Driver is a great idea, she can also supply you with neighborhood chicas, not pros.

I have no problem sharing driver detail. PM just please don't contact unless you are sure you are traveling. They get a lot men hitting them up that have no real plans on going and turn out to be a waste of time.

As far as bars go, Walk around old Havana in particular Obispo Street during the day or early evening, any girl that catches your attention just go up to her. Invite her for a drink and from there she is all yours. The Comodoro shopping Center and Hotel has a nice new Open air bar that operates during the day. Free to get in and cheap beer. I am sure you will find some girls there. I don't go out to bars or clubs as night I stay away from the pros those are the ones you will run into problems with.

Sorry I can't help you much with the nightlife, I'm usually with a chica by 10 pm in my casa with a bottle of rum. I am sure the driver can recommend a few good spots for the night action. Oh I did hear that the club at the Hemmingway Marina works on the weekends at night. That's always been a good spot to pic up local girls. I had many a good times there with out any problems. I think there is also a good daytime bar at the marina. I would have your driver with you when you venture out at night. Its good that they see who you are bringing home. The Police will bother the girls, best to have them meet you at your Airbnb or all of Jump in car. On the street You can go up to a girl at any time just make sure no Police are around. They police will do nothing to you so don't worry. Its the girls they like to bother. Don't get her in trouble. As far as bars and restaurants, the police do not enter those places unless there is a specific reason to. Like a fight or some type of disturbance.

The Airbnb I stay at in Miramar do not ask for the girl to register. In fact I had a completely private entrance so the owner does not even see me enter. I would not stay at any that would insist the girl register with the owner.

For $50 the girl will usually stay as long as needed. I have never felt rushed when I pick up on the streets. One thing I like about Cuban women is most do not rush you. When picking up at night at bars and clubs you will find the pros. They will want $100 and up and they will rush you so I stay away from the night action. Find one during the day and have her come back at night. My advise is to Stay away from the Clubs all together as far as mongering goes.

I just got back last night, 4 day trip after 2 years of not going. Was good to be back in Cuba. Went with a Buddy from New York who only spoke English. I speak both so it made it easy. His first trip. My 50th or 60th trip. He loved it.

I actually found Cuba in better shape than I expected. I stay mostly in the Miramar area. I like walking to the Comodoro, Melia Havana hotel and the Business center. Always a chica around for a quick pick up and lots of restaurants and bars to walk to. $30 a night for a nice quiet casa in that area that is walking distance from everything. It's a very safe area.

I probably had 10 to 12 girls in 4 days.

I did not run into too many shortages. At least any shortages that affected me. I was able to find restaurants stocked with at least Chicken, Pork, Fish, rice and beans. Plenty of beer. That's all need. I did hear of hygiene product shortages but I had my own.

Cuba sim card is definitely worth getting. I was able to stay connected and even have you tube for music and videos. I had my Cuban Contact buy me a sim card so that when Landed in Havana I was ready to go as soon as I was outside the airport.

I have a new driver, Nice very dark young lady with a decent car. I paid her $60 a day She was always just a phone call away. She probably would have taken $50 but I thought $60 was fair enough. She also exchanged money with her at $100 Cuban pesos for a $1. At that rate things become cheap. I had lobster meal in old Havana for $6. LOL Daquieri at la Flordita used to $6 now $1. 80 at the new exchange rate. Oh Yea do not exchange in the banks. I am not sure what the rate is there but I heard 25 to one. You will easily find people willing to buy your dollars at $100 to 1. I exchanged once right in front of the flordedita for 110 to 1. I did not run into to many scammer but maybe because I speak Spanish they stay away from me. As with any any third world country always be aware of your surrounding however I do find Cuba much safer that any other Latin American country I have visited. I do suggest not to walk around with your cel phone in your hand. Keep it in your pocket when walking. If stopping to take a pick, Take the pick and put it back in your pocket.

I got my chicas on FB. Once you become friends with one of them, you will have access to all of their facebook friends were you can see their pics before you contact them. Going rate for me was about $50. Rarely do I spend less than that. Can you get them for 30 or 40? Probably but I'm not real cheap with mine chicas. I even got me a few female athletes that train every day. I spent a bit more on them but they were worth every penny. I try to be fair and these are usually girls I have been in contact with for a while.

Day trip to the beach with the driver was well worth it. Fresh snapper meal for us $ 16 oceanside. A bargain. Found a nice chica at the beach and back to my place.

Clubs and bars are working, Plenty of chicas.

If you need a good driver with a car let me know. She was worth the $$. I accidentally left my keys to the casa in her car and she contacted me to return them. If that had been a regular cab I would have never gotten them back.

As far as currency you will be good with either US $ or Euros. I am not sure about Canadian dollars. I would ask first. Forget about us Credit cards. They don't work.

Make sure you get a sim card. WIFI / internet almost non existent. Cell service worst country I ever visited.

Be ready for gas shortages and food shortage. Not much meat. Lots of rice, beans and bananas. You cannot hardly buy bottled water, if you see it, stock up.

Many taxis will exchange money for you.

Airbnb best place for getting apartment / room.

Had ocean view, balcony. 13th floor, beautiful view $35/ night. No problem girls. Plus can pay on credit card usd.

I have always understood that the Cuban police were the main obstacle standing between foreign men and dollar hungry Cuban girls and being seen publicly with a foreigner or staying in his apartment (which meant registering with the owner) were good ways for girls to land in jail. I don't think I will have much free time this trip, but hope to have an afternoon to enjoy with someone. Last time I was in Cuba was 2016 and it was easy to find someone on the Malecon. No idea what it will be like this time.

What I am seeing though is that the CUP is now at about 103 to the dollar and MLC carda are 114. Here is a link for other to track the going rates:

I'm weeding through the thousands of entries on airbnb but always end up down a rabbit hole with some of the wording and some of the responses of the hosts don't really clarify matters such as to being able to come and go without any interaction or registration. I used to visit the city very often, but now have not been there since before March, 2020.
