I believe the smaller hole in wall hotels are still open in Tijuana. I was in Tijuana about 2 weeks ago and they were still open. There was only about 15-20 girls still around. I believe that a lot of girls have gone south to stay with their families. Kayla had told me that things were slow since most of their business is from US citizens. The article also said there was a estimated 7000 hookers in Tijuana. This seems like a pretty outlandish figure. I would think that there would be a lot more posts about Mexico city if there was any where near that many girls working. MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Hungry, scared and tired, scores of sex workers in Mexico City have been forced to live on the streets as fear of contracting the coronavirus keeps clients away and the government shuttered the hotels where many of them lived and worked.

Now they sleep under makeshift tents and on sidewalks, relying on social workers and handouts for what little they have been able to eat, and on each other to fend off attackers and criminals.

"They literally put us out on the streets. We've been on the street for a week; before we lived in the hotels," said Marina Rojano, who has been a sex worker for 24 years.

Another woman, Jazmin Carrillo, said she was jolted awake on the sidewalk earlier this week when two men tried to forcibly remove her pants.

"I defended myself as best I could, I screamed for the others to help," said Carrillo.

The government estimates there are around 7,000 prostitutes in Mexico City.

In an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus, which has infected 3,181 people and killed 174 in Mexico so far, city authorities deemed hotels non-essential and ordered them shut.

"We spoke to the hotels about not removing the sex workers living there. But they shouldn't be working because we're in the middle of an international health crisis," a spokesman for the Mexico City government said.

But hotels in the working-class Tabacalera neighborhood had signs saying "no service due to official orders," and removed sex workers, forcing them to set up tarps and line the sidewalks, according to a Reuters witness and dozens of interviews with prostitutes.

The city government said it was setting up shelters for them and is handing out "COVID-19 emergency support" cards with 1,000 pesos. Around $42 - for food and medicine.

"Nobody can live off 1,000 pesos," said Rojano.

Still, sex workers said any help was welcome and on Wednesday hundreds lined up for a card.

Some have decided to stop working, but for others, hunger and the need to support a family mean that is not an option even if they lack the means to protect themselves from the coronavirus.

"If they don't even have enough money to eat, how are they going to pay for a face mask, antibacterial gel, gloves? They don't even have money for coffee, or food," said Kenya Cuevas, who runs Casa de las Muecas, a shelter for transsexual sex workers.

Lots of places are good. From personal experience, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan would fit the bill. They both have action and golf courses. I don't know any of the golf courses personally as I don't waste my time on it. Of the two cities, I'd prefer Maz. Prices are more reasonable for pretty much everything. If you read any Spanish, the sexoenmazatlan forum has much better information than here. I think ISG could use a separate thread for Mazatlan. It's a nice town with some good action. Table dance, casas de citas as well as agencies and online indies. I've accidentally 'fallen in' to a casa de cita I didn't know was there previously while walking home from another one. Good action in CDMX, but I don't know about the golf.

A big thank you to Tomjackin for covering Puerto Vallarta (PR) so well. And thank you for directing me to his post. I've cancelled my plans for Cancun and instead looking at PR flights.

3 things:

1.) Club Aqua, Taboo, Candy's and Harem are on my must visit list. Should I add anything else?

2.) What are the options for an overnight companion in the room? To me the clubs are good for a quick pit stop but I also prefer to have a warm body in bed at night. Is that an option in PR? Or is it best not to have a companion in the room?

3.) On the hotel front. How is the Marriott, or Hyatt? Will I make a mistake if I choose to stay at a resort over something like Hotel Rio?

Might be too late for you by now, but for posterity. You can always get a Motel in any Mexican city for a 'short term' stay. Motel rooms in Mexico generally mean "hook up rooms". Discrete, clean, but generally short term. Most of the big resorts are 'wrist band' places. You won't get an escort in one easily.

I just got back from Tijuana and although the mongering scene is nothing special, I can appreciate the street girl action for what it is. As I read other threads in the Mexico section, it doesn't seem like most other Mexican cities have anything quite comparable to Tijuana, maybe with the exception of DF. Circumstances have me solo in a Cabo San Lucas resort next month. Looking through the CSL reports, it seems pretty difficult and inconsistant. I'm north of 50 with a hearing problem so I don't enjoy spending time in bars or clubs chatting up the chicas to negotiate.
