I was in La Habana last week. Low level of tourists, and less chicas. Still, some on the Malecon, some in the old town, some in the middle of nowhere. Three meetings three times bad service. Just interested in quick cash to feed themselves / their kids / their family.

I remember the old Havana with passionate playful girls- a different world less than five years ago.

Now years later it would make sense that many more people have Internet access but I've looked at all of the Internet dating sites and other sites of a more general nature and I can't find any that seem to have any reasonable number of Cuban women that have logged in in the past week or so. A few of the websites had several pages of attractive Cuban women but once you get past six or seven you said that they haven't logged in for more than a month. There may be a website that I'm unfamiliar with that is being used primarily and that's what I'm trying to find.

So I tried a different method on what you are trying to accomplish and just until recently failed miserably. I created a fake Facebook account with real pictures of myself. I than started to search for all women using different names (like all Marias in Havana, Cuba for example). First I send a "friend " request and than I would send out a "pre-formatted" message to any chicas that caught my eye. Basically I just said that I was looking for a guide to the city and some companionship while I am there. Out of literally maybe 200 cubanas I just have been able to get one chica talking to me on Messenger and she seems like a "normal" girl. A few others have been very "cariñosa" with me asking me to recharge their "saldo" (minutes). Jajaja! Yeah right! For the vast majority of the others a few of them might have approved my friend request but I never got a response (in Messenger) from most I agree with Mondo; it might be hard for you to correspond with Chicas online from Cuba before your trip because of the limited internet access. Just use your "ground game" to plow through these "chulas". Remember to keep the pimp hand strong my brotha.

Mondo, Thanks for your reply. When I went there years ago there were students from one of the technological universitit's that were using amigos.com. There was another forum that was popular than that has Since gone out of business that had some very interesting reports from people who had met all of their contacts from amigos. And as I said basically all of the women on the website came from one particular University. Because they were a technological university they had access to the Internet. I've dealt with a few internet girls and here's my take. If they have a profile and they are on the site regularly, then you probably are not the only guy they are socializing with and they are very resourceful. The girls from Havana are hustlers and will probably be looking for a way out by playing the good girl role. They won't trick for 40 cuc because some Cuban guy from Havana or their Miami cousin has schooled them to the game and are in for a cut. If they do trick it will be in the 100 cuc range. Now the girls from other places like Hougin, Santiago etc are more down to earth and will give you a fair deal. Also the prettier ones are more complicated and prissy. The average looking country girl from outside of Havana will be more appreciative and accommodating to make your vacation special.

I had one country girl from the country side visit me in Havana and she arrived with one change of clothes and was a pure amateur. We had a great time as she appreciated being my date for three days. She wasn't that pretty or great in bed but she was up for the adventure. I haven't seen her in a couple years but her profile page is still active so she has clientelle. Two from Havana that were very beautiful were acting like it was their show and I had to play by there rules with dinner, drinks and 120 cuc for sex. They didn't get anywhere with me after I refused their ultimatum They acted like they are queens of Havana.

I really don't like the internet girls because it allows them to test you and feel you out but you never really get to know them. Its a game set up for them to win. From the money requests before you arrive to set the tone, to them figuring out if you are a long term goal. The smart guys also play games before arrival but it basically puts you at square one once you arrive because you have spent two months lying to each other. One girl I met and banged in Havana and she moved to Italy to work and now she is moving back to Havana and the whole time she has professed her love for me not knowing that I know she was tricking when I met her and she was tricking in Italy. The internet allows deception on both sides but I prefer to meet in Havana and take it fresh.

No, I don't know of any but then again I'm not into the whole social media thing.

I've also thought about your question. My reasoning goes something like this, since internet in Cuba is not like it's in other develop countries for the lack of infrastructure and resources I'm guessing this sort of thing would be almost non-existing on the island.

Now, in case I'm wrong, maybe some of you younger folks can enlighten us on this matter.

Needless to say, this remark is only for US citizens. Any other nationality may pay with bank card or withdraw cash at any ATM. You may pay only the first night with AirBnb and pay cash the following nights. You will save commissions, and may even bargain the price with the landlord.

Yeah this is a big worry. I don't think any of the casas I looked at had safes. I was unable to get one of those clever travel lock boxes they have online for the trip (as suggested by Ramon). So what I did was buy a couple of those cable bike locks and a good lock for my suitcase (not the TSA approved kind that anyone can open that has the TSA tool). I kept my cash in the locked suitcase and secured the suitcase to a very heavy Bench in the living room with the locks. An exposed pipe would have been even better but none was readily available.

Of course a determined thief could have cut the cable lock or the handle of the suitcase it was fixed to or broken the wood of the bench to steal the suitcase. But I felt this solution was was enough to deter most chicas and cleaning ladies.

BTW: I hope you reported this to the casa owner and to airbnb.

I negotiated with them a bit, but in the end, decided to book 2 nights on airbnb then paid for the rest with cash. Got Airbnb owner's email (away from airbnb). Negotiated in USD for remainder of week's stay (up front, before I got to Cuba).

Thanks for the info. I too ended up booking with airbnb. I think I found a great deal. Private, one-bedroom apartment between La Ramba and the university for $30/ day. The owner said of course I can have local visitors in the apartment. I hope I can get through Cuban customs without a problem since I plan to take some toiletries and VS panties for the ladies.

I can't find any "Asturia" place, neither "Fantasy" in Havana. Are you sure of these names?

I never actually made it out there as my buddies that went said ti wasn't really worth it. I liked Don Cangrejo and Mango in Miramar best (as I wrote in my report). Also St John was good 2 of 3 nights I was there.

As for Casas I'd stick with Airbnb as it is pretty well vetted. They have pics and reviews and you can ask the Casa owner questions about the place (exact location, amenities, etc) and they are very responsive. Also important to confirm that you can bring "guests" back to your room. All of the owners I asked responded in a timely manner and most allowed for guests.
