Thanks to those who came before me and shared information about the PVR sex scene so that I could take use the few hours I had away from the family last week productively. As is fair, I will share my experience below.

First, a little about me. This is my first time to PVR for mongering purposes. I am a frequent visitor to Tijuana and use that as my point of comparison for Mexican hookers. We drove into the dark and he was very skeptical, even more so when we saw a cluster of trannies at the intersection of Politecnico and Pareta. The taxista asked me if I was sure I wanted to go to a joto bar, and I assured him that there were real girls beyond.

The Zona Roja.- really, it is so small that calling it a Zona is ambitious.- is a dump. It's a dirt lot surrounded by a few buildings in the middle of nowhere.comparing it to the Zona Norte in Tijuana is like comparing a small trailer park to a condo complex. Getting out of my taxi, I was happy to see a couple other taxis waiting in the dirt lot for my departure later. It was about 2:30am when I arrived.

There appeared to be three bars on the dirt lot: Stravaganza, Las Alazanas, and Matehuala. A building next to Stravaganza said Cadillac Bar, but I think it was closed. I had intended to get my girl at Las Alazanas based on what I've read on this thread.- it seemed to me more like Tijuana's Las Chavelas compared to Stravaganza, which sounded more like Tijuana's Adelita Bar.- but planned to scope out the whole area so I could report.

I went first to Las Alazanas. It is very dark inside. A couple girls were seated along the wall to the left. There were a few couples at tables to the right. Further to the right was a dance floor where two pairs were dancing. A couple more girls sat alone at various tables inside. I walked through to the back to use the restroom, passing a large barrel that reeked of [CodeWord140]. After my first circuit through the bar, I did not see anyone I considered doable, and crossed the dirt lot over to Stravaganza.

Outside Stravaganza, I saw that there was a 30 peso cover charge which included one drink (exchange rate for my visit was 14 pesos per dollar). A drunk local came out and started talking to me. For some reason, he wanted me to hang out with him. He was headed to Matehuala, so I shrugged my shoulders and went with him. Matehuala was smaller and darker than Alazanas. There were maybe 4-5 girls there, compared with 7-8 at Alazanas. Quality was even worse at Matehuala. My new friend grabbed a table. I did a quick pass-through and told him I was going over to Stravaganza instead.

Stravaganza is the largest of the three bars. There is a big stage in the middle for strippers. In the back are some couches for privados. I was quoted $6 for 3 minutes on the privados which looked pretty decent.- topless with lots of grinding and touching. But I passed on that and instead nursed my beer in the main area. There were about 10-12 girls on shift, all pretty decent but no stunners. I'd rate them all in the 6 to 8 range. Only one immediately jumped out at me, a blonde who looked perhaps a little more pro than the others, but she was occupied. Nobody bothered me, which was a nice change from the aggressive meseros and vendors of Tijuana. I just drank my beer and watched the strippers for a while. By the time I finished my beer, I had a couple candidates in mind, but decided to go check out Alazanas again. The cover charge works for the whole night with in and out privileges.

Alazanas looked about the same, except that it was mostly empty now. The girls had moved outside onto stools. There was a guy at the door with whom I chatted for a while. He said the deal at Alazanas was 500 pesos for half hour, including the room. Given the exchange rate, I thought this was a pretty good price. He asked why I didn't pick a girl, and I explained that none were really my type (delgada, guera, joven, preferably rubia). He recommended a girl whom he called out to meet me. I forget her name. She was doable, I'd rate a 6. 5, probably late 20s or early 30s. I got a sense she would be a good lay without many rules. I told her tal vez mas tarde, and made a mental note that she might be my backup plan.

It's about 3am. Back to Stravaganza, and I see my new friend again. He has a table along the wall, so I sit down with him and tell him what I've seen. Apparently he likes to just go and drink beer and watch the girls because he doesn't have enough money to actually hire them. So he likes Stravaganza best because it has the best quality. I think all of the girls working at Stravaganza take a turn stripping. Sets are two or three songs long.

I move to another table and meet Michelle, a 27 year old from PVR. Black shoudler length hair, black cocktail dress, thin with an A cup. She's cute and gives off a good vibe. We have a nice chat. She wants 850 pesos. I tell her that others have said 800 and she basically says well, that's their deal, I charge 850. Michelle says she'll kiss but does CBJ only (I'm looking for BBBJ). Hotel: I stayed at the San Marino hotel and once again I had problems with getting what I had requested when I purchased my lodging for Puerto Vallarta. Last visit as I noted in a previous report it was at the Hotel Eloisa. I had requested an ocean view room with a king size bed, only to find out they had neither one available on my Friday check in as they had no vacancy. They told me they would be able to accommodate my requests on Saturday morning. On Saturday morning I was tired and hung over from partying all night, not getting back to the hotel until the sun was coming up in the morning, and with staying only one more day, I just said forget it.

My room was the typical hotel room for a 2.5 to 3 star hotel. The service was exceptional, and this particular property that sits directly on the beach, had some beautiful grounds and a pool. It also provides you chairs, towels, and has kayaks, e.c.t, for you to use if you are into the beach and water activities. There is also some good restaurants in the hotel. The one thing I did not like, was my bed was hard as a rock. Also they are now going to start charging 300 pesos for additional guests to your room. However, the night security guard, let me come in with a girl by putting one hundred pesos in his hand. I also passed several times on Friday with female friends, and nothing was said. This hotel sits in what is referred to as Old Vallarta, which is my favorite area of Puerto Vallarta. You have shops, restaurants, bars, casa de cambios, pharmacies, super markets, and almost anything else you want all basically on your door step.

Beach: The beach area in front of the hotel is really nice, and I consider Los Muertos beach to be one of the best in all of Puerto Vallarta. It is probably the most popular beach for the locals. A long pier stretches out into the water, and this pier serves as a tourist spot, a place to go fishing, e.c.t. There is also a volleyball net set up on the beach, as you exit on to the beach from the hotel. I spent about 4 hours on Saturday at the beach, and the same on Sunday, The volleyball area was quite popular. This is directly next to the San Marino hotel, and anyone who wanted to play was welcome. I also noticed alot of people on the beach, with most of the tourists being I believe from Guadalajara, who were in town for semana week, which is quite popular for Mexicans, and one of there preferred locations to spend this holiday is in Puerto Vallarta.

Nightlife: I go on bar tours each time I am in Puerto Vallarta and this time was no different. I do not go to any tourist bars, as I like to experience the Mexican culture. I go to Mexican cantinas where the beers are one dollar, where you have good Mexican appetizers called "botanas", and where you have juke boxes playing banda music, and Mexican waitresses eager to meet a gringo. Names of some of the bars I went to were called, Calypso bar, Mar y Tierra, Jaconitos (? ), Esmeraldas, The Revolution, as well as going to the Mexican style strip clubs, such as El y Ellas, Stravaganza, and the whor-house bar, and a long time favorite of mine, called Las Alazenas. Conojitos bar was closed down this weekend, do to a raid by drug enforcement I was told.

I really had a memorable time in El y Ellas. I met a husband and wife who sat next to me on my flight to Puerto Vallarta. He was a gringo, and she was a Colombiana. Both of them were in there 40’s, and I could tell she was open to having a lot of fun. They had asked me about things to do in Puerto Vallarta, such as restaurants I would recommend, as well as the nightlife. It was also the Colombianas birthday on Saturday. I really clicked with them, so I invited them to come out and party with me. On Saturday they called me telling me they wanted to party, and wanted to know where and at what time they could meet me, so knowing it was her birthday, I arranged for a 5 piece band I know to show up at the bar Mar y Tierra to sing her happy birthday. I had informed her husband what I was going to do when I spoke to him on the telephone, and he thought this would be very cool, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for her, which will go down as one of the best nights she has ever experienced in her life.

From the Mar y Tierra bar, we went on a bar tour as I noted above, ending up at El y Ellas. I ordered a bottle of Traditional tequila and a bottle of Bacardi rum. By the time we got to El y Ellas, the Colombiana was on happy street, as she was enjoying the drinks, the atmosphere that was in the various cantinas, as well as the people I introduced her to along the way. Her husband was feeling the same way. In El y Ellas with her husbands permission, I got her a private dance with one of the girls, and this girl from El y Ellas was simply amazing in every way. I took this bit-h back to my hotel room, and this turned out to be a big mistake, as the bit_h stole my camera when she left at 8 in the morning, as I laid in my bed passed out. Of course I contacted her as soon as I awoke and noticed my camera was gone from the dresser top, but obviously she was not going to admit to it. However, I put the word out to some friends about the situation regarding my camera, and tonight, Monday, I received a message telling me my camera was now in the hands of one of those good friends. It was either she was going to give the camera back or face some consequences that were pretty severe. Other than the incident involving the camera it was a night that was memorable, not only for the couple who partied with me, but it was a night I will forever remember, and hope to repeat in the very near future, but more than likely it will not be until the first part of August, as I am off to Cartagena and Santa Marta, Colombia next week, then to Cali, Colombia in May, and in the latter part of June and the first part of July, I have tentative plans to go back to Thailand, or spend some time touring Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

A couple other notes:

On Friday night I had my share of Traditional tequila in me, so I decided to take the group I was with dancing to the Salsa bar that is located next to the bar called Roxy, and was the former home of The Shrimp Factory in old Vallarta. This was also a lot of fun, so if you are looking for a place to go and dance, you might want to consider this place.

The bar Calypso is a normal type of Mexican cantina/bar where you can get a dollar beer and be able to relax and shoot a game of pool if you want. They also have a juke box that has everything on it from American classic rock to Mexican music. My special friend Rossy, just opened the bar a couple of months ago, and with tourism being way down for a number of reasons, she is struggling to make it, as are most bars in Puerto Vallarta and elsewhere are, so I want to do anything I can to help her make it through these difficult times, as she has a good amount of money invested in the bar, not to mention she works her ass off, as in working 12 to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, to try to make a go of it. I really appreciate any and all who go and have a drink or two at this place. Just tell her, her special gringo friend Eduardo recommended that you stop by. She is about 27 years old, very nice looking with long blond hair, and is just a great person to go along with that physical beauty. Thanks a million! The bar sets a couple doors off of the beach on Honduras Street, and in years past was called Clandestanos. If you are on the main road that passes by downtown Puerto Vallarta, that also runs next to the board walk area called the Malecon, you cannot miss it. It is one block from the Pemex gas station. If you are anywhere on the main drag, and you find Honduras, go towards the beach and it is on your left hand side a half a block down. Across the street from the bar is a street taco stand that opens up about 8pm, and they serve some of the best tacos de pastor you will find in the city of Puerto Vallarta. i landed 7 hours late from good ole thunderstorms in big d. went out to the zona after checking into the hotel san marino that urban suggested.

let me comment on that first. this is a ideal location property. the beds are very hard but clean. the one big draw back is that it is located in the gayborhood. there were ass pirates galore staying at this hotel. they just opened it up to these fruit loops in the last three weeks as bookings from the us are non horrible. great location. found a pvr icon pub around the corner where i hooked up the only two nights i went there with canadian hotties. there were 7 girls for every guy in town. large groups of single (and married who want to play) girls roaming the clubs and maelcon. the men must have wimped out as i was livin large for freebies. if you stay at the san marino go to http://www.andales.com/

I suspect that your place with the cave-like entrance was the club called "El y Ella". It's a great club: a big step up in elegance from the Zona clubs, yet without the mega-prices of the "touristy" strip clubs along the town's main drag.

Next door, is the club called "Conojitos". I haven't been there in a couple of years. If they have finally gotten rid of the crooked waiters, it might be a decent place. Otherwise, bring a stack of 20 peso and 50 peso notes so that you won't have to beg the waiters for your return change. Also, the waiters won't be able to pull the "your 200 peso note magically becomes a 20 peso note" sleight-of-hand, where the waiter catches you off-guard and claims you have underpaid him.

Stravaganza, El y Ellas, Conojitos, are all the same types of places, Mexican stripclubs, where the infrastructure is not as nice as say the United States style clubs that are in Puerto Vallarta, such as Prestige, Hysteria, Azul, e.c.t., and of course the quality is not as good over all, but there are definitely beautiful chicas to be found in them. Then of course you have Las Alazenas, which is a must for anyone to stop in and see, as it is a classic Mexican whor_house style bar. I have made several posts on here about the place, and it is one of my favorite places to go, for a number of reasons. One being a chica working in there only costs between $40 to $50.00 dollars for full service, and a beer only costs about $2 to $3.00 dollars. The rooms on the premises you take the girls to, I have found to be clean, and many of the girls actually live there. The place is quite popular to the locals. Second of all, one of my best friends in Puerto Vallarta is the manager there. His name is Chava, and he is one of the two waiters that work there. Three, it is just a fun place to stop in and have a beer or two, as I like the atmosphere of the place, because it is a cultural experience to be sure.

The outer area places you mentioned in your post Rohjay, you do not want to waste your time going to. You will find absolutely nothing in the way of girls or excitement!.

You are going to have a good time in Puerto Vallarta, but it is imperative you call my friend Rogilio, as I will let him know when I get to Puerto Vallarta on the 3rd, that you will be contacting him later on in the month. He does speak and understand english, even though he isn't fluent in the language. This way we can try to organize some things for you previous to your arrival.

Because of having surgery this past Monday, it forced me to change my arrival date to Puerto Vallarta. I had intended to be there on March 27th, but I now will be arriving on Friday, April 3rd. Anyone who has read back through the forum, knows when Urbanwildlife hits Puerto Vallarta, a fun and exciting party begins, so if anyone wants to be apart of my party, get yourself to Puerto Vallarta for that weekend. I only ask that you write and post a report of your experiences, in hopes that it will help others visiting Puerto Vallarta in the future. There are great deals to be found on airfare and hotels. I also encourage all visitors to Puerto Vallarta to checkout a bar called Calypso which formally housed a bar called Clandestanos (not sure of the exact spelling of it) but it is located on 126 Honduras street. It is just a few feet from the beach, and the main road that goes along the oceanfront of downtown Puerto Vallarta. If you are on the main road and see a Pemex Gas station, you will be very close to Honduras. When you are on Honduras walk towards the beach and you will run right into it, and it will be on your left. Beer is only 15 pesos, ($1.00 a bottle).

I would love to join you some time, it sounds like you know how to have fun. Unfortunately I'm locked in to my dates due to commitments in other parts of Mexico, otherwise I'd seriously consider coming down in April when you're there. I have a group of like minded friends. We're all in our late 40's, early 50's, and can afford to blow it out in Mexico about once a year.

I went ahead and got a room at the Buganvilias. I'm interested in Stravaganzas. Your reports sound pretty good. If any chicas are still in town, I suspect this would be the place to find them. I like the strategy of getting the girls to meet outside of the clubs. I'll check out Calypso's. Please share any other ideas you have for good places for food and drink.

Do you think your taxi driver friend will still be there in May? I'd like to meet him.
If it's as dead in PV as you say it will be, we might have to focus on exploring outlying areas like Sayulita, Punto Mita, and Mismaloya and kicking back. A bad day in Mexico beats a good day at work anytime!

Say hello to Rossy, as she is the owner. She is approximately 27 years old, with blond hair down to where you bend your knees!. Just a super beautiful and nice person. She also has a knowledge of the english language. The bar has a juke box that plays everything from classic rock-n-roll to Mexican banda music. On occasions she has classic rock bands perform, and this is usually on a Friday or Saturday night. She also has some very nice looking waitresses that are between 19 to 23 years old. On the opposite side of the street from the bar is a very good outdoor taco stand I highly recommend everyone to try. Ask for Tacos de Pastor, which is marinated pork that is made on a spicket. It is super delicious!. The bar opens I think at 4:00pm. I generally do not get there until 8 or 9 o'clock. On weekends, it gets pretty crowded by midnight.

What about surrounding areas? Would it make sense to go to other beach towns?

There are really no other beach towns. As I stated in a previous post, Nuevo Vallarta is a community of timeshare condos and all inclusive hotels, very little else. The cities boarding it are small and you will find many retired people. The only place to be is in the hotel zone south of the airport, such as where the Sheraton and Fiesta Americana is, or the Los Muertos beach area, which I posted about in my long post on Hotels. If I was offered a hotel room for free in Nuevo Vallarta I would not take it, as the location is the worst location relative to the action in all of Puerto Vallarta, despite the properties being totally awesome. I would say as much as 90 percent of all of the hotels and condos in Nuevo Vallarta are filled with families.

Of those 3 properties I would select the Sheraton Buganvilias, as it is the best location of the 3, even though the Mayan Palace is probably the premier property in all of the Puerto Vallarta, but it is located quite a good distance away from all the action.

NOTE: People, remember Puerto Vallarta is far from a mongering destination. Furthermore, there is very little nightlife to be had, other than Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and this is in the high tourist season, which runs from December through part of April. It is strictly a winter tourist destination for Americans and Canadians. The place really becomes a morgue once the high tourist season is over. You will also find the beaches empty. If you are planning a vacation after this time, and your trip is mostly about finding girls, I would look at other destinations such as Sosua in the Dominican Republic. I would hate for people to come to Puerto Vallarta and come away disappointed, so plan your destinations and times accordingly. You will however find quite a few Mexican tourists during the summer months who are in Puerto Vallarta on summer vacation.

I've just been told that low season starts in April in Puerto Vallarta. And that nightlife, especially availability of chicas, pretty much sucks during that time on till winter again. My time and place is pretty limitted so looks like either I have to cancel the PV trip, take the risk, or find another spot in Mexico where life is good for mongers during spring, any day of the week. I was hoping to come back with good report, but my hope seems to fade away. Maybe someone knows good spot in PV even during low season?

Guys trip. We're all in our 40's. We will definitely link up with Jackson. I'm also hoping there will be other board members down there at the same time. We'll have a fun group. I'm using a timeshare week and could stay at Buganvilias, Canto del Sol, or Mayan Palace, all in PV. Any thoughts on those places would be appreciated.
