Don't know if this is your 1st visit or you've been down before.
I like to stay in the Vedado section of the city and close to La Rampa, specially if you have no wheels. Then again that's my choice, I find I can walk to many of the places.
If you are looking for something on the high end of the price scale I know of one which is in the hood that I mentioned above and has 2 bedrooms and it's also a penthouse. In case you're interested PM me for the info.
Enjoy the journey and report back here.
BTW, if you google "casa particular" you'll get a bunch of sites with listings for apartments.

Posts: 502Any good place to look for casa's other than AIRbnb? Seems like a sub forum here would be great to start of places that are guest friendly. I'm looking for something a little higher end 2 bedroom both king preferably. Any area better to stay in Havana more in the action?

If the line is in a so called friend's name they own it and can cancel it at any time or say they lost the Sim card and get a new one along with whatever balance you had left on it. The rules are all on the Etecsa site but of course in Cuba they don't always following the rules. http://www.etecsa.cu/telefonia_movil..._y_activacion/.

Though I will be going to Thailand and Indonesia in about 10 days, I still find myself daydreaming of La Isola Grande.
I hope you find time to post your expereinces and give us some updates about the scene.
Enjoy and have fun!

Yeah, good point about the scam, when I got mine some friend got it for me, so no issue there.
BTW, yep you need to recharge such Sim card before the year runs out otherwise you lose it.

I am such a paton, though. I'd be too intimidated to invite her for a dance.
