Not to worry, It'll be just fine. I just got thru watching some news and most of la Habana will be up and running prolly by this weekend. There will be some hiccups here and there but as a general rule most everything will be back to normal.

Now if you are talking about the Cayos on the northern coast that's going to take sometime to get it running back to normal but almost all of us mongers never go to these places.

BTW, I will be arriving on the 27th, so when I come back I'll post and up to date report of the situation there.

I am assuming not much will change, but the news does not get into a lot of specifics about the Hurricane there. When I looked at CNN it quoted the following: "Those who remained told CNN they were prepared, though they knew this was a storm like few had ever experienced.
Meanwhile, as dusk fell Saturday in Havana, the churning waters moved inland from the city's popular seafront boulevard. Flooding continued Sunday afternoon along the malecn, spreading into adjacent streets with waist-level water in some areas." The photos show people wading in waist high water in some cities. I am finding it hard to believe all is normal.
I knew when Jakarta was hit by severe rainstorms traffic was horrendous, and in the Philippines a monsoon on its way caused us to leave creating havoc to the city. Lastly, a massive Please advise if anyone, especially with boots on the ground or a friend on the ground can report if all is okay.

    Reading glasses / Frames

If I can get the glasses to the people or an organization that will actually use them (vs. Sell them), I will happily bring them with me.
    Hey DCC,

Yeah, that's a great suggestion. I usually hit the 99 c stores locally and buy a bunch of them, great buy for the price. People will really appreciate it when you gift them a pair of glasses. Buy several magnifications. Also, if you have old glasses with good frames, those are also good to take down.

BTW, just a heads up for all you pervs, cubanas love chewing gum, so hit Costco and buy one of their big boxes of gum and when you head out take a few packs with you. Great for breaking the ice and you'll be a big hit on the Malecon. LOL.

Yes, absolutely. I gave away my own personal reading glasses the last time I was there, I had 2 pair and gave them both to my chicas parents, they were very grateful.

Here's a pic I found from way back, not my pic but a beautiful Cuban girl.

I suspect the Cubans will need hard cold cash most of all.

If anyone knows of things the Cubans need specific to the effects of the Hurricane or a link to such a list, please post. I am happy to bring some stuff and make my support of the Cuban people travel designation 100% legitimate.

    Quick Question Regarding the Hurricanes

Ty your video has better looking women in it. The deleted video was more informational. Two potential problems were they talked about buying pot and they spent minutes talking about women while the video was showing school age girls. They definitely did not encourage sex, but they shouldn't have spent so much time filming young girls.
Hmmm that is interesting. Did not know it was from the same youtuber, wow! I have a whole youtube playlist of Cuba, mostly travel related and potential Casa's for future trips, but I do have a few with some chicas in them. I have noticed that a lot of Cuba themed videos do get deleted by youtube, IMO youtube has gone full retard on censorship.

Here's a good example, I thought this video was funny because it depicts some asian guy trying to pick up a young Cubana, she looks to young to me but she is a good looking girl. As the guy tries to negotiate a price one of the cubano's picks up a rock, and as he does that it looks like an undercover policeman swoops in and shoots him down LOL. Oh well here it is, hope it doesn't get deleted.
