Sam, go to the viazul bus terminal. There you will find the taxi particulars. If you go alone it will run you about $50 maybe a bit less. Better to share with the cubans, but, they will try and make you pay $25 when you should only pay about $15-$20 for shared taxi.

So the next day took a Cuban taxi to Holguin for 50CUCs, got to my regular casa, took a shower, then went to eat some good food at Hectors. Good food and good prices. Also a good place to eat is 1910 near parque flores. Taxi drivers should know these places. While in Guanabo, I had an opportunity to goto a casa that changes 10cuc and another 30cuc (includes simple meals, coffee, juice). Both are very nice, and allow chicas without registration. The cheaper one was 3Cuc taxi ride from clubs and playa. Assuming I goto playa once a day and then atleast once to the club the cost adds upto 22cuc. The other one was right next to the playa, and a short walk to the clubs. I chose the later one, but it ended up being cheaper as I could goto the playa for an hour, come back home and then go again as well as goto the clubs without having to wait for taxis.

As Sammytheman said, taxi drivers are our best friends when it comes to non-pro hunting. Let's keep in mind they are doing it for money, however nice they are, cuc matters to them more than anything. So I would like to think they would rather house us in a casa that is far from the clubs, which would give them more business. In my case, the cheaper casa was shown by a friendly taxi driver, the other casa was recommended by the chica.

As far as illegal casa goes, they save money by not paying the taxes but keep in mind, in Cuba all eyes seem to watching. There is a secret police guy in every region, there is a political representative among others. If the illegal casa owner is connected to them by some means, or connected way above them, then all is well. Or else the illegal casa owner has to pay them some thing, may or may not be money, but a bottle of expensive liquor or something like that.

My stay was shorter, and I can only be happy for you bros who can stay for weeks. If I were to stay for weeks, I would bargain quite a bit. Here is the reason. I had an opportunity to see construction and understand related cost. For 500cuc one can build a nice little room and bath room with decent tiles. Add another 500 for AC and mattress and stuff to make it attractive for tourists. That is a total cost of 1000cuc. Assuming we pay 20cuc a day for one month, the total comes to 600cuc, lets say 100cuc for electricity, bribes and food, even then the owner is getting 50% returns in renting it out within 30 days.

I went to the home of one of the chicas I was banging, and had coffee with her mom (she was not bad either for a future BJ). I saw one of the rooms which was pretty rough, no roof, some of the walls were metal, mud floor and only a dog was lying there. I asked her how much it would cost to fix, and she said may be 250cuc. Just to add my. 2, I found an amazing casa in Camaguey close to caratera central that goes East towards Havana. It is maybe 5KM from discoteca Caribe. I met the owner at the viazul station. He has 2 rooms and charges 15CUCs a day! The best contacts I've made in Cuba are private taxi drivers and bicitaxi drivers.

Guys, I pains me to hear how much some of you pay for a night in a CASA. And for a casa that you and the owener have been aquatinted to have these rules and IDing the chicas. I feel I have to share this for the benefits of all who stay in casas when they are in the provinces and smaller towns (screw Havana chicas)

First let me tell you what I pay and what I get: $20cuc per night including all three meals for me and laundry. My lady doesn't check not one I'd! Read it again if you need to! She just need to see the chica before we go in. That's it! I can bring any girl as often as I want as late or early as I wish (I get house keys as well as my room's). At the end of my stay I just give her an extra something around 40cuc. I stay a minimum 3wks stay! And it goes without saying she is extremely nice and helpful with anything I need.

How you may ask, here is the answer:

- I don't go to Havana.

- The CASA is what you call an illegal one: not registered.

- I was introduced to the CASA lady by a girl she trust.

- I am a respectable person and it shows. I don't drink or do drugs or bring scandalous company back : hence easy to trust me and my judgment.

How YOU can do this!

Find a girl you like, not a pro and ask her if she knows a nice casa lady without a registration (illegal) someone who has an extra room and needs money. Just be subtle and not make it obvious you need it cause you don't want the girls be I'd'ed. Instead play it of like you want to stay for a long time and want to save money.

When you get there take it for the few hours with the chica and see if you like it and if you get a good vibe. Find out if the casa lady cooks what you like.

First off, I have only been in Cuba / SC for a week, so do not want to write like I know it all, senior bros in this forum can add more value than myself, so check with them.

Here is my two pesos.

1. It is hard to find chicas in SC as compared to a place like Guanabo. The clubs in SC are minuscule in size as compared to say Guanimar in Playa Del Este. So if you do not have patience, do not have game, and are not interested in putting some work to impress chicas, stay away from SC.

2. A lot of casas in SC, especially in the center of the city are catering to backpackers & travelling couple and so it is hard to find a casa where you can bring in a chica without registration. In SC, I saw an young couple from Japan, NewZealand, students from Columbus, OH, backpackers from UK, in Guanabo never saw anything like that, all I saw was solo guys like me or a group of friends looking for chicas. So the casas there are very much used to taxis / chicas brining in tourists and as such are ok not to register.

3. The playa is not closeby in SC and the music scene is not as good as Guanabo, so there is not a lot that can keep you going. I did listen to a group of guys playing excellant music in SC, nice experience, but it is not the reggaeton music that makes the chica grind her backs on your crouch.

If you still goto SC then find a jinetero who can take you around and introduce you to chicas. You can find them around the park, near the bici stand, and I would like to think most taxi drivers (not the ones driving offical taxi) would be able to help.

I would go back to SC in a heart beat, if I could fly direct. Living in the bay area means the best route is 2-3 stops via Mexico, and it means two things, first it takes almost full day to go and another full day to come back, second, the flight tickets are not cheap. Almost for the same price, I can goto Manila / Bangkok, yes those are long flights too, but they are non-stop and there are few advantages going there besides chicas. So I will go somewhere there for the next trip, and then visit Cuba around Christmas, at least that is the hope.
