Ok for the first time, I tried nuevo progresso and I was not dissatisfied.
Parked safely at the US side (2 dollars whole day) and crossed the bridge. Very few tourists around this time. It was about 7 PM and I just wanted to get a feel of this place and starting walking around aimlessly. I did not see any taxi stand to ask for mongering information though I saw a lot of cars parked on the street infront of various restaurants and shopping malls.
I walked about 3 blocks and I saw a strip club by name Senorial. I was hesitant to go in but was invited repeatedly by the maseros standing outside. I get there and order a drink. Its 2 dollars for guys and chica drink is 4 dollars. I saw only one other customer there besides me. There were atleast 15 girls and 7-8 of them very pretty.
However a ugly girl comes uninvited and starts talking to me. She sits inspite of me not giving her any attention. I get tired and order a beer. She gives me a lap dance there and I finish my beer and say goodbye. Another girl caught my attention and we start having conversation. I buy her beer and she is very excited. She tells me she is from veracruz and would head back there soon because of lack of customers and business. She gives me great lapdance and wants to go arriba. She quoted 750 pesos for an hour. Fucking masero wants another 200 pesos for the house. I think he scammed me there. He spoke perfect english and was raised in united states. Be aware about this guy. Anyways me and the girl head to the room upstairs. Not the best condition I have seen but I had not much expectations anyways. The girl gives me excellent experience. Full GFE. We finish in 40 min and she goes to take shower and wants to come back. I am done and I say good bye to her. Overall it was good experience. Its 9. 30 PM now and I start walking back to the bridge. I see that the ambience has changed and all the shops are closed and its like a ghost town. Its less than 5 min walk and I cross the bridge with no problems.
Details of the club.
Club Senorial. Located less than 3 blocks from the bridge.
Open wed to sun 11 am to 10 pm.
Regular drinks 2 dollars and chica drinks 4 dollars.
On site rooms and sex available for 800-1000 pesos for 1 hr, room fee included.
Thanks.

CBP has details of individuals' border crossings on line.
I have crossed border a few times without passport. CBP would ask personal information and pull up info and pictures for verification then let me go with some bitching.
But if anyone keep crossing back without passport, CBP can cause a big inconvenience, like a few hours delay, and perhaps administrative fines...

Posts: 201pogresso report from another website
This info is from ECCIE dated less than a month ago.
So decided to go Tocayos a bar right in front of Senorial Mens Club, the waiter was friendly and asked one of the girls to have a seat with me, the drink was $3.50 for her and my Mexican beer was $1.25.so we chatted foe awhile and I asked her how much for service, stated that it was $85 US, then the waiter comes by and says $125.I then told her this place was dry due to the high prices (almost no clients at the bar). The girl told me that at night when Progresso shuts down, the boss takes them to another bar in Rio Bravo, where they charge $200 pesos for full service which comes out to $18 US, and also to take a girl out to your place / hotel was $1200 pesos for 2 hours. This really is insane, the reason why they charge so much in Progresso are foolish Americans get taken advantage of. Anyways after that I had a terrible experience with her and the jerk waiter, she agreed to $45. I go to the back with her and 4 minutes into the service the jerk waiter pulls the curtain on me and says, it was only for 1 song, I felt embarrassed and foolish at the same time.Anyways stay away, unless you want to pay $125 for an $18 dollar girl., or get scammed and have blue balls for the rest of the day.

I hear lot of people traveling to this small safe town. This is relatively safe and tourist place famous mostly for medical tourism. It has some good restaurants. There is just one street where tourists are plenty and cartel presence is minimal because its closed space with just one street. I have been unable to find any action here though. I don't even know if there are any strip clubs / escorts. Somebody with an idea should shed some information. This is the only place I can think of visiting in presently violence plagued texas border towns.
Any facebook pages? Escorts? Strip clubs? Pick up bars, anything at all?
Please contribute. It will be very helpful to texas mongers.

If I ran that place, I would advertise in several cities including San Antonio, San Angelo, Midland, Odessa, Austin, etc. I would offer to assist gringos in the process of getting a passport card (these are only $35 bucks compared to about $200 for a passport). Having to have a passport has totally turned off gringos from coming. Back in 2006, before the passport needed came into effect, there were all kinds of gringos coming to Hunters and packing the Corona Club from the small city of Del Rio. So advertise and educate. I would even offer a van service. Tino has no clue and could care less. Such a shame.
For some idiotic reason, even after I say all of the above, I get excited to go to Hunters, even after a usual letdown. Go figure.

Posts: 576Don't go to Acuna! 1
Stuck in Odessa TX for 5 weeks. Drove down for the day a few weeks ago to Del Rio and crossed into Acuna.
2 years ago I had a colossal waste of time at Hunter's Lodge, so I tried to give the downtown bar scene a chance.
Walking around a guy tried to pick pocket me, he went for the one pocket that was empty anyways and I looked at him and he bluffed it off as acting like he was tapping my shoulder to show me where the cool places were.
I was solo, but went into each "Ladies Bar" with the backstory I was looking for my gringo friend that wandered off just to have an excuse to look inside.
Did NOT see any ladies / girls, just grizzled old men winding down the day with a cold one and some billiards.
One older lady who spoke English (likely deported) asked me if me and "my friend" were looking for girls and she said she had 5 girls to choose from, but 7pm is early, give them 15-20 minutes they'll be here. Some where around the 90 minute mark, I started to ask this lady if she could call to see if they were on their way, without calling anyone she insisted they're on there way here and she started groping me, and I jumped up saying I'mm going to do a 20 minute walk around to look for my amigo one more time I'll be back in 20 minutes hopefully with my lost friend.
Girls never materialized and I just walked back to the bridge. No hassles from BP. Drove a total of 7 hours, got nothing.

As a few days ago, I haven't noticed crosbys closed at all, maybe you confused it with another place?
El centro is pretty OK I would suppose, but if you ask the girls its dead for them, so that makes it better for us, as itll be a buyers market so to speak; get down to Tochos or Jessies and you can have your pick; just not anything really above a solid 6, but worth it when you have a good cheap beer buzz and only want to spend about $20 including the room.

There are only a couple of guys who are legit and some of those are in jessies bar, and some of the meseros around the places.

Posts: 576Re: Low down on Hunter's Ranch
I'm sure some other Texas outdoors resources will tell you, but the key word in Hunter's Lodge is "HUNTING." The club's business is based on Hunting Season in Del Rio and greater Val Verde County, and when hunting is in season, the lodge is hopping, BUT when it's not hunting season the lodge is a dank. I, unfortunately, found that out after the fact, and experienced HL in it's dank mode. So scan the hunting season's calendar THOROUGHLY.
Year round though, there are some bars on Guerrero St the taxi cab drivers will recommend if you're looking for action. Most of them speak English and already know what you're in Acuna for if you look the role.
Hope this helps.

Posts: 74What's the Lowdown on Hunters Ranch?
I haven't been to Hunters Club in about 3 months and was wondering if anyone has been there recently and can provide an update. Last time I was there the place was miserable. Maybe 4 women in the whole place on a Friday. Tino the owner has been a major contributor because of his high ass drink prices and room prices, etc. Also, Crosbys restaurant has been closed. The whole city is like a ghost town now. Any update would be appreciated.
