Anywhere like La Rampa, Malecon, anywhere else in Vedado? Don't like to go to Miramar, but are there any great spots there?

Any good bars in La Rampa area? La Gruta used to go fun on rare occasions.

La Rampa (23rd) and calle L where the 24 hour La Rampa cafeteria is. In that area you can find chicas. Also near Parque El Quijote. The cafeteria is reasonably priced. 400 pesos for a meal. I went with the chicken breast, also comes with a drink. 100 pesos for 1 USD is the norm but not at official government exchange locations. You will get 24/1. I heard from locals that you can still exchange CUC at banking locations but expect to probably get 24/1. Best to negotiate with a local or taxi driver. Most places take USD and will give pesos back in change 100/1. Same with taxis if you want change in pesos. Cubacel sim cards are 1000 pesos and are good for like 330 days unless you continue to load it to extend service. You can load phones on Ding. Taxis are cheap. I was able to get around for 300 pesos average. Also took coco taxi.

I am thinking of going soon for my birthday, August 13th. I have had three shit birthdays in the last three years because of an ex.

Is anybody going up real soon? I've been talking to a few on a Badoo. I know almost zero in Spanish, so it's interesting but I am a decent-looking guy and confident; I've been messaged by one girl who is a nine and her so-so friend at a 7 for a three-some and overnight stay over. They came back with a price of 7000 CUP, converted at a rate of 1-100 CUP, it's about 70 USD.

True. If you're old enough to remember the special period days and early 2000's, you probably remember times like this. There were some obvious upsides but quality of life was not one of them.

Where are the best areas and best bars to meet girls? I know Havana well but have not been since 2019. I'm looking for some accurate info about the best spots. Is La Rampa still have anything going on? Anywhere else in Vedado? How's Old Havana these days?

I prefer to avid Miramar but what's happening out that way?

Heading to Havana in a couple of weeks. Trying to figure out how much $$ to convert to Cuban pesos. Wondering if you pay the girls in USD or pesos? Any advantage in giving them pesos, since the exchange rate is so high? Or do they insist on dollars? Or does it not matter. Most girls I have met in Cuba have highly developed mental calculators and can do the conversion in an instant.

Second question: Heading out to Camaguey. Anyone know a driver, please let me know. Thanks. Agradezco mucho.

1830 Restaurant is located near old fort, yes open air, loud music. East side of tunnel and North side Malecon Road.

Johnnies Rio Club actually West side of tunnel, 1 block off Malecon road, dance, drink, girls.

I think the club you are referring is Johnnys Rio Club which is right outside of the Miramar Tunnel. Not sure if its out of business but that placed used to rock 15 -20 years ago.

I guess it's the '1830' restaurant, where they have open air salsa concerts and tables, overlooking the sea.

First post here!

It's been about 3 to 4 years since I visited last. Havana is not the same as before, tourism has just reopened and finding new friends has become a bit more difficult. I'm staying at an Airbnb in old Havana.

Hustlers are still annoying, I was trying to find some weed but the only thing they could find for me was "hachi" some brown little balls that are supposed to be mixed with cigarettes, anyway, it was all bullshit at the end. So don't even try.

Exchange rates are about 1:100, someone tried to give me 1:90 but I walked away and the guy left it at 1:100.

I walked around old Havana trying to meet some new friends but all I could find was 30-40 yo pros 3-5/10. Nobody I would like to spend time with.

Today I'm trying Miramar and in a couple days Santiago.

Like some other users mentioned bottle water is scarce so I would recommend bringing a life straw or Britta bottle.

All in all I'm disappointed, I've been traveling to Cartagena and Bogota so I'm used to young babes. I was supposed to stay here for a month but if things don't improve I'll cut my trip short and go to Colombia instead LOL.

I'll update how things are in Santiago and Holguin.

Try your luck on Badoo, maybe you can find some hotties there. I haven't been to Cuba in a few years as well, but it has worked for me in the past. It was always a good back up.
