I was born there and I don't feel safe in Cuba. The island has way too many criminals and you being an outsider they know that you have what they want (money), one day you'll go into the wrong alleyway, or end up like Benjamin Tomlin, and you'll find out the hard way that Cuba is not safe. How do you know that Cuba is safe? Maybe because they do not broadcast it on the news? Maybe because of the abundance of police where tourists hang (stick to that area, but then again you have to draw the jineteras from the hardened, controlled by the police ones)? Nothing over there is what you (as an outsider) see.

Colombia is perceived to be "unsafe" because people still judge it from the Escobar's era. I didn't feel any safety issued when I was there and I went to the "not so good areas," you know, where easy women were to be found.

I still believe that Cuba is not worth the risks. I can find better somewhere else.

I know some foreigners who got Cuban residence and live in Cuba for many years. I also know some guys who went where and never had problems, except minor problems with custom control. I remember 12 years ago in Caracas in the center of the city, two policemen demanded that I show them my bag. When they found there tylenol pills against headache, they claimed that it was drug and wanted took me into police station. I was lucky that my Venezuelan friend was nearby, he argued with police and they left me alone. Such shit never could happen in Cuba. If you was born in Cuba, then probably yes, you actually can have more risks than foreigner, because Cuban official tend to kind of think and treat you as you are still Cuban.

The same with me. I feel in Russia there I was born, less safety than foreigners who go there, although I know better about dangers places.

Are you talking about Canadian Benjamin Tomlin? I think such cases is very rare. Mostly, the Cuban police is very respectful to tourist. Also big advantage that Cuba in generally much safer than SA. You can walk alone at night and nothing would happen. I think you can get into much more others troubles in Columbia than in Cuba. Even much more in Venezuela.

Speaking of Casa's, it has been my experience that the Chica's DO KNOW where to find Chica friendly Casa's. They network with the Taxi drivers and other Chica's and maybe even the Police who may be getting a cut of the action. It happens. I know of a couple situations where a small group of out of town Chica's (2 - 3) will pool their money and rent their own Casa in Havana. Nice Casa's in Vedado.

Probably mostly you talk about Havana. On one occasion in Tunas two prostitute and one Cuban guy could not find a casa at all. In another occasion they found but it was shithole and it was very far. In Santiago completely different. Some owners seem not afraid anything.

You have been around a long time sir. Its that Cuba is Unique and safe with hot passionate women in bed. The strength of the people is impressive. They have been through hell and are united in being Cuban. I have never seen a lazy Cuban that was from the island, they are are always doing something. My neighbor in Florida is from Cuba and she washes the car in the rain and when I asked her why she said she was bored LOL. The best sex of my life has been in Cuba and I don't know why. Some say its that Gypsy blood from Spain, others say its because sex is the only part of their lives that's not controlled of regulated, and some others say the lack of the Catholic church is the reason. I've just come off a 6 month stretch in Medellin, before that 6 months in the Philippines and Cuba still is on my mind. With the current changes due to the American crackdown, I have been taking a wait and see attitude as to when I will return to Cuba but I know I will visit soon. Peace.

Umm, yes they do care. Prostitution is illegal in Cuba, and it is enforced. The Cubans know that they could get into some deep, deep shit if they don't have the right connections with the Police. Every move you make in Cuba is documented by someone, either the Police, undercover Police, Casa owners, neighborhood informants, Chica's etc. , etc,. You can get away with a little more in Havana than anywhere else on the Island. I spent a few weeks traveling outside of Havana, down towards Ciego de Avila, Santa Clara etc. Never again. I know some hot Chica's in those Cities, now I have them meet me in Havana. To much hassle outside of Havana.

A good chica friendly casa will coach you on how to have a good time. The advice I was given is to have meals with possible candidates. Buying a female friend a meal is not at all frowned upon in Cuba. Once you find a chica you like, take her to eat at the casa. Then you can have a discussion with the casa owner to find out if she is a problem. I was told to choose wisely, because the way to avoid trouble is the have the same chica for your entire stay.

When you stay in a casa particular in Havana everyone that lives near that apartment is paying attention to the gringo, even though they play it off like they don't care. They have block commanders ...

If you meet a girl on the street she will probably know of a casa that you can have a room for a quickie, this preserves you casa security. I have personal friendships with several casa owners because they know I'm not going to disrespect their place. I would hate to see one of these casa owners lose their investment because I wanted to bang a 30 cuc trick.

In closing, be discreet and respectful of the neighborhood because Cubans are evaluating you whenever they see you especially if strangers stop by frequently. Have them arrive late and leave early while everyone sleeps. Explain to them don't come by unless called. If she is a good respected lady, people will approve and the casa owners won't necessarily trip, but having known tricks show up multiple times daily might make the commander have a neighborhood meeting and come down on the casa owner. Might sound drastic but as previous reports on this page demonstrate, the authorities aren't playing and are confiscating casas.

I have never met a working girl who doesn't have several short time casas at their disposal at an extra price. Its like you said " Cubans respect foreigners who give them money". On the other hand a normal girl won't have access to these casas, we agree. I should have specified working girl in my post. If a working girl is creative enough to dodge the police on a regular basis, knowng a short time casa to fuck at should be easy.

He had three tourist rooms. He told me that Cubans are permitted to stay in a casa particular if they can afford it. The plan was that the chicas pretend not to know me and present themselves as two friends from Santa Clara travelling together in Cienfuegos if the authorities ask questions. Both chicas were sexually available to me on demand. That was part of the deal.

There are two different types of rent rooms permitted by Cuban government: for Cubans and for tourists. Did the Cuban girls were registered in the room for tourists, not for Cuban? Did the owner has at least two legal rooms for tourists in his house?

I say this because its a certain etiquette that mongers who want to draw limited attention should follow: don't fuck multiple chicas daily, that's the fastest way to expose yourself and risk having a personal visit from the authorities or the casa owner. Having girls hanging out and circling your casa will bring attention. Have her come late and leave early. I usually stay with my main girl in my casa and have had no problem. Even so, there are some illegal houses. I know because one of my girlfriend's friends told us about it and we could spend the night there. Couldn't give you directions or a telephone number even if I wanted to, as I did not contact the house owner.

Someone recommend me another casa in Punto Tomato in Las Tunas province. When I went there this January I learned that the owner in the prison too and casa closed because problem with chica. In Las Tunas as oppose to others provinces, even selling fruit and vegetables is considered crime. I bought it in illegal hidden fruit market. I doubt that if someone recommended you the illegal casa in Las Tunas it is still open for business.
