I have been messaging a few of these Chicas last week or so, they seem very sweet and the back on forth on messenger is well. Then they drop a request for a recarga citing their financial hardship. Is that some sort of scam, hassle or a true request?

Of course I declined saying I haven't met you. But I am just wondering if any others have had that experience.

That happens with (most) any Cuban you communicate with. They befriend you in Facebook, send you a couple of inconsequential messages and then the "life is too hard here" message hits you, even from people you know (even family). It's really hard there but a cell recharge or $100 is not going to change that.

So, to answer your question: is it a scam, hassle or true request? My answer is yes to "all of the above. " By the way, when they get a recharge, they can (and will) sell them.

IMHO, no matter what others might say, and based on my experience, there's no need to communicate with the women you want to bed before you get there, and never after you leave. That always ends up with a money request or something else, and no, it won't count as a prepayment (no matter what people tell you).

Can you hunt a tiger before you get to the jungle? Of course not, right? Neither you can bed a woman before you meet her. In Cuba or any other country, hunt once you get there, that's where the fun is!

To be honest, I have been to Santa Clara and Ciego de Avila a couple times. I wanted to see the countryside of Cuba, plus I knew a couple chicas in Ciego. That was back in the "good" days in Cuba, before the the real shortages started setting in. Now that I've seen that part of Cuba, I'm not going back anytime soon, probably never. It is very expensive travelling outside of Havana. Havana to Ciego round trip = $300 taxi fare.

I think that $300 for a taxi ride from Havana to Ciego (round trip) is not bad at all, that's a long haul. But don't they have a bus for that? https://www.viazul.com.

Can I ask, for those of you messaging prospects ahead of your trips to Havana, where are you finding them? Like if you say "on Facebook" or something, does that mean I can just go in my FB account and search for people and start sending invites? Or is there some other way to do it?

EVERY SINGLE CUBAN GIRL DOES THAT. But who knows if she's even a girl unless you did a video chat? My response is "After we have sex, you get paid. " Unless you want to pay for some sexting, which is up to you if that's your thing.

I think that you lose out on opportunities with that approach. After chatting with her for a day or two I ask for a photo of her Carnet de Identidad to prove she's not a minor. If what she told you in the chat contradicts what's on the ID, you know she's not worth your time. Sexting and pornography is illegal in Cuba. If she sends you a nude photo, remind her that you could be denied entry into Cuba if you forget to delete it. Your purpose for online chat is to see if a chica can follow instructions. What if that photo you get was of her from 20 years ago? All is not lost! Don't lose your temper and let her know that you will make it worth her while for her to find you what you're looking for. Networking pays off in Cuba.

Another thing, these chicas were raised under socialism. That means that you need to teach the principle of "give something; get something". Perhaps one in three understand if they provide only a little value, they get peanuts. If she only provides information and conversation, that's worth maybe ten bucks. Paying peanuts proves that you're not playing games but it also gets the point across that if she wants more, she needs to do more. Some chicas are available, but consider it beneath them to take cash for sex. One chica that I really liked would point out a dress that she liked. All I had to say is "convince me". She did everything I wanted (BBFS) and the dress was about $25. I never explicitly offered her cash for sex and if I did, it wouldn't work.

Make her earn it, but understand you may need to teach her how to earn it. If she stays in regular communication, helps you practice your Spanish, informs you of what her life is like in Cuba, plans activities for your next visit to Cuba, sending her twenty bucks every two months would be fair. If after teaching her how to earn it, she refuses, then don't communicate with her.

The discussion here kind of ran off the rails LOL. Although this is the Havana thread a poster named Harry was asking about Holguin because he fell in love over the internet with a girl there. So we were talking about a different part of Cuba than Havana. I think we all agree Havana is a good place for the game both in terms of finding interested chicas and finding apartments to bring them. The city of Holguin has the chicas but the apartment owners strongly enforce the government's policy in that all guests need to be registered. So it's ok to bring a chica (even in the middle of the night) but she needs to register. Havana not so much. But maybe things have changed based on TxSnake's recent experience.

One must never forget that Cuban chicas are providing a service, just like a taxi driver. Most chicas I met become very annoyed about any conversation that they are "Pay for Play". What you can get away with is making clear that you are seeking an experience (which obviously includes intimacy). That is truthfully what I expect. I will happily buy a pig for the chica's family with the understanding that I'm doing so for her to show off her family's cooking skills and enjoy an all I can eat experience. I expect to learn something about life in Cuba. It somewhat allows her to salvage a sense of dignity when you communicate an expectation of much more than sex, but rather a full experience. Don't forget to communicate a very low tolerance for things such as being late. I think such things even help the chica keep some dignity because it gives her a chance to prove that she's a responsible person.

Staying emotionally unattached is essential, but appreciating her talent to show you a good time in every way much in the way you would appreciate and return to a fine chef for good food has worked well for me. The Cubanas I have met appreciate being referred to as a skilled companion, but resent being referred to like a piece of meat. In other words, demand and recognize talent for a chica who is a skilled companion. Kick the problem chicas to the curb. The province of Holguin has a culture that results in pleasant, enjoyable chicas. For best results, don't tolerate unprofessionalism.

Looks like you will be tested (covid) when you get there, then isolated for 5 days, then tested again.

"Incoming travelers will be given a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test upon arrival. They are then required to self-isolate. On day five of isolation, they will be required to undergo a second PCR test".

I thought you can get tested on airport and then can go to casa. From that point on take basic precautions such as wearing mask and do what we need to do.

If you have never meet them, I wouldn't send them anything. With that said, Cubans are having a very difficult time these days, they are desperate. If you do decide to send some money, that money usually goes to their boyfriends and family. It's a very good possibility that they already have some other guy('s) sending them money anyway.
