I think at this moment Bolabana and Shangri La are the most popular places in Havana? Don Cangrejo, Dos Gardenias, La Cecilia, Jhonny's, El Gato Tuerto and Casa De La Musica are also good places? Last time I visited Havana (March 2015) I was disappointed about Salon Rojo. Not so good it seems to be some years ago and a lot of hardcore girls visited the place. I also found the area a little bit unsafe? Questionable people hanging around in the streets and have a lot of things to offer you.

Surprised you did not try La Cecilia where there are usually wall to wall girls, or even Johnny's (what used to be called Johnny's or Rio Club or Club Irakere or whatever it is called now).

Don't know what is going on with Salon Rojo either. Last time I tried was during the Summit of the Americas. Cops were keeping the streets "clean" due to the number of television crews in town.

Guanabo is fun when it is hot out. That means nothing much going on Dec / Jan / Feb.

I am not going back until April 2016,just like SYNC said the Guanabo area could be fun and a lot of fellas do some of their hunting there. Other than that, I don't really have much experience with other areas other than Varadero and we can all agree that it is not hunting friendly.

I will try again in this post.

I will try to answer your questions.

1. I only really felt mosquitoes when sitting outside in a restaurant with a lot of trees and bushes nearby. Not really in the main urban parts though.

2. as mentioned, I am stunned also that Salon Rojo is closed most days. Maybe someone else can add something.

3. Parque central is very comfortable and great breakfast buffet. Casas are OK. I am happy with a few hours in one.

4. most casa have Air Con.

5. I don't remember what we paid for the rum sorry. Can't be a lot.

6. Spanish is very practical there. But many speak some English. You are at a disadvantage if you don't speak Spanish though.

7. I don't walk the malecon at night really. Especially alone.

8. I hear Guanabo is a nice area nearby. I think I may try it out sometime.

Traveled to Havana in June 2015 with some friends for a long weekend of fun. They had never been there before, and.

They wanted to see it before the Americans fuck it up. We actually saw and spoke to many Americans while there.

And they actually also agreed that they will screw it up if given the chance. Another Puerto Rico.

Lets hope the Cubans don't give it all up, and keep their own identity.

Anyways. Here is my story.

First night was a tuesday night. Plane landed at 9:00 pm as normal for Air Canada, and I went to the Parque Central hotel to check in.

I don't use casas for long term stays. I rather stay in a nice hotel, and only use the casas for the 1-2 hours that i need.

Night 1:

Once checked in, showered and dressed up a little, I headed over to Salon Rojo as I have had great times there in the past on pretty much.

Any night of the week. Arrived in a taxi, and the doors were closed. Other taxi drivers that were hanging around there said.

That it was going to be closed until saturday night. I found this strange as it had always been open daily before.

Especially thursday night! My friends were all arriving on Thursday, and i had planed on going here with them.

Nope. Closed. Weird.

OK, change of plans. Taxi driver suggested Dos Gardenias in Miramar or Don Cangrejo. Never been to either, but I chose.

Dos Gardenias as it was raining and Don Cangrejo is an outdoor club.

Arrived at 11:00 pm, and it was pretty quiet. Looks like a comedy club set up. Small tables, and a stage on one wall.

There was a guy singing, and this lasted for about 45 minutes, followed by club music and the tables were moved out of the way.

Very different than the salon rojo experience i had 2 years ago where there was a steady lineup of girls looking to talk to you.

There were about 15 or so chicas in there, all sitting around, and none making any real effort to make eye contact, or talk to me.

Very strange for havana. A few looked over with some curiousity.

I sat and scoped the room for the one I really liked, but hard to choose when they are all sitting down.

I figured I would change my location and stand at the bar. Making it easier to approch me.

Within 3 minutes, a super hot blonde came over and chatted me up. Exacty my type. Tall (in high heels), 21 years old, and thin.

Wow. OK, I'm good with this one. We danced a bit, we went outside to talk a little as the music in this place is crazy loud.

Normally i like to spend more time in the club, but as it was already 12:30, when she asked to go to a casa, I said yes right away.

I learned my lesson long ago about not talking about cash right away, so I asked how much? $120. I laughed, and said she was crazy.

She looked surprised that I thought that was a lot of money. It must be my millionaire good looks.

I said $50 and she had the look of horror on her face! She came back with $80, and I said OK. Only because she was a total 9/10 for me.

That being said, I always told myself "never get the 9's & 10's as the service is normally poor" I tell this to everyone. And here I am.

Going against my own advice. Ahhhh cuba. It will make you crazy.

Anyways. Get to the room, undress her. Jaw dropping amazing body. Super hard ass, and perfect.

Service was good, not amazing but pretty good. I left happy. (picture is attached).

Night 2:

After a day of salsa lessons, and sitting round doing pretty much nothing, I thought i would take my teachers advice and go to.

La Gruta with her to practice my skills. Bad move. Hold crap these people are good at salsa. I am OK, but they play really fast songs.

So unless you are very good, forget going there. I need to practice more in a smaller less hardcore club. Many gringas with Cuba dudes.

Who can dance very well. In salsa, if the guy can dance, he can pretty much make a girl who is so-so, look good.

The man leads. Thats it.

I stayed there for 2 hours, and got bored. I parted ways with my teacher, and caught a cab.

The driver asked what i wanted to do. I sid to find a hot chica. He said he knew one and he would introduce me. Great! Lets go.

We drove upto a small cafeteria, with 8 or so people standing around, and a few chicas. He called the one over and she was surprisingly cute!

She said $80, I said $50. She agreed and we left for a casa.

I have learned through experience and also read many many many times online to never ever pay first. Even jonesie stresses.

This in his e-book. Just read it a few days ago.

We get to the room, and she says. Money please. "sorry, I pay after, its my rule" I said. "I have it, don't worry".

Nope. "you pay now, that's my rule" she says.

OK, so now I have a choice to make. Pay her and (most likely) have a shitty and brief encounter, or stand my ground.

As they normally back off their position.

I said no thanks, and started getting dressed. She also starting getting dressed. I could not believe that she would give up.

$50 on principal. Well, she did. And we got into the taxi and dropped her off at her house (nearby).

I will just file this one as $50 saved, as I am pretty sure the service level would have been non-existent.

Cost me $25 for the casa though! That's it, from now on, I will say that I pay only after before I even leave the club.

That way, if she says no, I can choose another one.

This is the very first time this has ever happened to me, and was very strange indeed.

The night would become even stranger as I would find out soon enough.

The taxi guy drops me off at the Parque Central and I decide to walk down Obispo to find a girl I had spoken to early in.

The day. This dude stopped me earlier and said that he has a girl for me. She walked over and was very cute.

But she "looked" poor and abused. Not physically abused, but I think this dude was in charge and using her as his retirement fund.

I don't like using girls that come with a pimp, but it was already 2:30 am, and I had nothing to show for it.

Went looking for them, but I could not find them anymore. Gone to bed I guess.

In a last effort, I walked down the main road "Paseo de Marti" (where the capital building is) towards the malecon.

And just a little past the Parque Central hotel is a little cafetaria, with people standing in and around it.

I go over to see what's going on and there were a few cute chicas in there.

A 24 yr old black girl comes over to me and wants to know if I would like a massage. Sure I said. What about sex?

Sure she said. Of course if you want it. $80. No way I said. $60. Nope. $30 I say.

I leave, and she leaves also after 1 minute. I see her in the bicicle taxi far behind me.

Then, I can't see them any more. I wait 5 minutes. Still nothing.

Then, a police car is driving up the street. I go inside the building entrance just to stay out of sight.

I peek and see the car stop and the cops get out. They are coming this way. Ah shit! Now what?

So, I decide to walk out and meet them in the doorway of the building. They ask me what I am doing here. (all in Spanish).

I speak fair Spanish, and can understand them, but I pretend that I don't understand well.

They ask if I am waiting for a chica. I play dumb. I tell them that the girl and taxi driver said there is a party here.

And I was invited. They laugh and say, no party. Just trouble.

They ask were I am staying, and I tell them. Then they offer to drive me back to the hotel! LOL.

I get into the back of the cop car (lada) and they drop me off at the hotel! What service! I thought I would have to walk it.

I am assuming that the chica spent the night in jail. As normal for the girls who get pinched.

I cut my losses and went to bed.

Night 3:

After another day at the salsa school, and had a nap and then went to dinner on on of the cross streets from obispo.

Great lobster, shrimp and fish meal with a mojito for $10. Great price, and very good.

After eating i took a walk down to plaza vieja and did a loop back to the hotel. 2 cute chicas passed by me while on a side street and asked me where I was going?

I said "nowhere", and continued the conversation. They wanted me to go with them to a casa for $30 each.

Normally whenever i have had a 3 some in Cuba, it has not been a great experience. This time was a success.

We got bored, and opted to back to Don Cangrejo. Dead also, but not too bad. I guess the rain was killing the moods of the.

Girls to come out and party. Still managed to find some great chicas. Some of our friends didn't want to go to a private house (casa).

And opted to call it a night. Me and a close friend ended up in a casa close by, with 2 rooms.

Great night was had by all, and we headed home at 4:00 am (picture attached).

All of my friends wanted to watch the soccer game at 2:00 pm. I hate sports, so I thought I would.

Take a walk down the center of the main street (Paseo de Marti) near central park (Parque Central). It goes all the way down to the.

Malecon (sea wall) and then you can walk the malecon for 8 km if you choose.

While walking, a very cute chica was walking with her grandmother. She walked next to me for a long time, slowing.

And keeping pace with me the whole way. We exchanged glances, and finally she crossed the street and just before she disappeared from view.

She waved me over.

I crosed th street and found her in a pharmacy. We chatted and I asked her if she wanted to have a beer with me.

Yes, of course. So we go.

After a few hours of drinking, I dropped her off at her house, and she insisted on getting me to meet the mother, uncle, sister (super hot).

And family dog. Haha.

We made plans to go to Salon Rojo that night together.

Last night there. Saturday night.

Salon rojo was said to be open tonight, and had a famous band playing later on.

We ended up there after 10:00 pm, and the place was dead. Picked up quickly, although tons of Cuban couples.

Must be because of the entertainment. Not too many single girls but a few.

I am not sure what's going on with this place, but it seems to have changed it's mojo. Maybe someone else can comment on this change?

I was only there for a few days and have limited experience with it. I want the "old" salon rojo back!

Anyways, we stayed for a few hours. Band was OK. Seemed like the cubas really liked it. My friends found some single chicas.

To hang with, but as said. 80% couples.

I took my chica to a casa and stayed there until early morning. Flight was early, so no sleeping in for me and no morning fun either.

Well, that's it for my Havana trip for this time.

I like the area near Galiano, Casa de Musica is on Galiano near Neptuno. For the last 3 trips I have stayed in a casa particular one block west of Galiano and 3 blocks north there are chicas on the Maleon but not until 930 pm and best time would be closer to 2400, I met chicas on the street, in stores, sitting on their front step at their house for 3 hours or TLN with 6 chicas I met in this area and who lived within a few blocks, 4 of the 6 were multi repeat events. My casa was chica friendly, owner always took her carnet card. Casa de Musica chicas will ask 80 to 100 cuc that includes the "attitude", so did not partake, I paid 30 to 40 cuc for 3 hours and the same for TLN. One was a dancer in a dance troupe from Santiago de Cuba visiting her sister a half block from my casa who I stopped to talk with on their front porch. She never asked for any money, I always ask the chicas what would you like for a gift. She was very shy the first TLN, but the next night when she told me I know you now she was the wild cubana that I love so much. I gave her 30 cuc each morning she seemed wth that amount. All these chicas were in their 20's, the same age as my 2 grand daughters.

I haven't been in Havana for more then 5 years, now I went there for a Business trip. This means everything was bad for mongering. We stayed in a Hotel and we had a tight schedule, always People around us, Little time for ourselves. Only one evening there was a Little time for a stroll through the small streets from Havana centro and afterwards through malecon. I can not remember that Girls have been so offensive. Every some hundred meter in the streets there have been Girls interested in doing some Business, at malecon it was every 20 meter maybe. Due to Situation I did only talk to them, was not interested to rent a casa for some hours. But it seems that Options are much bigger then some years before.
