Coco. Please tell me more. I've been going to Havana for many years and love the scene. I've also been to Camaguey and it was a ton of fun. I'm flying into Varadero in a few weeks and thought of going to Cienfuegos but someone said that Mantanzas and Guanabo is great. I'm just worried that we won't be able to bring our friends back to the casa. I've read where the girls are nervous to give their card.

Any extra advise would be greatly appreciated. Gracias.

I have been there 3 times since September because once you try this place it's hard not to come back. The main park, where Wi-Fi is available for 2 cuc an hour, has become the center of the action where chicas hang around either to get connected on there phone or just waiting for you at the 2 bars located at the entrance of the park on the left side or at 'La Cocinita' about one block away on the other side of the street. Girls come mostly from Havana, but some from as far as Camaguey. Police is present but if you keep a fair distance from the chica walking to the casa particular, they won't bother. I had no problem getting a casa particular 2 blocks from the park (20 cuc for a few hours, 30 cuc for the day) and the lady owner had no problem with chicas but they have to get registered with their ID called Carné. Be careful at La Cocinita as many 'chulos' (pimps) do operate and will overcharge you which happen to me the first time I went there, but most chicas work on their own and you can get excellent deals like 30 cuc for the whole night.

Concerning the all included hotels in the nearby area. Atlantico will accept chicas but again with proper ID. Tropicoco has been renovated and is now called Marazul Playa Del Este, but it is still an ugly building getting repainted. As mentioned in a previous post, it is not anymore the crazy place it used to be 3 years ago. You can also take your chica to Villa Bacuranao about 12 km from Guanabo going towards Havana. It will cost you 39 cuc for her for the day with breakfast included. Little bungalows and a nice deep swimming pool but the little beach is not that great.

I have been a regular at Guanabo before the police crackdown (well, nearly 10 years ago) and enjoyed it a lot at that time. I stopped going there because I could not walk with a girl at night because police would arrest her. Also Casa owners were also more and more reluctant to allow girls in my room without registering them.

From reading posts it sems it is a bit cooler now, is it true? Could some recent visitors tell me how it is now?

I stayed twice in two separate casa. One was $18/ night for full apartment the other I talked down to $50/ night but had light effects, jacuzzi outside which I had fun in, etc. Two clubs in town that you can pick up. However, I picked up just walking around. Morning, afternoon, night. Just ask a lady to come to the house for drinks KS and worked every time. Easy, easy.

Thanks for posting. Can you be a bit more explicit? Did you stay in Guanabo and if you did was it a casa particular or a hotel? (How much for casa or hotel?) Or did you go back and forth from La Habana? Was there a happening place you went to or just picked them walking?

I have seen a couple of mentions around the net lately that the Tropicoco has been bought by Spanish interests and will soon be closing / remodeling into an (alleged it is Cuba after all) 4 star property including new pools, reno'd rooms and closing the street off in front of the property to allow unfettered access to the beach.

Does anyone have any intel on what is going on with this quirky yet well located hotel that has in the past been friendly to our peculiar hobby?

Also I wish I'd have thought of this before the "Edit" button was no longer usable, but is the "main street from the beach" people referring to being North of Av. 5 on Calle 470, or Calle 506? Those are the only two streets I figure people could be referring to, but I'm not sure.

Hey all! Like many Americans, I failed to make good on my promise to visit Cuba "before we start fucking it up", and hear many stories from my opposite-coast brethren in Florida that the landscape of Havana is already very rapidly changing. However on my last trip to CO, I found myself showing around a fellow ISG member who was new to MDE but spoke positively of his experiences this past winter in Guanabo, where he was picking up the sweetest girls from the beach and swooping them to his casa particular for a very reasonable price point.

It also sounds like Guanabo is one of the last few places where actual dollars can be offered to girls unchecked. I was wondering if there was anyone around who could give me additional advice as to whether or not this is still a situation that freely exists or not, as there aren't many Guanabo posts after the beginning of Cuba's gradual opening. More than happy to supply tips about MDE or the DR's North Coast (and to a lesser extent most of the hotspots in SE Asia that aren't Jakarta) in exchange. Looking to go at the beginning of December, so hopefully like other places in LatAm, the girls are eager to put some Christmas money in their pockets.

I was there at Hotel Tropicoco from Dec. 24/15-Jan 1/16. Don't bother trying to get security to bring a girl to your room anymore. I tried and they won't do it. It's not like it was year's ago. But you can pay 65 cuc at the reception desk to have a chica stay with you if she is willing.

I was at Tropicoco in December 2014 and enjoyed the atmosphere with all kinds of chicas staying at the hotel and easy to meet in the lobby.

Went back 2 weeks ago to witness dramatic change as hotel will not rent a room to local ladies for less than 4 days (even if they have a tourist companion) as police has put pressure to eradicate visible prostitution. Lucky enough I met a 'normal ' 25 years old girl from Havana at Villa Bacuranao where I was staying this time. Spent the whole week with her. She was more on the jinetera side so no money involved, only food, drinks and gifts. I spent about $400 on her for a full week of hard full time fucking. This includes the 28 CUC I had to pay daily for her to stay with me.

It looks like the only option for hobbying in Playas del Este these days is Guanabo and places like el Cubano. Don't expect to find any chica in hotels included in packages such as Tropicoco, Atlantico and Club Arenal, and you cannot even bring them in on a daily basis. At least this is still possible at Villa Bacuranao.

So I will say, your best bet is Guanabo where you can get a casa particular for a few hours or for a full day at about 20 CUC.

I only went to el Cubano once and it was not very busy, although I did hook up with a chica. As for the price I don't want to say exactly what I paid (more than 40) but I will say I'm not very good at negotiating. I'm a sucker for a pretty face. LOL. Everyday I would walk all along the beach from the hotel to Guanabo but not one girl would even look at me that is when I even saw one. To many police and I was told they have hidden cameras so the chicas are to scared to get caught with a tourist. That being said I never saw a camera but you never know. Anyway it was a much better place to go 10 - 20 years ago. But those days are over. Don't get me wrong there still chicas around but not many.
