After a recent trip, I am also sad to report back that the working women numbers have drastically lowered in recent months / year. If you take into consideration that over 100,000 Cubans have left the island in the last year, mainly in the age range of 18-38, it makes sense.

I ended up shacking up with a girl I met on the flight there most of the time. We went to the night club La Fabrica del Arte several times. It is a great meet up point. It has live music, dj, art galleries, ect. The drinks are just as cheap there as in other bars too. Get there early because by 10 pm on weekends there is a line. Lots of foreigners and artsy type Cubans.

I ended up booking an AirBnB right on the Malecon for $30 a night. Several working women would be right in the main area at Malecon / La Rampa. The groups in general hanging out there are very young, so you have to be careful.

Curious as to where you saw the 100,000 figure, seems a bit high.

This forum is primarily about sharing information. So I would like to start by stating that, though I have only just registered, I will share by PM with anyone who wants it information on my home city, London, should you be visiting and looking for fun.

I will travel to Cuba for the first time next weekend.

I have through the last twenty-odd pages of this thread, but I have not found an awful lot of information on places to have fun in Havana. (I note the last report, recommending La Fabrica., in Vedado, where I will be staying.).

So, I wanted to ask if some of the regulars would be kind enough to give me some pointers? Where's hot in May 2016?

I am looking for a place (s) where a lovely Cuban thing will rub my bare backside and suck my $% You know the drill. You love it as much as I do.

Is Casa de la Musica in Centro really the best bet?

Since you said this would be your 1st trip to Havana / Cuba I think you would be better off having some veteran monger guide you.

Given that it probly would not happen I will comment on a couple of things for you.

First Casa de la Musica Galiano is hard core Jinetera hang out both inside and outside. Galiano all the way from the Casa to the Malecon is a Jinetera track mostly after early evening. So, if this is what you are looking for then go for it, if on the other hand you want to find a less hardcore Cubana then I would suggest you try talking your way by taking a taxi or a bicitaxi until you get some results that way, again you might have to do this several times until you hit pay dirt.

Remember what was said before in this forum la Habana is no longer the way it used to be back in the 90's or even early 2000's.

Prostitution is not illegal? While I do not profess to know Cuban law, they do arrest women for prostitution all the time. I believe the going sentence is 5 years.

Prostitution is not illegal. Pimpinge is, houses of prostitution are, strip clubs and pornography are, . . A woman or man offering her or his body for cash is not.

That was my thought. Prostitution is illegal in Cuba. Yes it's extremely common, but it's done on the sly, "in the shadows. " No way the authorities are going to permit this type of setup in Havana.

Obviously that guy hasn't done his homework for someone making a major investment in Cuba. Most hotel in Cuba only allow Cubans who work there to enter. Girls have a hard time dodging the cops now so you really think Castro is going to let anyone set up a Chica friendly hotel to promote sex tourism? It's about tourist money and having anything they view as negative will conflict with that. It's a far fetched dream that some guy just threw out there but I'm not buying the posts pseudo business model.

To be clear this will be a legit hotel and yes we did our homework, we have local partners down there that we work with. We are talking about an old mansion and transforming it into a 20 room hotel. Very low key.

I made the comment because obviously we are the ones hiring the people esp. Security and I can guarantee you that under my watch we won't allow the security guys to profit from letting in mongers and chicas. It isn't meant to be a hotel that focuses on prostitution at all, what I was saying is that since I am the owner I can prob hook some of you guys on here up and close our eyes when you come back with a local chick. That's all.

Man that's great news, the 1st monger friendly hotel in La Habana, what more can one ask for.

As far as location for me it's either Vedado, Centro Habana or Habana Vieja.

Now these neighborhoods are expensive, I guess you already know this right? Then again las Playas del Este are also prime mongering areas.

Let us know and keep us posted when you will have the grand opening so maybe we can have a "mongers convention" to celebrate the event.

Man I was not aware of him not being with Havana Ensemble before, guess it makes sense.

On the other front you are right on about Cuba not being "like shooting fish in a barrel" anymore, it used to be in the good old days and that's what keeps a lot of old timers going back.

Don't think that time is ever coming back again.

I think my next trip I will schedule a lot of time out en las provincias (outside Habana) There might be a better percentage of non jineteras than in la capital.

Maybe my math is bad but 3500 php barfine plus 3000 php at 45 php to the USA Dollar gets you there. It gets cheaper when you go to Angeles though.

Yeah when I went it was 1000 bar fine and 1500-2500 for the girl. I actually went during a crackdown and the bar fine was waived at the bar and you paid the girl in the room because the bar owners were scared to collect during the cracks.
