more than this.

I'd advise most tourists to stick with the clubs reported on in here and to work with your cabbie.

Excellent Post. At least it is good to know that there is a little something going on besides the typical tourist haunts. I doubt it is for everybody but it's good to know regardless. It seems like they charge typical mexican SW prices. I wouldn't be surprised if someone could negotiate them down to 300mx but this is the coast with lots of tourists. Maybe that is easier said than done.

I recommend you guys to talk to the your embassy about this the next day it happend! If the embassy gets a few reports from several person they will do something like they already did after the US embassy in Vallarta received a few reports about the Transito (traffic) police beeing corrupt and taking driving licence away by saying things that where not true. As a result a few police chiefs got fired and the new chiefs want to hold there position by kicking corrupt police officers out. Also ask the police officers about there name and number by letting them show you there I'd card. If you ask them to see it they must show you! This also pulls them off of doing things like this because you have there name and number.

I've heard a lot of stories about this kind of thing happening in Puerto Vallarta. But thanks for the information Sex Hunter. If it ever happens to me again I will make sure to visit the Canadian Embassy. But I am way more careful about things now. So I doubt that it ever will.

By the way is Los Antorches not open on Sundays?

The other night I was wandering around downtown in an tequila haze at 3AM when 2 cops stopped me. They had me empty all my pockets to see what I had. Then they told me to be on my way. When I checked my dough, there was $300 (US) gone. The guy at the hotel said there was nothing I could do about it.

I don't like critcizing too often, but here goes: why were you walking around in a foreign country at 3am in a drunken haze with $300 on you? Maybe you could paint the word "Target" on the back of your shirt? You didn't watch the wallet like a hawk?

One of the tricks I've learned in mexico, when asked by the cops to empty my pockets, is to do so, but hold the wallet in my hand. If they ask to peruse it or hold it, I open it first and take the cash out and keep it in my hand, so they can clearly see it. While there were times they wanted to hold everything in their hands, they knew exactly what I was doing by not letting them touch the money.
