I came back from Playa Del Este quite late, and the casa owner was awake telling me he was worried as I was to come back the previous day. Here are 2 places where I had good food, cheap food in Santa clara. The Mexican place called, Mexico Lindo Que, located on Calle Central and Calle 2nd. I think this is the address, even if it is not accurate, it is within 1 minute walk of this address. One of the two half sisters I was banging mentioned about this place as she has heard from someone and she did not where it is. We ended up asking the Bici guy to find the place and take us there. We went there, and you climb up steel ladder to an large patio type place. It does not have many seatings, just two or three benches, so probably a take out place. It was raining heavy and the place was wet all over, and the ladies there were closing the place down, and we had to hassle a bit to serve us. We waited a while, finally it was all worth it. Two sisters and I ate so much, all kinds from the menu, with refrescos, and the bill came to 100 bucks Cuban pesos, so for three of us 4 Cuc, put a 1 cuc tip for serving us even after the closing time. Good food, I will go again.

There are three local food places, I mean ones that serve cuban food. All three are in a row in Paseo a las pas and I went to one called 'Oferta de hoy'. I got a complete meal for me and the Bici guy and had a take out for midnight dinner. A complete meal is a lot, it comes with meat, rice, salad, fried plantain, boiled casava and it fills even the Bici macho guy appetite. All three meals for a total of 5 cuc.

I think these are much better than the casa owers cooking or the paladars that serve touristas. It costs cheaper, not bad quality and above all, it gave an opportunity to spend time with chicas outside of the casa where they are fun as much as in bed

I thought of doing the day trip to Trinidad, like the earlier trip to Cayo Santamaria. The taxi driver who took me was not sure his car will take the hilly route, I mean his car is a dead beat, does not even have glass in the windows, when it starts raining, he will put a black plastic cover made out of garbage bag. The guy he recommended wanted 80bucks for return, which I thought is too much. So decided to take the viazul, and bici guy took me there. I found a Viazul to goto Trinidad that day, it was only 10 or 15 cuc, but then there is no bus to come back on the same day. Trying to take a taxi for return would cost a lot as not many people are traveling in that route. As I came out and stood outside the viazul station and thinking what to do, one guy approached me and asked me whether I want to goto Havana. I said, I want to goto a playa, and he was saying goto Playa Del Este in east of Habana, and that his driver would take me there for 15cuc, the travel time 3hrs. It was around 10am, and thought I could be there by 1pm or so, and 3-4 hours in the playa and the same taxi will bring me back by 9pm for another 15cuc. So 30cuc, I could visit a new playa and be back. I said, ok and this broker guy took me to a driver with a small Renault where there were already two other passengers.

Off we go in autopista, the driver was pushing the limits and I was loving it from the front seat. There are guys standing in the middle of this highway and selling stuff, they must be brave hearts as the cars zip fast at over 70miles / hr. We had a pit stop in a gas station, and made friends with other two passengers, both are students from Argentina studying medicine in Cuba, and they are getting the education at no tuition fees, go figure. They are of no use, and so I ask the driver about the action around the playa, he does not know, I push him to call his friends and find out, and he says no dinero credit in his mobile phone to make calls. I tell him that I would pay few Cucs more, the guy takes his phone and makes calls, like magically there is dinero credit that came to his phone. He says I should goto Taramar club.

Anything more I write would not apply to Santa Clara forum, so I will post in Havana, actually Guanabo section. In short, it was a good trip, I ended up staying there overnight in a casa for 20cuc, went to few bars / clubs, did a chica. 19years semi-pro mulata all holes for 40, and then in the morning her friend who , a blanca 18years for 30, another 15-20 cucs for drinks and food.

The mulata arranged a taxi for me to goto Havana bus station to get my ride back to Santa Clara. I was in the playa near Melia Las Dunas, and the security guy pulled me, when I went to the beach which is a bit far from Melia Buena Vista, no one bothered.

You also brought up an interesting point. Playa Santamaria near Guanabo was a riot act on weekends, the playa is so so as compared to the cayo, but the people were all cubans, and there is a possibility to score as compared to all tourist cayo playas.
