Gays on La Rampa? Where? I did not see any when I was at La Rampa (Avenida 23) and Calle L and the vicinity. Please explain yourself here and exactly what you seen.

But agree, maybe I will try again next year. Its so cheap and easy to get to from USA. Why not give a try again!

Plus, I really liked how safe the country is. Makes our hobby so much easier than Tijuana or places like this.
Most of the action is when you enter La Rampa through the Malecon. Theres a jazz club, with a downstairs club on the block. La gruta is a nice big downstairs club with chicas. As you walk further inland, you will see in door and outdoor places to have a drink and people watch, as well as cafes to eat.

Near the university is one of my favorite cafes on San Lazaro, Locos Por Cuba, that was my first real meal. El bilky is near by.

I approach random chicas all over, asking them to go for a drink. They are very pleasant and respectful, its either a yes or a no.

The safety in this country is unreal. Which is why I prefer it. As well as the cigars and and rum.

I prefer to go to sleep early because I hit the beach everyday. When I travel with buddies, that's when the nights end late.

Try their high end restaurants too, about $25 for a lobster dinner, grilled octopus is usually on the menu too, I try a new one every visit and always check out my favorite ones. Stay away from the popular tourist restaurants.

Cuba is unlike any other systematic chica friendly country. There is footwork to do, connections to make and with that comes convenience.

Every trip I took after the first one, only got better.

Its hard to tell you exactly where to find them, but along La Rampa is probably the easiest place to find a quickie.

If you take your time, and meet someone along the way throughout your day, it can be very rewarding.

I'm not sure why you experienced a gay scene on La Rampa, but you should be used to it since you frequent Cartagena.

Maybe the girls don't want to be scene with you? I've walked around town plenty with chicas including beach, restaurants, clubs and bars hand in hand, no problems.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to take your opinionated advice.

La Rampa is full of life, something for everyone, I've met beautiful memorable chicas on the Avenue many times. If gay action is not your taste, keep it moving, no reason to point it out.

What did I do wrong? Uneventful times in Havana

    Gents,

I assumings I did something wrongs, I had a horrible time in Havana. I spend 5 days total and didn't find much to look at, let alone approach. Too many unattractive black girls.

To be honest, I didn't go to any clubs, so maybe there is the mistakes I make to be monger. And I only stayed in Old Havana. But it my experience was NOT as described below in the forums. That any girl was available for pick up. All of the white / mixed pretty girls at hotels, restaurants, on the street rarely looked at me, let alone make small talk.

I tried to flirt with the white girls. They would not give in. Not sure how you were able to pick up these regular girls.

Most of the working girls on streets were black and looked like hood rats from USA. I assumed there we be a lot more options on the main streets, parks, prados, etc. But very little options.

Got to say I was quite disappointed. But I did find a thin average girl on the street who came to my place and gave me a handjob for $20. That's a great deal.

I think I better stick with Mexico, Colombia or my favs joints in Asia.

But I am willing to give Havana another chance. Heards so many stories of professional women (doctor, nurses, teachers) making only $35 per month! Wow.

I have a weekend coming up to escape. I kept my options very open.

I almost pulled the trigger on Sosua, but something keeps pulling me back to Havana.

Wifi is easy nowadays, 99% of Airbnb hosts provide a sim, all you have to so is give them money to load it.

Regular home wifi is limited, very few locals have it, don't expect it.

If your Airbnb host is useless, ask your chica or a taxi guy to help you for a fee.

I can't wait to eat some delicious Cuban food and wash it down with a cigar and rum.

Last I heard there is only one connection to the outside world via cable to Venezuela. Certainly nothing to the USA. So basically to the outside world you have access somewhat similar to the old dial up days of the 1980's. You will likely be able to access your email and basics like that. But I doubt very much whether anything close to data streaming capacity exists. Perhaps at some of the resorts if they are allowed to use satellite connections, but even then most satellite connections have too much of a delay to work well for live connections. And again, these technologies are very carefully watched by the government there.
    An FYI.

Recently (within the last 3 months) Cuba announced the new accord with Martinique (French) with a high speed cable to access the internet (Web) last I heard the completion of laying the cable was in the final stages, if not already completed while you read this.

Cuba's government has not publicized this much since it prolly afraid about getting it block by the USA government.

Hey, not sure about hotels, but the casa we stay in, near the action, has wifi, with little issues. And won't need any wifi card. It's just life connecting at home.

It doesn't seem to be that difficult anymore. "Good" depends a lot on your definition. None of it is Canada / USA quality, but I managed more than a few video calls. I found many Airbnbs with included WiFi. They preload an account for the room, and you use their account / password / access point. Even easier, if you're staying in Havana, just get a SIM with a few gig. It's only 4 g at best, but I found the coverage to be excellent. And again, good enough for video, but at a low bit rate. It is physical sim only. IPhone 14 users are SOL. Another benefit of the sim, you can load up the La Navi app. It is a crude copy of Uber, but it works well enough, and it forced the driver to stay honest. The total is right on the screen, no argument.

Also, I had no problems using a VPN on WiFi or cellular.
