Water should be no problem if you plan a little. Find out where the closest stores to your casa are before you travel (you guys should post whereabouts you are planning to stay, instead of asking general questions about Havana provisions, so some of us can help to guide each other). There is a nice little store across the street from Jose Marti Airport that has water, beer, and rum (it might be challenging while toting luggage, but my casa hosts were with me).

With that said, the Parque Central Hotel on Old Havana is a great resource for food, including breakfast and hamburgers. It also has an awesome cigar lounge (BYOC is OK). It is indeed "central" in that a lot is nearby, including restaurants and bars (including El Floridita, tourist trappy, but a good landmark) and other hotels and a Habanos store in the general area. (it's right by El Capitolo, and if you can see that, you're not lost). I had no problems finding food at the better TripAdvisor restaurants, I'd just say, be sure the food is hot AF so you know its pasteurized.

They didn't care if we dragged in ladies at night (literally stepping over them sleeping on the floor), but it did feel awkward and weird, lesson learned. Get your own casa you cheapos! Hint: Look at the "house rules" on AirBNBs. If they are silent on guests, you're probably OK. General rule in flouting rules: It's better to ask forgiveness than permission.

If you are trying to stay in Cuba on the cheap, well, you get what you pay for. That includes the company. Just compare it to what things cost in the first world and everything is a steal in Cuba.

I would not base a decision on a few dollars difference in the price of pussy. The other differences in the places are a much much bigger factor. There is no comparison. Cuba is a very difficult place to have a relaxing good time. Water issues, food issues, restaurants without basic food, and on and on and on. To say nothing of living in a place where you are being watched all the time essentially. In Colombia none of that.

So Colombia seems more easy for having an all round relaxing holidays although I would like to know how is the experience to GFE a Cuban girl for the holidays. Is that common? Or you need to see them by hours / days? Also some idea on usual prices would be great.

I would like a bit more info on Havana and Cuba in general for prices and getting a holiday girlfriend price too if you have more updated information as I'm having second thoughts about my 2 weeks holiday in October, a friend said that Colombia is actually cheaper, I'm thinking go to Caribbean Colombia instead of Havana to do a cheap hobbyist holidays. I've read 20 min in Colombia in many casas is around 10 bucks and 25 bucks an hour. That's very competitive prices. How about Cuba? How hot they compare to Colombians? Also the quality of service? Are they full GFE?

I would not base a decision on a few dollars difference in the price of pussy. The other differences in the places are a much much bigger factor. There is no comparison. Cuba is a very difficult place to have a relaxing good time. Water issues, food issues, restaurants without basic food, and on and on and on. I will keep his short, bc I plan to do a big report when I leave Cuba. We are having tons of fun in Havana but I hadn't got lucky yet sadly. My friend who speak Spanish been able to walk almost to everyone and talk. If you know Spanish then that goes a long way. He been able to score which is good. The only girls I talked to was on Badoo app. I got a lot of matches. One of the girls wanted 100 usd each. We have something line up for tonight but I'm not hopeful. It doesn't help that my friend doesn't want to pay for sex which is fine. We share a house with a bunch of family members so that also hurts. We leave tomorrow for a different part of Cuba. Hopefully I can score there. I will give an update I'm a few days more than likely, then one big report once I get home. Thanks.

As Wet Nose said, definitely download the Spanish pack for Google Translate *before* you get to Cuba, because cell connectivity there is like 2001. Without that and the iOS translate app, I'd have been dead in the water. It can be a fun game to hand the phone back and forth. And a great opener.

It's funny how Cuba will give free education to the doctorate level, but not teach English in schools. I get the FU to the USA thing, but Spain is the country that turned you into a colony. Maybe the government thinks if they teach English to their citizens they'd be even more likely to want to leave. Regardless, I'd say 1/10 girls know some rudimentary English, but don't count on it. They get it mostly from US music (I was stupefied to learn that one of my favorite young Cubanas had a Queen song on her phone!

BTW, for those used to Mexican Espanol, Cuban is a very different accent. Sometimes I'd say a word perfectly in a Mexican accent, and they wouldn't know WTF I was saying. I'd show them the word or phrase on my phone and they'd burst out laughing. Cubans seem to have this speaking practice, why say in three syllables what you can say in one? Their accent seems to confuse the translate apps too.

Such a unique country. Is it winter vacation yet?

When I lived there, if you wanted to learn a language, you had to be cleared by the "higher up," except if you wanted to learn Russian or any other "communist language," something that few wanted to learn.

When it comes to Cuba, nothing is what it seems. Just go, enjoy and don't try to understand it because in order for that to happen, you have to live there as a Cuban!

I downloaded both apps so I should be good to go. Sadly I spent a little bit of the money, I was going to bring on some fun tonight but it still should be enough. I leave in a week so I definitely report back.

I'm sure you can find what you need with just English, but I will say this. I'm a heavy ogerish looking guy. Back home, I don't get a 2nd look. But when I was in Havana last, the fact that I could walk up to a hot girl and speak in her native tongue made me a rockstar.

This one time, I walked into a bar and started speaking spanish with the bartender, and I instantly got the attention of a very attractive young lady. She was sitting with a much older white dude and they weren't even looking at each other. I have no doubt that I could have easily taken her from him if I was more of an asshole (than I already am).

Speaking spanish, I was able to talk to any girl I wanted and get much more of a GFE vibe from them. And all of them seemed excited to be able to hold an actual conversation with a guy instead of a boring night of just sitting there, then letting a guy do some pushups on her.

If you have the time and put in a little effort, definitely learn at least some conversational spanish. The fact that you can speak a little, but not fluent may make you even cuter to them.

Look up "que hora es dr danny evans" on youtube. My buddy didn't speak a lick of spanish and started to learn the day after we got back in advance of our next trip. He said he learned so much from that youtube series, more than even rosetta stone.

Put in the effort and your penis will thank you for it later.

99 times out of a 100, she'd only speak Spanish.

If you do see a doctor though (or med student), there's a near 100 percent chance that they can speak English. It's a requirement for their graduation.

Beyond the basics, you can download the Spanish language pack to your Google Translate app for offline use and it's pretty terrific.

When you walk around don't expect girls to give you the look back. Be proactive, the best one are going to be a little coy, especially when other people are around. Find one you like walk up to her and smile and ask for her WhatsApp number. Everyone is on WhatsApp. If she gives it to you just walk away and text her later and feel her out. Make sure to mention that you pay. This makes it much easier all the way around and you'll thank me when you come back.

I'd be very interested in hearing about people's experiences with Holguin in this regard. There aren't a ton of casas in Holguin, and last thing I'd want is staying in a casa where I couldn't have guests over. It has me not even wanting to visit the province on my next trip, and there are some beauties that I'd really like to meet in that area.

First, be prepared to rent a casa particular that turns a blind eye to having girls over. They will not be allowed at the resort or be afraid to get registered (same for casa registration). Holguin has some lookers there, but I found it very difficult to find casas that allow girls to enter with you without registration. You can book her a separate room at the resort, but it gets costly. I assume cienfuegos is similar. Havana, due to sheer size and population, more casa owners, bit easier to find places to stay and bring a girl over.
