I have been to Havana several times in recent years and each time I hit the usual spots: johnnys, casa de la musica, la maison, Q'bola, Bola Habana, Up and down, fantaxy etc. It has been hit or miss. Monday through Wednesday is fairly dead everywhere.

In recent years, the clubs have fewer chicas and the bars have more. There are exceptions though like Laura, Daniela Bolaos and Anita.

Laura I met in Don Cangrejo. She was wearing an insanely sexy red dress. I had to meet her if only for the dress. We start chatting and she hits me with the ridiculous asking rate of 120 cuc. I balked at that and was about to walk. She finally accepted the offer of 80. She claimed to be in her early 20's but I would guess probably late 20's. As far as approaching La Rampa girls I try to make eye contact then say "Hola!. " If she answers back she is approachable and very likely available. Yeah its pretty obvious. All seating outdoor. Right at the end of the street. Opposite the fortress / police station.

Cost a little more but they have the best steaks in Havana.

Good food is hard to find in Havana, so this will be a good start, I have more if you're interested.

Getting good quality cheap and quick meals in Vedado can be challenging. I found some good paladars but very few cafe style places. The food at Sofia or at the Havana Libre's cafe was awful, service slow, and the latter ridiculously over-priced.

Fortunately I found a very nice little place close to my Casa. Otra Casa. Good food, quick service and cheap. Location is a bit out of the way. At he very end of Call L by the Malecon (close to the US Embassy) . But its a nice outdoor terrace, bright and sunny with a cool breeze, and I saw some cute girls there on occasion too.

Food is nothing fancy. Breakfast, Cuban platos, sandwiches, and Pizza. Most dishes 3-5 CUC. Also very good coffee and smoothies.

Most everything I had was good. I didn't like the Pizza, but its very popular (it hast that weird mealy crust common to Cuban pizza). I'd especially recommend the fried chicken plato.

Lots of choice in a small section and pretty good food, especially fish dishes and the other items are standard so you know what you will get.

Note: some of the restaurants have Cuban, Italian, and a little Chinese mixed menus.

Thanks. I walked around there but it was kind of dead so did not stop for a meal. But it was a late Sunday afternoon so maybe not the busiest time. I've had American-Chinese, Thai-Chinese, and Malayan-Chinese food. I'm definitely curious about what Cuban-Chinese food tastes like.
