I booked my trip to Havana for first week of May.

Sucks that a bunch of places have closed. Does anyone know if Don Cangrejo is still open?

Returning to Havana after many years. I'll be there late this week for about 10 days. If you are also in Havana let me know and maybe we can have drink together. I'm a little bit curious how things have changed since I've last been there. Everybody says it's gotten worse and that I should lower my expectations. We'll see what happens. I'm American so I'm going to get some euros to take with me. Other than that I'm not even sure what the weathers going to be like. I see a lot of places to rent on Airbnb. I'm going to pick one for the first night and then see how it goes. I'm looking mostly at Independent accommodations because there are the most likely to give full independence which is obviously important. However I noticed that most of the really elegant looking houses are not independent which makes sense because their large mansions where someone is renting out individual rooms. I figure it's February and it hopefully won't be too crowded so I can go there and look around for what I want. I'm hoping they'll be a day selection of friendly women. I would like to walk around so I figure the worst case scenario I'll take a few pictures and get a little exercise.

Was in Cuba of late. St Johns remains closed and should be for a long time, despite what a anybody says. A lot of that has moved to La Gruta. Which I sued to dislike, but can now be quite fun on he right night, albeit packed to the brim.

STGs are around: go for it if you can. And GFE remains the best option in Havana, seize it when presented in good fashion.

Good luck on your trip and make sure you report back both good and bad times you encounter there.

As far as the weather is concern what I do just before I go is check the weather site, weather.com, and click on the 10 day forecast and that way you get an idea how the weather will be just before you head there. I'll put a link below for the weather in La Habana for the next 10 days.

Usually this time of year the weather is quite pleasant as you'll see in the link below. Last year when I went at the end of January it got a bit chilly because they had a front come in from the north (called baguada in Cuba) and it flooded the area around the US embassy but was not too bad. Quite a site to see waves crashing over El Morro (lighthouse) and also over the malecon seawall.

BTW, this time of the year is high season for tourists so be aware prices for rentals are higher than for low season.

I'll be arriving on the 21st so if you are still there we can go chase some tail, ha.

If you have been to Cuba 5 times already, you should know at least a couple girls. I know that by my 2nd trip to Cuba I got to know a couple little hotties and I was getting pussy for free. Well, almost free, I did keep my fridge stocked with beer and food, TV, hot shower and let them stay with me in me Casa, they really like that plus they were cooking for me before it was over!!

Take me for example: I just came back from my 2nd trip also in January and for the most part just chilled with my "Cuban novia#1" (#2 was in Holguín). I just gave her 40 CUC everyday and we smashed at least twice a day and stayed with me almost the whole day (she was also cool as hell and very fun to hang with). Every day she was gone for a few hours and for those few hours everyday of this trip I picked up a few neñas off of La Rampa or used pedicab drivers to pick up barrio chicas in Havana Vieja. I came home from Cuba a few days ago. Where in Havana 4 weeks. It's a pretty hard country. For me the first trip. The women I found 30 cuc, do not be so nice and bad in bed, they are pro girls I just found. So Havana is nothing for me to hard. Next trip, I thought I was looking for happiness in Santiago. Hope the women there are not so bad and nicer in bed there. Excuse my bad English.

The heavy presence of police and military on the streets last week may be due in part to the Plaza Jazz Festival being on. There is concern about unrest as the venues were very spread out to the ball rooms of Copacobana, Melia Habana, various hotels in Vedado and in Habana Vieja. When did that ever happen? I am told that they did not want any massing of the population in any one area. The Jazz Festival normally happens the 2nd or 3rd week of Decemeber. How the hell can you have any success when no one knows when it is? Adding to the potentially volatile mix is that the restaurant Starbien was shut down and its owner jailed for money laundering. The issue is that the owner is the son of the Interior Minister.

Checked out some casas. Lots available and it seems that enforcement is a little bit lax. Confirmed that there are rules but they are not being heavily enforced given the potential for unrest as per above. That means anyone with any problem with the inspector could probably buy their way out for $20.

This will only be the mongering part of my trip. Other details are in a report in the Travel Questions and Advice section. I arrived at the apartment to settle in at about 1:30 pm Wednesday. The apartment manager showed me photos of a couple ladies. One I ruled out immediately because she appeared to be a little heavy. The other one looked good. I told him I would like to see her after I rested for a couple hours. He tried to contact her and learned she was in Guantanamo. So, no go on his contacts.

After taking a nap, I went hunting on Calle 23 at about 4:30. I walked from Calle H to the Malacon and back and did not see anyone who appeared to be working. I killed some time until after dark and went looking again. A couple of very dark-skinned overweights offered their services but they were not appealing. I wandered around for a couple of hours and saw a slender light-skinned lady somewhat hiding on one of the side streets. She agreed to meet me at my apartment. Once at the apartment and undressed, she wasn't as attractive. I opted for a BJ. It was not a good BJ, but it got the job done.

Thursday was so cold, there were no ladies offering themselves day or night. The Malacon was empty of people. I did see three models on Calle 23 advertising a line of jewelry. They were very pretty, tall and slim. So I knew there were some attractive ladies in Havana, but nothing for me Thursday.

Friday was warmer. I did the same routine of walking Calle 23 day and night. I encountered a few working ladies, but they were either ugly or overweight or both. I know, I am no Don Juan, but I have the money and can be picky. There were a few people on the Malacon, but no ladies who looked like they may be available. Same results as Thursday.

I was back to my routine Saturday. Saturday night, Calle 23 and the Malacon were overwhelmed with teeny boppers. I saw a few working ladies, but none to my liking. Also, there were a couple of cops stalking me every time I walked through their area. There were lines of people waiting to get into some of the clubs on 23, but there were more guys than ladies and more overweight ladies. A little after midnight, I had resigned myself to the fact I would die without having f**ked a Cuban lady. I found a restaurant with outside seating near the sidewalk and had a couple of beers and a ham and cheese sandwich in which I had to look really close to find any ham and cheese. Almost all the sidewalk traffic were the teeny boppers. I decided one more walking excursion on 23 about 2 am. At one of the intersections, I accidentally brushed against a young lady and she looked at me and smiled. She was with another lady, and they were walking on one of the cross streets away from 23. I observed them for a bit and decided to follow, because there was nothing else to do. Four blocks down the street they turned a corner. When I got to the corner, they were waiting about half-way down the block. We went to a near-by bar and the one I liked agreed to meet me at the apartment. She did not disappoint, age 23 with a slim body and small boobs that stood out perfectly. She returned to the apartment the following two days, both times 15 minutes earlier than the time we had agreed to. So I am no longer a Cuban virgin!

Tuesday evening, my last night, after my new friend had already taken care of me in the afternoon, I went to have some beer at a sidewalk bar while observing the happenings walking by. I didn't have any bullets left. While I was observing, two attractive ladies walked by at different times and gave me a look and smile. Now, I had observed the average woman would not smile at a stranger. My guess is the two were available, but where were they Thursday, Friday, and Saturday?

I will be in Medellin in 11 more days; and, for a while, I will forget all my misadventures in Havana.

My response is not completely relevant to your question. I will be in Havana next week. That will be the first time staying in Havana. I was on a cruise the only other time I was there. I will be renting an entire apartment in Vedado, near the university. It costs $30 a night. The owner said guests are permitted in the apartment. He did not tell me any restrictions, such as maintaining a list. I prefer an entire apartment because I am a rather private person. When I return, I will write a report with pertinent details. I don't plan to have internet access when I am there.

So how did the guest situation workout?

I stopped in there last Friday night and asked the guy working the desk about the club, and he said it will probably be open in another two weeks.

They also said Casa de musica would only be closed for 2 months for remodeling but that was almost two years ago and it's still not open. Don't plan your trip on Just Pica Blanca at St John's being open.

St John's got too hot for the authorities. It will be a new spot that everyone will gravitate to but it will take some time. Casa de musica and salon dojo also were shut down when they got hot.

Maybe they are monitoring this board also. St John's was getting a lot of play here. Personally I'm pissed, we give helpful info here to posters who never go or never leave a report so maybe it's time we also go undercover and just work the newest most popular spots on the PM back channel.
