Bad news for the peso and good news for mongers. 2009 is quickly shaping up to becoming a banner year for mongering in MX. $30/oil is very bad for many countries that rely on a substatial amount of their income from this particular commodity.

Posts: 25Transportation via Greyhound Mexico
Hello all
I hope this is the right forum to ask about transportation and drop off in Tijuana. First of all this will be my first time to Mexico, I will be staying 3nights in Mexicali to see some of my friends and 3nights in Tijuana then back home to Canada. I've already posted some questions earlier from another area. I hope you all can help me with this one. I'm staying at Hotel Catalina in Tijuana and the address is Emiliano Zapata, Zona Centro-Baja California. I'm taking a AUT INTERESTATALES DE MEXICO from Mexicali to Tijuana. Do you know where the bus stop and is it close to my area? I'd probably have to take a taxi right or can I take a local bus after I get off the 5. 5hr of driving? Your help is much appreciate please.

I meant to ask you if I could buy you a beer and or a bite to eat the next time I'm down there if you're not too busy. I've' been thinking of moving to Mexico for quite some time now and thought you might have a few pointers that you could give me.

I had Tania meet me in the hotel bar. We spent about an hour there before heading to my room for a nfew more hours of fun. She's a great gal and never having kids and living healthy she still looks great.
The next morning I had my work done. I only had the left side done because I still wanted to see what kind of work they did before I committed to everything. I had one broken tooth on that side and a number of old mercury fillings that shuold have been removed years ago and replced with non toxic ones.
Hell yea I went for the big sleep.I wasn't about to sit in that chair for four or five hours while they grond my teeth and it was really cool. They knock you out and then wake you slightly to make sure your fillings meshed all right then knock you back out, do more work, then keep waking you slighltly until the got every thing feeling right. I barely remember anything about the process, including going back to the room, but I had asked ahead of time if someone would help me with that if iI needed it and they said they would (though no special services would be included) so that's how I figurered I got back.
It's been awhile since i had that done (I'm a major procrastiinator), so I don't remember exactly wht I paid but it was about $1800.00 which kind of surprised me because I thought thatI had chosen the side that needed the least work but they told me that I had picked the siide that needed the most plus they do charge $100 or $150 per hour to bring in an anesthesiologist (it's the same price in the US) but it was well worth it as far as I'm concerenedI.
I do want to get down therer in the next couple of weeks, but I want to check out another dentiist that a couple said they had been going to for 14 yeous and couldn't speak more highly about. My reasoning being that Am. Bio Dental wants to yank one of my teeth and replace it with a "removable implant". The husband told me that he had a tooth that every one else wanted to pull but she was able to save it for him and I' rather keep mine if I can. Her name is Dr. Corinne Vizcarra D.D.S. and her webste if any one is intested is www.biological-dentistry-vizcarra.com (copy, pste and google that as the link seems to take you to a dfferent site for some reason) her phone # is 011-52-664-6-84-20-79
By the way, there seem to be a number of hotels in the SD area that offer free shuttle service to and from a number of medical facilities if one does't care to stay in TJ.

Just wanted to know the latest update on requirements to re-enter the us from tj. I heard nothing else is necessary other than ca license until Jan. 31.
Can anyone confirm this? Can I get back in from TJ with just a driver's license?
Thanks.

Posts: 23Re: Reliable dentists in Mexico (TJ)
I can recommend The American Bio Dental Cener (www.americanbiodental.com) in the Grand Hotel Twin Towers, 4558 Agua Caliente Blvd., Suite CC 1B. They have as modern equipment as any dental offices I' been to in the US. Your 1st viist for a cleaning (done with lasers, not the old pick type) X-rays (Panoramic - takes about a minute) plus the consultation and privce for the necessary work costs $50. They also have twilite sedation if you want to get it all done at once plus a discout on rooms at the Grand ($75 instead of $105 if you choose to stay).. I's a nice hotel w/ 24 hour room service and I had no problems bringing chicas to my room and they loved th upscale environment. Many of them speak fluent English. Check out their web site for much more information. Thier prices wre about 80% less than what I was quoted in the US.
Hope this helps.

Like anything in Mexico, COMMUNICATION is the key. All these guys and girls speak English and most are USA trained, taking what they learn back to Mexico. I understand that Dentists actually make more money than MD's.
So let me know and I'll try to hook you up OK?

Posts: 278Teeth fixed and a fun trip
Greetings,
I was thinking of getting my teeth fixed and having fun along the way. Please share with me ideas. I heard a lot about TJ. Do you think this is the best city (closest, cheapest, ... etc.)? By the way I do not speak Spanish and this would be my first trip to Mexico. I am a major contributor in usa forum.
Thanks in advance

Posts: 3851I dont know if you've seen the news today but there was a mention that passport rules will not take effect till 08 due to the trouble they had this summer with people not getting them processed in time to travel. I read it on yahoo excuse me if there is a twist to the story. I read it very fast.
As with all news make sure you can verify it and I would say a passport would insure you less hassle and quicker immigration time.
