Given the current climate of mexico I would not want to take that ride out into the middle of nowhere, LOL.

I have been there a while back, a couple of decent girls in there but slim pickings otherwise. There is only one club. I was in NP Saturday and saw a couple of good looking dancers go into the new mens club. It's on the West side of the main street about 5 or 6 blocks south of the bridge.

Anybody been to the Boystown in Progresso? Any new reports?

I haven't been to Boystown for months, but there has been quite a bit of flooding in the area. The bridge is out just past Boystown to you cannot drive directly to Rio Bravo, and the toll road is closed between N. Progreso and Reynosa. It wouldn't surprise me too much if Boystown is closed because it sits low and looks like it would flood too.

With that said there is a new club on the main street that is open Friday and Saturday nights.

I agree with you but only to a certain extent. "definately not safe" this is where I do disagree with you 100%. About jacking the high priced trucks, it happened once, maybe twice, and hasnt happened since. The guys who jacked the trucks werent really any kind of cartel, but were involved in the "game".

I do go alone, and have recently been going late at night, sometimes come home at early morning hours. I do stick to downtown acuna though. I haven't been to BT in quite some time, but I know several buddies who frequent the hill and they say it is safe. I would tend to believe them than most of the "rumors" going around that acuna has become a second nuevo laredo.

Bottom line really is this. If you are looking for trouble in acuna, you will find it, but be prepared to face any consequences. If you stick to just going to have a good time and bang a few bitchez, then you are pretty much safe.

I do concur with this. Stick to the tricks and you won't get kicked.

There has been allot of debate over this. I have lived in Del Rio for over 10 years. Up until the last year it has been very safe. Just the usual brib, money shake down, etc. by the police. However now I would say it is definitely not safe. They seem to high-jack nice trucks if you drive over. Use a taxi and you might have to wait awhile if you need to leave quickly from trouble. I deal weekly with some of the wealthy Mexican Nationals who come over here. They all agree it is not safe. You always have your 10% that says no problem. Someone will not agree with me but if you do go, be able to speak spanish, safety in numbers and do not go late at night. daylight is better. I would not go to the "Hill". Stay on the main drag and hit a bar like Jessie's with the "Door Girls". Go to San Antonio and hit Guad--- and Roosvlt and be careful also but allot more safer than Mexico, just watch out for Leo.

I go to N. Progreso about every week or two and you'd have trouble getting into trouble if you tried. The town has been generally very peaceful and super tourist friendly.

There is a new night club on the main drag through town, on the right side of the street as you head south (away from the US border and going towards the toll road). I hate to admit that I have forgotten the name of the place but it's somewhat close to the Red Snapper restaurant (a little before the restaurant as I recall) and is only open on Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday.

I haven't been down to N. Progreso's Boy's Town for some time but the word is that they were flooded a few months ago so be aware.

No recent experience driving my US vehicle in Mexico. Seems kinda dumb to drive your own car into Mexico. Even before or absent cartel-related violence. I would say the warnings of vehicle theft and carjacking are probably warranted, but, thats why they have taxis.

Just drive a heap. And, they wont bother you. I drove my 2011 5.0 they hassled me for a little bit. The beef is between their own gangs not with us.
