There is a handy guarapo stand just north of Via Blanca on the main road from the highway into Guanabo.

As you head toward the beach, it is 1 block north of hwy on the left side. Once you turn left, the stand is immediately on the right side.

Day 2 continued. (from Havana thread).

After exploring nighttime Havana, I go back to Guanabo. I friendlied a regular guy with a regular Russian Lada piece of crap and we negotiated 12 cuc for the 20 minute ride. I hit El Cubano. Almost true. Make this clear to the casa owner when checking in that you will bring your girlfriend also in the evening as you pay the casa for up to two persons. Most casa owner accept this but some of them also had bad experiences and do not allow any girl at all so best advice is to check before.

The I'd check is mainly for your security so the girls will not steal anything and will not make trouble when they know that the casa owner has their contact details from the ID.

I stayed in Tropicoco in September 2011 for 10 days. I payed close to $800 for an all inclusive package. I landed at Veradero airport and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to the hotel. I picked Tropicoco because it is on the beach and has a good access to city of Havana. The tourist bus was right in front of the hotel. 3 cuc for all day hop on and off. The bus took you to the central parque in habana vieja. Another reason was Tropicoco did not charge single occupancy supplement. The hotel itself was okay for its corespondent stars. Food was not too bad.

22 cuc for a day pass from 10 am to 5 pm including all the facilities, pool, changing room, drinks and a lunch.

47 cuc for an extra guest to share the room with food included. Many tourists checked in their young, hot cuban novias in the hotel.

There was a heavy presence of police on the beach especially during the day. It was packed the local families in the weekend.

I just come back from Havana Este, Playas del Este, Playa Santa Maria. I stayed at Islazul Terrace for 32 CUC a night (breakfast included). Accommodation was not bad at all, as well as breakfast was OK, except that like cook drop his spatula on floor. Picked it up and continued flipping omelet (guess cuban standards). What was interesting 1st night I booked trough canadian travel agency and reception told me if I won't visitor its 32 CUC extra. Second nite, when I paid 32 CUC for accommodation at the Front Desk, I was told I can have visitor for no extra cost with breakfast included for her too, but she needs to register at Front Desk. First night I picked negrita from beach for 30CUC until 5am and 10 CUC for security worked out perfectly.

On 2nd night I was in Guanabo disco, lots of local cubans and some of chicas were 9, 10 body and face, packed up, heaven on the earth. Some girls were under 16. But no one wanted even to talk to strangers (I smell few undercover cops and security staff) , so after having few drinks I walked over to Guanabo Cabaret (3CUC entrance fees) , filled up with tourists and lots of hard core pros and jiniteros. I visited Guanabo Club with my chica (I regret doing that) and it was far better chica wise and atmosphere than Guanabo Cabaret. Of course pros and jiniteros but there were some normal people there (2CUC entrance fees).

When I wanted to go to Playa del Este, Hotel Atlantico or Havana I would take (5min walk) Havana Tour Buss cost 3CUC and ticket valid whole day. Unlimited travel on relation Playas del Este to Havana Centre Capitol.

Spent a couple days last week in Guanabo. Pretty quiet overall but one night went to "Club Guanabo, " an outside amphitheater style club with giant video screens and some nice hip-hop style dancers. The point. All around the edge of the club area was lined with chicas, some really, really nice. I was in a mixed group so couldn't sample or do much, but in a brief walk around solo I got pulled in three times by friendly chicas who I'm sure would have made for more than a pleasant evening had the timing been right.
