    Thanks UncleV for the tip.

Dart, some other good eats can be had at "LOS Amigos" link - https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...ince_Cuba.html.

LOS Amigos is one of my favorites, good food cheap!

Another good place is "Decameron" - http://www.cuba-junky.com/havana/res...decameron.html.

Cost a little more but they have the best steaks in Havana.

    And another is - "Razones" - https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...ince_Cuba.html.

Good food is hard to find in Havana, so this will be a good start, I have more if you're interested.

    Cheers.

Fortunately I found a very nice little place close to my Casa. Otra Casa. Good food, quick service and cheap. Location is a bit out of the way. At he very end of Call L by the Malecon (close to the US Embassy) . But its a nice outdoor terrace, bright and sunny with a cool breeze, and I saw some cute girls there on occasion too.

Food is nothing fancy. Breakfast, Cuban platos, sandwiches, and Pizza. Most dishes 3-5 CUC. Also very good coffee and smoothies.

Most everything I had was good. I didn't like the Pizza, but its very popular (it hast that weird mealy crust common to Cuban pizza). I'd especially recommend the fried chicken plato.

I found that some of the best value meals were in the little Chinatown area.

Lots of choice in a small section and pretty good food, especially fish dishes and the other items are standard so you know what you will get.

Note: some of the restaurants have Cuban, Italian, and a little Chinese mixed menus.
Thanks. I walked around there but it was kind of dead so did not stop for a meal. But it was a late Sunday afternoon so maybe not the busiest time. I've had American-Chinese, Thai-Chinese, and Malayan-Chinese food. I'm definitely curious about what Cuban-Chinese food tastes like.

    Hey,

Yeah, there was a crash just outside terminal 1 on takeoff. Plane was heading to Holguin and no reports yet as of now what caused the accident.

111 on board and 3 survivors so far.

Sad times for the people there. My sympathies to those with love ones in the crash.

Little clarification, La Rampa / Malecon. How do you approach them, what is the best way without scaring them off?

How do you tell which are most approachable / available. I always think as a gringo I stand out and with limited Spanish would be tough.

Would it be better to ask them out for a coffee / dinner and then try to ease them into nightcap at casa?

Also on a technical note I understand after the trip that cubamessenger is a great cheap way to keep in touch with them.

Since it cost them nothing assuming they are on wifi and costs us minimal outside of Cuba. Or do they prefer other apps, email, text etc.

Did you notice them all having smart phones and would it make sense to bring a couple of cells to give them as gifts.
Hi JHappyDog, I am glad you liked the post and find it useful.

As far as approaching La Rampa girls I try to make eye contact then say "Hola!. " If she answers back she is approachable and very likely available. Introduce yourself, ask her name, compliment her on her beauty, then ask if she wants to come to you Casa "Quieres venir a mi casa conmigo? Some will ask right away "How much?" others not. If she is not into it don'e be an asshole and move on. There are plenty of girls.

It's that simple. It would be fun to take them for a drink or dinner first but they will be reluctant to go as they can get in trouble with the police. If you want to take it a little slower ask her if she wants to come to your casa to have a drink and listen to some music?

Cubamessenger is great but not every girls uses it. Also there were some complications for me downloading it onto one of my chica's phone. Like most things in Cuba it gets complicated there is no quick fix. LOL. I was never able to get her phone working because of wifi issues (dickheads at Samsung blocked wifi for Cuba on that model phone). But there are shops where the guys hack into the phone and can solve these and other problems. The folks down there are resourceful. If you meet a girl you like and want to stay in touch with I'd take the time to make sure that cubamessenger is properly downloaded on her phone.

To get onto the internet Cubans have to go to special designated wifi hotspots which are pretty common in Havana (usually in parks or public squares). Internet is not free. If they have an account with the national company ETECSA it can be as low as 1 cuc per hour. They buy tickets (tarjetas) with a scratch off access number.

1 cuc sounds cheap to us but its pretty expensive for them. SO the girls may not be online all that often. Once nice thing about cubamessenger is that it allows you to send them messages or even call when they are not online (though it will cost you).

Not all girls have cellphones or they may have a really old one with limited access to internet. So even an old serviceable smartphone makes a great regalo for your favorite Chica. I plan to take a couple of phones to give away next trip.

I hope this answers your questions.

    Stay horny my friend.

They are all approachable and available. Just like you go to work to get money, they go out there to get money (not coffee!)

This is a big surprise for me as I am usually a club guy. For example, when I am in Pattaya I generally prefer I-Bar and the other Discos over the Gogos and I can't remember the last time I took a girl from Beach Road. La Rampa girls may be kind of reluctant to talk and get comfortable when you first meet them on the street. But I think this is largely because they are stressed about getting in trouble with the cops, who are always close by. This kind of put me off to the whole scene at first. But I've found that they warm up very quickly when you get them back to the Casa. I have never had a bad experience with a girl I met on La Rampa. I can't say the same about girls I met on the clubs.

That said, it was always hard to find an attractive girl right off the bat. You kind of half to wander up and down for hours until you run into the tight girl. It takes some patience and you often have to make an evening of it before you get lucky. Be ready to act quickly if you do and snap her up. She won't be around the next time you pass by! I had at least three interesting candidates slip through my fingers this way.

Pica Flor was the club in St John.

My main problem with Cuba was lack of communication. I could not even do something as simple as set up scuba diving because they only have internet at certain times. That stone age shit is for the birds. If I do ever return then it will be for scuba diving and to a place other than Havana.
Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you liked the report.

Yeah Pic Flora. Don't know where I got El Rio from. LOL. In my mind its always just St John's. Picked up some good girls form there. But always pricey.

Internet is getting much better now. My casa even had a router and I could log on from the comfort of my home. I could use the owner's account and it only cost 1 CUC per hour. And available 24 hrs.

Girls are still mostly off he internet. Though I just got a FB message form my sweet Rihanna lookalike.)).

    Havana Wrap Up

Here are a few things I learned as well as a few things I am still a bit confused about:

    1) La Rampa #1: I found cruising La Rampa to be the best option for finding girls. All the girls I have taken from there have been GFE and repeat worthy. But I've found that they warm up very quickly when you get them back to the Casa. I have never had a bad experience with a girl I met on La Rampa.

    2) Discos and Nightclubs Kind of Suck: I actually found the girls at the discos to be more hardcore pro and sharky then the girls I met on La Rampa. And they ask for a lot more upfront. 100+ CUC as opposed to 40-50 CUC for girls on La Rampa. Most of the girls at the clubs are older too. Service is also is not as good. Some won't' do BBBJ. May rush for you to put and the condom right away (I absolutely hate that! All Cuban girls seem to be good kissers, though. Going to the Discos itself is also more expensive. Drinks aren't all that pricey and I don't mind buying them. But I hate getting gouged by the taxi guys. The clubs are spread out and taxis are the only option. The nights I hit up 2 or 3 clubs I ended up paying almost 30 bucks in taxi fare. If you do pick up a girl at a club she may insist you guys use her taxi guy to get her back to your casa and you will get gouged even more. I had to pay the taxi guy 20 CUC to get a girl back from Mio why Tuyo. The ride there only cost me 7.

The clubs have changed for the worse from my last trip. El Rio at St John Hotel is permanently closed (the nice doorman told me they converted the space into conference facilities). Don Cangrejo hardly has any FLs anymore now it's more of a party place thought I think if you put in the work you can still get girls there. Fantaxy is way too packed and I didn't see any attractive girls there anyway. Plus its far to get to and the taxi drivers really try to gouge you on the way back. Mi why Tuyo is less packed, girls are pretty friendly, but no real lookers. Up&Down is small and has very few girls. La Grunge and Tikoa are fun but girls in there are kind of rough looking. The fresher, younger, attractive girls are out on La Rampa and Malecon though not all of them are obviously working girls.

    3) I really don't know much about Havana Vieja or other areas. I've wandered around there a few times but have never had much luck, besides the odd girl approaching me. And I never found them all that attractive. I found the scene to be much better and La Rampa. If anyone wants to chime in with some info I'the appreciate it very much. I will be traveling to Havana again in the Fall and would be eager to give it a try.

    4) Once I meet a girl I like and click with I am eager to see her again. I found it hard to get back in touch with girls I met. They almost never answer text messages (except for one stalker who sent me texts, IMO, and Cuba Messenger. LOL) and would not answer when I called on the Casa phone. However they did answer when I called them on my non Cuban cell. They even called me on that number, though it must cost them a fortune to do so. WTF? I never was really able to get a good explanation from my girls for why they did this (my Spanish sucks so I probably just didn't understand them correctly). Maybe they are worried about police surveillance? Strange. If anyone has any ideas for why this may be so I'the be very interested to hear them.

    5) If you have any Spanish Havana is a gold mine. I sensed plenty of opportunities to approach regular girls outside the typical pick up situations. But my Spanish is still very rudimentary and I didn't' quite have the confidence to do so. For example. I was having lunch at my favorite little caf and there was a very hot girl reading a book at the next table. Not a pro. Maybe a student. She was really into her book and kept giggling. Hottest pure black girl I saw all trip. Shapely little coffee colored titties poking out of her yellow sun dress. I could not keep my eyes off of her. And she looked up from her book to smile at me a couple of times. But my Spanish is so bad that I couldn't find the nerve to start a conversation and ask her what she was reading and if it was a good book, etc. I was kicking myself later that I didn't give it a try. LAME!! I know. That said I've made some progress since my first trip to Havana a year and a half ago and my success keeps getting better. I can't wait to learn more Spanish and hit Havana again!

I hope this wrap up was useful.

    Stay horny my friends.

    Uncle-V.

    Hey Tony,

Yeah, good video explaining all the signals. I can't figure out most of the signals they give and get turned down sometimes because I can't figure those out.

Thanks for the heads up, learn something new everyday. Haha.
