If you ever get a chance, try going to Chihuahua City. It is only three hours from Ojinaga. The ride is quite hair-raising as you cross some serious mountains.

Chihuahua itself is a decent sized city, with reasonable budget hotels south of the cathedral.

Hi again guys. Well I will try and do my best remembering all the details on Ojinaga, Chihuahua MX.

Depending on where you drive from, may not be very far, from Del Rio TX i'd say about a 5 hr. drive west. Crossing Presidio TX you get into Mexicos largest state, Chihuahua and into a decent sized city of Ojinaga. Very historic city with sites all over and a few canyons to site see about 20 miles out of town. Good food and great prices for shopping, etc. Onto the good stuff now.

The BT here is very easy to get to, sorry i do not remember the exact names of roads/streets, but will try to use landmarks that are easily visible. Crossing the bridge(NO TOLL !!) into "OJ", you are on the main drag. Driving straight ahead, you go down several blocks and onto the first street light, this is where you turn left; if this is not the correct light, drive until you come to the street light that has a huge block structre that says Ojinaga on it, its also next to a large dance hall sort of place. Turning onto this road, go straight ahead for about a mile until you come to a large 2 story building(metal roof, believe its a slaughter house), on the right side, and to the left if the entrance to BT. Several bars here which names slip my mind, but there is 4 on top and one on bottom.

This BT seems boring to me, but i do not think you can beat the prices, beers are 20 pesos($2US) but drinks for chicas are still steep($5US). Prices for girls are great as well, most expensive i heard was $50 all inclusive for a decent girl. I personally have not "dated" a girl while at this BT so i cannot vouche for nice rooms, good service, etc. As for rating the girls, id say best was about 6, which i didnt mind, some a little chubby, but very cute. These bars are very small, and nothing compared to other border towns such as Acuna or PN, and therefore have less girls in them, about 8 per. The best girls, with less amout of people for some reason is on the bottom of the "hill" named the Oasis. Ones on top have live music, and all the locals are up there trying to get freebies(which is not a hard thing to do). Overall, total rating is a 5.5/6. One last thing, this BT closes at MIDNIGHT!!! This is when the nightlife begins, and girls get off the clock so to speak. Once again, the clubs close at 2am thier time.

Now lets go to the local clubs. There are 3 that I know of, Foro 5, El Milenio, La Estancia. These are also very easy to find. Coming from BT, go back the way you came, make a right at that huge metal building, and go all the way back to the main drag. (These are directions to get to Milenio & Estancia) At the light, turn left and go straight quite a ways. These are not very hard to miss, i found them on my first visit to OJ alone, but have not yet been inside of them, but from what I hear, very nice local girls and some workers who are off the clock in both clubs. Now the one that I believe gets most packed full of girls is Foro 5. This is THE club to go to. Chock full of locals and the working girls who go to have fun after work. Directions are basically the same as going to the two other clubs, but when you get to a street called Rietes y Trasvinas(i believe this is it), make a right onto it, you will notice alot of traffic since this is a cruising drag for locals. Follow this road all the way up to a church or old time governors palace type building(in a plaza) and you are there, you will see alot of traffic the closer you get and alot of cars parked, you cant miss it. Cover and drink prices are great. I have had great experience at this club, everytime I have gone, without fail, I pick up a local or off the clock girl i saw at the BT, never have had to pay. I have either just gone outside and banged the girl in my car, or if not, ended up partying with them at thier houses with some of thier friends and having some fun as well. I rate this place a definate 8.5, very awesome! Also on the block opposite of the club, there is a hotel named Hotel Ojinaga, rooms here were $12 and was very nice, have stayed with some girls there overnight. If you are lucky enough to have a girl from BT like you, like a GFE, they will take you to the party spots with the other girls(in your car of course),such as to the clubs, and after, you can get after hours alcohol and party with them, I personally have done this several times. I feel this is a very safe city. The girls are nice and the locals don't mess with you. Also, LE doesn't harass you(or at least not me), and I have been around at 4am, drunk and with women in my car. I felt safe and ok in this town alone.

I ocasionaly go to Del Rio Acuna area. I have traditionally not liked it as well as Nuevo Laredo, but I think it is because I do not know the town as well. I have been out to the zone a number of ocassiones. With the first being most memorable as I felt we were being takien out in the migddle of nowhere for who knows what?

Let me know what you think of the place. I once heard there were lots of independants downtown in the bars. I s that the case?

I made my first trip to Acuna last weekend. This was my second weekend of sin in 2 weeks, as I was in PN the week before. I drove down with a friend and we arrived at around 6:00 PM Saturday. We checked into the Best Western for $65 per night. I realized that we could have got a lot cheaper hotel, but since we were sharing a room, the price was fine with me. Security seemed good there too.

I spent alot af time in Acuna your a few years.My hotel recomendation would be San Jorge right across the street from Tequala club. Its not the nicest hotel but not to bad.Tel#0115287725440. The guy that works in the day is Carlos and his english is not very good,the night guy is Max and he speaks english very well. If your going on a friday or saturday call and make a reservation ahead of time or you wont be able to get a room. I think they charge 30$ a night but if your a regular customer you can get a discount. I only pay 25$ a night. The reason I recomend this hotel is the location and a friendly staff. The problem with the other hotels is that if you go any farter than this at night you are out of the tourist area and WILL get harrased by the police very often. They have parking that is located right by San Antonia hotel it is free and locked,very safe place to park. If you do not have TX plates do not drive at night you WILL be harrased by the police.

If boystown interest you go during the day not at night, the place is packed with toutist on the weekends and pickings can be rather slim and expensive. Do not go up the hill to the bars on the top, its just not worth it. The bars are trash and not really any women worth looking at most of the time. This can also be unsafe at times too.I have had knifes pulled on me, fights,and people try to get a group together to rob me. I'm well known so it didn't work but you have been warned. The bars at the top of the hill are for locals and not the higher classed ones either. As far as getting there usually driving is the best if you have a car with TX plates but not worth it if you dont, way to likely you will have problems with the police at night. In the day you should be fine. All you have to do when you cross the border is go one light past dominoes pizza and turn left, go all the way down to the next light and you will see a big cenent wall across the street and take anothe left, go till the road T's off and take a right,Boystown is on the left right befor you leave city limits indicated buy somekind of arch over the road. There are 2 dtiveways the first one is for the going down and the second one is for going up. The bigger clubs at the first level is where the girls will be at,but you gan walk around and bar hop all of them. When you leave take the right hand side road and at the bottom take a right and that road will bring you back to downtown a few blocks from the hotel.A cab ride there usually cost 10$ to get there but when you want to go back they can get stupid and its a long walk so I dont recomend it.

Acuna really only has one good night if your there to party and thats saturday night. Very little on Friday. During the week is pretty much pointless unless you have some friends there.

If you stay at the hotel I recomended and your there on a Friday or Saturday theres no need to take a taxi or drive anywhere. All the places except one worth going to are within 3 blocks. The best spots on Friday will be Ponchos just leave the hotel take a right and it will be on the same side of the street as the hotel. Ponchos is a mainly Mexican crowd and one of the nichest bars in town. If your not really into the club scene Jessies is ok mustly a locals hangout but friendly, its located to the left of the hotel about a block and a half on the same side of the street as the hotel. If you like a true local wild west kinda bar EL Lugar is the place, kinda roudy though. To get there take a left from the hotel to the donimoes and take a left staying on the same block go one block cross the street and its about a quarter of a block on your left.

Saturday night every bar is packed take your pick. This will be yout best time to get freelancers.Easy to do and you dont need to know spanish to do it. There are many pimps around. The bar at the bar Jessies there is a guy that always rides a bicycle that works there and he is a pimp and can bring a women to you just tell him what you want and there are usually some working girls there. Across the street from the hotel is Up&Down, there will be a guy named Tony siting outside just sit on the balcany of the hotel and yell Tony and you will see who he is, he'll either come over or atleast answer you and you can go talk to him, also theres a little kinda asian looking guy that will know the working girls there too but his english isnt very good. Tequela Club any of the people working outside the bar can help you too if they speak English, usually there is atleast one guy. A white guy named Johny works there too and he can help you he knows all the working girls. Also there is a guy that sells rose a tall shinny Mexican with a cowboy hat,he usually hangs around Ponchos and he can find you a girl too. Expect to pay about 50 and tell them you want 2 or 3 hours. Heres another big advantage of staying in my recomended hotel, when you get to the hotel tell Max to call the room when the times up and give him the money for the girl. He will explain it to the girl and you dont have to worry about her screwing you over. You can trust Max. This is a much better option than boystown to me and I spent enough time in the town I have been everywhere, dont speak spanish and I drive my own car while there.

The only place worth driving to is a place called Choparra, I shure I spelled it wrong but it is a great classy local hangout thats usually only open saturday night and have a rodeo out back at midnight, and usually dies down pretty past after that. Not a place to find women but there is awsome eyecandy there and a must see IMO. It would be very hard for me to explain how to get there but find any local that comes up to you and speaks English if he wants to go and you'll take him out there and after that you can drive it on your own. The cab will be steap but if your going to be a regular visiter it will pay off in the long run. I've been there when there was well over 5000 people there and I was the only white guy there. They have some of the most popular bands in Mexico that play there to, its a really cool place.

If your interested in shopping there will be a guy that sells jewlery on the street named Roy, he speaks good english. He's alway between Ponchos and the hotel almost everyday.Theres about 5 guys doing the same thing but its only like 3 blocks you won't have any problems finding him just ask the guys selling things out of a breif case, I think he's the onlyone that speaks English. Hell point you in the right direction and is a great guy ask him if he want to go drink a beer or 2 and you'll be fast friends with him, hell even buy you a few rounds to which is rare in Acuna. If your looking for a good place to eat just tell him what you like and he'll tell you where to go and how to get there.

If you need a dentist the hotel will set it up for you and you even get a discount going through the hotel. Its probably about 10 blocks away from the hotel so take a cab there and just walk back,findind a cab would be kinda hard, buy the time you did you would only be a few blocks away anyway.

The easiest ATM machine to use is take a left from the hotel at the corner take another left and at the end of the block before you cross the street is one that is safe to use day or night,At night you have to swipe your card and the door unlocks and locks back behind you, Its glass but safe.

If this is a party run and women arent a must during the week the 2 busiest bars are EL Lugar and Jessies. EL Lugar is pretty rough any day of the week so you might not want to hang out there. All the bars except in boystown,which is 24/7, close at 2 during the week and 4 on the weekends with the exception of Ponchos, they sometimes stay open till 6AM if they have enough people there. If your in the mood to party all night during the week just go to Tequela club,they lock it in and party late almost everynight. Its a good way to meet some people from Del Rio,they come over after they get off work most nights. The owners name is Paco, he speaks good English and is a great guy. Just tell him Brian withe the long curly hair in a pony tail sent you and hell know who your talking about.

Once you learn your way around, Acuna is a pretty fun place,not the best place for a monger but once you get to know the people anything you want can be obtained 24/7.

Acuna is probably safer than your home town,the exception is the police, the are fucking horrable. If you follow my advice you will not have any problems with them. If you do happen to have any problems dont look scared, argue a little with them, and just ask how much is my fine and then ask if you can just pay it there. Usually 20$ is all it takes for anything except property dammage. Don't get scared if they put you in a vehicle. If your not in handcuffs your not going to jail just a few blocks away.A trick I learned the hard way is to put 100$ under the toungue of my shoe just incase. If they search you they will steal your money weather there going to take you to jail or not. The 100$ will be enough to bail you out of jail if it happens. They wont search you shoe,you can bail out from 8am to 8pm. If it happens it will be late and you'll only be stuck a few hours anyway, don't worry everyone will be sleeping and you'll be out before they wake up. If this happens and the odds are like winning the lotto if you follow my advice, when you get out, walk straight out the front door 2 blocks take a left to the main road take another left and walk to the big grocery store and you can get a cab back, just show him your hotel room key and give him 100 pesos and you dont have to speak spanish.

My first post on WSG, I dont mean to double post but I wanted to explain that I already posted some info about Acuna on another site.It was really directed for the non Spanish speaker but from reading the post here about Acuna it seems that little is know about Acuna.So even a Spanish speaker might find it usefull,If you use my guide for a starting point.

Good news for those of us who drive to acuna BT. As recently as two weeks ago I noticed two new street lights on either side of the road going up the hill to BT. It used to be so dark out there that if you hadnt driven before you might as well not try at night. Also there is a flashing yellow caution light next to one of the lights. You cant miss it now.
