Good point. In fact the best exchange rate was the canadian dollar when I was down there. I can't remember the exact amount, hopefully there is someone down there that can give it to us.

In havana there are different kinds of taxis:
1: Panataxi usually for tourists and expensive, I would use them at night due to security.
2: Illegal taxis, ordinary people who use their private cars as taxis but pay no taxes, especially in the area close to the capitolio, hotel inglaterra, usually much cheaper than panataxis.
3: Taxis collectivos usually just for cubans and it is forbidden for tourists, but most of cabdriver are cool and they charge you the same amount of money as cubans. With taxis collectivos you can get to all the different parts of the city for almost no money (vedado, miramar, la vibora. cerro, la lisa) you just wave at the driver and he will pull over and ask you where you want to you, usually they have a sign in the frontwindow which says taxi.
In the center don't talk to people who approach you, male, and female, because they only want to rip you off. They say "I know a good bar, lets go there", and they order drinks, usually mojitos, and you pay the bill and a mojito usually is for 4 cuc at those places. In general avoid people who want to sell you stuff ( rum, cigars, etc.) in the streets, buy milk for their babies, or people who say hola amigo de donde es usted bla bla bla. They just want to get as much money as possible from you.

I just got back from Cuba and stayed with my regular girl in Santiago. Again, this was not a mongering trip but here is some useful info. for the newbies.
If you bring in usd to exchange, you have the automatic 10% off the top, and the exchange rate of 8.9. In other words just about 19% for the exchange from usd to pesos. I used the transcard to avoid the 10% fee.
One of the best food values in Havana is El Aljibe. For $12.00 all the chicken, rice, beans and salads you can eat.
In Santiago, I finally got an honest cab driver. If anyone wants his information, please e-mail me.

Misterxtc,
Based on my experience you won't have to ask them for sex. They will bring up the subject first. For example, if a girl you just met wants to know if you are staying in a casa particular, this is usually a good sign. Then they usually say "we go to the house". Personally I would be embarrassed to ask a girl for sex even in a poor country like Cuba. That's why i'm glad that I have never had to ask.

Posts: 62Q: how to pick up girls???
Don't worry about this. All girls in Cuba are at least semi-pros. Sex is viewed a lot differently here.

I was just wondering, with all of the reports here, what is actual conversation that leads to getting these women into bed - that is, who mentions the money for sex thing - I would feel like an ass if I found a nice chick and she wasn't a pro.
This is particularly true for picking up cute hitchikers. Do you steer the conversation towards sex, or wait for the girl to ask if you are interested?

Posts: 479Fido....Everytown is a Good Town
Fido,
Speaking from experience, I prefer the smaller town out of Havana. On my trip last year, I met two sister that I picked up as I was leaving Las Tunas around the circle. I was on my way to Santiago via Bayamo. Well, I never made it to Santiago or Bayamo as these two sisters would not take NO for an answer. I ended spending the rest of the day and night with both of them. That night I met two other lovely from the same campo as them. Great, great time. I also met another Lovely who not let me go in Florida, Camaguey. This is a small town between Ciego de Avila and Camaguey.
BTW, 3 years ago I met this real hot cutie in Cienfuego who almost made my dick come off because of all the sessions we had.

Hi,
I'm doing a report for Spanish class about jineteras. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out by answering some questions for me as well as give me some first-hand accounts. Anyone interested please PM me.

Polito, you write that you are often in small towns instead of Havana.
I have been twice in Havana and once in Cienfuegos. I speak resonable Spanish.
I found the situation in Cienfuegos pretty bad. Grils were very scared.
Maybe if one is more experienced then me one can have a good time there in Cienfuegos. But I didn't like it there.
What do you think are the best towns in Cuba for the hobby/GFE beside Havana and Santiago. Camaguey? Hogluin? Baracoa? Barnes?
Your opinion would be appreciated.
