Havana and Cuba are relatively safe and the safest latin country I've visited but guys don't let your guard down.

I've spent aprox 15 months in Cuba in the last 3 yrs and things do happen in Cuba especially Havana.

Won't get into details but I've experience attempt thievery on 3 occasion and friends have also.

Just don't get loose and do something you wouldn't in other countries and don't advertise you should be alright.

Havana is changing fast.

Will be going on my first trip to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in April for 3 months.

I agree with much of what BrasilSoccer and Mr Gogo wrote.

I would say Cubanas are better in bed than Colombians (though neither comes close to Brasilieras!). Added to that, I find all the fake tits and asses in MDE and Cali to be ridiculous. In Cuba, the girls are natural, and as BrasilSoccer says, not spoiled as much by Western images.

Having said that, MDE (and Cali and Cartagena) are much more convenient to stay in than Cuba. You don't have to worry about hiding from the police. You can walk to a fully stocked grocery store or mall that has just about everything you could get in the USA You can use your ATM to get cash instead of having to bring $2K in cash (for USA citizens at least). You can stay in a nice hotel or apartment with a comfortable sturdy bed and bring girls in with no hassle.

I never occurred to me, but BS is right, every appointment I had with a girl in Havana, she was right on time. Unusual in L. America and unusual for prepagos in general.

Cuba is fun and certainly interesting, but it takes more work than other mongering destinations.

great report brasil. i've been to medellin 3 times and cuba four, so here's my take.

the girls in medellin are drop-dead gorgeous but they accessorize way too much for me. fake tits and excessive make-up are plentiful. braces and fashionable dress are popular. cubanas are natural and basic but are still beautiful. colombian girls can't pass a mirror without looking into it and fixing something they don't feel is right.

medellin is not safe outside the tourist spots like parque lleras, cuba is completely safe. my first trip i went with a few guys. one guy was a 60yo white beach bum who only wore sandal, shorts, and a "key west" tank top. on more than one occasion where he drifted off, we had to come save him as he was headed for trouble with some colombian dudes. medellin has many traps for a newbie. my next 3 trips i went solo and followed all my strictest security codes. i never caught a cab outside a club that was waiting. first, i would step around a corner to see if anyone peeks around it looking for me and then i would catch a cab in the opposite direction on the other side of the street. i would go to lunas luneras, faze2, and sandiego strip clubs every night but would only have one beer before exiting then double back if i felt comfortable there before. drugs are everywhere in medellin.

when i was there it rained everyday for a few minutes, cuba is hot. medellin is a beautiful city that does have many things to do, but i prefer cuba. the safety factor limits what you can do in medellin. sante fe mall and trips on the metro to the san antonio bazar got old. i couldn't walk all over medellin solo without taking a risk. cuba is open territory and everyday is a history lesson, and you can go anywhere and be safe.

the sex with the cubans is a "throw back" to real passionate sex. they hump you back, they put tongues in your ears and they whisper sweet things while you are humping them. the cuban girls will make you stop first. i always felt the medellin girls were acting, even though they were very sweet.

for medellin being such a small city, taxis don't know where shit is, in cuba they know everywhere. i could never fully trust a colombian guy because i've heard bad stories about them setting people up, but then again i don't trust any foreign guys when i travel lol. just my take.

Been to both Cuba and Colombia, primarily Medellin. Lived in Medellin for 3-6months a couple of times.

In Cuba, I prefer camaguey. Never took to Havana and it's hustle and agitation.

I like to stay with a couple of great nonpros than fuck scores of robots! If you get what I'm saying. That being said:

Hands down for me the sex is better, hotter, intensely more gratifying with cubanas.

Cubanas are free from the Catholic Church and have no mental or emotional chains telling her this is wrong! Viva Fidel. LOL.

Cubanas at least the ones I met are not spoiled by the lovely American / western pop culture. So there is still some innocence to them. Cubanas don't have too much to do, so they will be available for you with much fewer excuses and ALWAYS on time. LOL.

Paisas are not as completely relaxed. You'll need more time invested to get her to give you 100% in the bed. Also, because of their bloody recent history and the constant threat of violence, the girls are constantly on the defense. Starting up a conversation with a Paisa on the street / bus stop or wherever is not the same as with a cubana.

Paisas have the means to exercise promiscuity and trust me, as sweet as they appear, they will hop local men to get whatever they can get from each man.

As far as beauty, that's all relative. To me, they all are beautiful. And they both carry variety in color. Medellin though has more meatier girls than Cuba.

But Medellin is heaven. If not just for the pretty girls, then for the heavenly weather, scenery and the great services everywhere! Something Cuba lacks.

Also, in Medellin there are LOTS of things to do with your chica and places to go. Lots of near by small towns and activities.

To sum it up, if you have a couple of weeks and all you want is to drain your balls with TON of p4p and have fun experiencing the city then defiantly MEDELLIN.

Hi all. Just got back from nine days in Cuba. I stayed in Havana the whole time, as my prime interest was in Music and Dance (though I found time for chicas as well!). In general I had a good trip.

I stayed in a Casa in Vedado the whole time and I generally liked it. However, if one has the time, I like Gogo's idea of getting a hotel first then looking at Casas in person. My Casa was decent and the family was nice. However, I felt a bit weird waking them up at 1 am when I brought back girls (to give them the girls I'd which is generally req'd). And the bed wasn't the most supportive for lots of fucking. The place was 35CUC a night plus 5 for an excellent breakfast. If I returned, I'd absolutely be willing to pay more for more luxury (though I'm not sure that's available staying with a family).

If one has an interest in Afro-Latin Music and Dance as I do, Havana is a treasure. I saw (live) Los Van Van, Habana the'Primera, Maykel Blanco, and Charanga Habanera as well as several less well-known bands. Matinees are great at places like Casa de Musica (both). And the quality of dancing is excellent.

My Casa was a block away from Salon Rojo. Unfortunately, there had just been a crackdown and unaccompanied women weren't being allowed into the place. However, the whole area had lots of women walking around and obviously available. I picked up two from the little cafe directly across the street. Also lots of excllent "paladars" in the area for great and affordable meals.

If you go, make sure to visit La Cecelia in Miramar. The quality of talent there was the best I've seen anywhere outside of maybe Cafe Foto in Sao Paulo. And the performance of the girls was in general very good. This place is almost worth a visit to Cuba in itself! They are only open on Friday and Saturday.

My last visit to Cuba was in 2001, shortly after the "crackdown" began. I had been contemplating going back since, but was always dissuaded by the treatment of the girls as well as the difficulty in getting there for a US Citizen. These two drawbacks still remain and are the reason I'm not planning another trip soon. Cuba is an incredibly interesting and worthwhile trip. But for the average monger with limited travel time, Colombian and the DR probably make more sense right now.

Last year I was in the same situation as you. After over 20 trips to Thailand and basically Pattaya I started to be little tired of the land of smile. Don't misunderstand me; Thailand is still a very good tourist destination.

Never felt unsafe anywhere I went in Cuba, any time of the day. Thailand is safe too, but you can get into trouble.

Others. Cuba / Thailand.

The music and dance in Cuba itself is worth the trip. The Thai massage and getting a cheap or fake Rolex or designer stuff is worth the trip there too.

I can go on and write more, the bottom line is, both are good. It depends on individual taste and needs.

Great info, but for me I took the hard route because I was very picky and cautious. If someone lives alone and is not used to average accommodations a casa particular can be scary. I rented a nice hotel for 60usd my first trip to use as a home base so I can explore the lay of the land. Luckily I met a streetwise girl who showed me the ropes my first trip.

We first had sex at a casa particular that a friend of hers owned. It was 25usd and very clean. The first problem was the shower had a switch for hot water and electricity. She explained to us not to touch anything until the power switch was off. I forgot this and touched the faucet to turn the shower off and it shocked the shit out of me. Then there is no door, just a sheet covering the door. So you had kids playing in the living room and grandpa walking past trying to get a peak inside. Then you have to share the bathroom. You get no privacy.

So I had a good break in period to experience casa life before I committed. When me and my girl went casa hunting walking one day, we found the perfect casa. It had a private entrance and was a separate apartment. The casa owner was cool and private also, with only a daughter (Sorry guys but I'm keeping it to myself).

Most adds for casa particulars advertise separate apartments but they usually have master gates that the owners control. The best way for me was to actually visit these casas and make sure I wanted to stay there.

My point is that if you are not sure about casa living then stay in a hotel a couple days till you can develop and search for the perfect casa.

I ask this because in many tourist destinations, you have to write the name and adress of your stay on arrival visa / card.

If I must do this. Hotel + casa particular. Then I see it quite more expensive than for example Thailand.

25- 40 CUC is aproxm same in USD. Fair enough. But its quite cheap to buy a all inclusive trip here, but then not legal to bring in the girl hmm.
