Does TAV allow its clients to consume their own alcohol in their rooms? (does TAV threaten you with being blacklisted, with the use of, what amounts to spies to rat on you, if you consume certain alcohol in your room?)
Has TAV been involved with a kind of raffle for people serving in a place like Iraq, with the winner getting a free stay, and then TAV not honoring that free stay?

I just got back from my third visit and must say this is the best way to go.
I have travelled both sides of the island and have had great times and bad times.
I went to ts and ended up in a hotel with kids jumping in the pool while I was with my chica.
The food was horrible. I went walking on the beach and met a friend of mine from the past. He was sitting on a deck with two beautiful chicas.
After talking with me I was introduced to the owner Al who was very friendly. I extended my stay for a few days and moved to TAV and it was the best move yet.
Wait to you see the chicas, WOW.
I have never posted good or bad about a place until now. I found HOME.

Looking for a nice hotel / resort in Juan dolio to stay with my DR princess. Something not too expensive, clean with good customer service, hotel pool (all inclusive or non) , queen / king bed with ocean view. Any help out there would be much appreciated.
Later,
Kris

In the back of my mind, wanting a return trip to Thailand now, before I return to the wild west or somewhere else in latin america.
Always Columbia to try another place that attracts me is Acupulco in Mexico.
[QUOTE=Longhardlook; 1299127]Hello SirMarjAlot.
I have been absent for a while from here but have just read this one, and am about to read your other postings on the D Republic which I very much look forward to.
Good you made the trip and as regular visitors to Pattaya (Thailand) in the past, I'm sure Boca Chica left you with the same mixed feelings as me. Strong stuff, just like my very first impression of Pattaya with walking street and the Marine bar disco. Okay totally different places, but take the Pattaya go-go bars away and both have that same bit of the wild west feeling about the place.
However, after further reflection many months afterwards, whilst I still felt those same similarities with Boca Chica and Pattaya, it suddenly occurred to me that in Thailand 'Pimp' problems are very rare because you never see them. The men are always kept out of sight. Also for the money you pay, the the actual gf experience you get in Pattaya (or the rest of Thailand for that matter) is probably unequaled anywhere else in the mongering world.
But despite the annoying male street touts who seem to be everywhere, where anyone can walk in Boca chica, and those Boca Chica street girls always in your face whether it is on the street, or on the beach, or even in a packed restaurant while trying to go through my pockets which happened to me a couple of times, I see this scruffy dirty little beach resort as challenge, something that needs taming, with the odd stunningly beautiful Chica appearing out of the mist rewarding my efforts.
Remember Bo Dereck from the film '10', well that's my memory of the piano bar with one of the best blow jobs I had over there. If this lighter skinned girl with the beaded hair is still around I strongly recommend her.
When I do return I will be much more prepared than before.
Regards.

[QUOTE=SirMarjAlot; 1269469]Boca Chica Trip Report Summary.
Sure enough hustlers were hitting on me every step of the way.
When its over I give her 500 pesos. She wants 1000 pesos. I tell her to get out, she then picks up a beer bottle. I ring the security guard who comes up to my room. In the end I give her another 200 pesos and she leaves. Boca chica is proving challenging.

The rooms were in good repair, a / see worked, water was hot, no staff issues. The manager, Karl, was a helpful and nice guy. They will pick / drop you at the airport for $25 (if I remember correctly) if you give them a call. I believe we paid $35 / night. Good security and no chica fees. Cedulla is required).
Maybe a 10 minute walk to Duarte and the beach area and fairly close to a couple casas (One was called 'Playboy' something and the other 'The Candy Shop'). A few locks away on Juan Bautista Vicini was another, ' Casa Iraisa). The casa's all started around 3000DOP and more for s. T. I didn't take anyone from any of them, so I don't know what sort of deal you can work.

I realize I am in the DR and they have issues with hot water and that is fine, but no running water is unacceptable.
Many times during my stay I could not shower or even flush the toilet, and the staff was useless.
The towels have a horrible residue on them, which didn't seem to be properly rinsed or dried, just not the right feel.
The staff is a bunch of thieves and stole $500 from me and the manager basically blamed me for it, which is partially right since I let it happen.
This place is no where near the strip and some maps of the area is confusing or misleading.

[QUOTE=OldKool; 1283542]Bus to boca chica 3 dollars. Cab 35 to 50. SD to air port is $35 BC is 15 miles futher do the math. I have learned to use all the local transport. It saves money and is fun. The Buses are excellent on time and comfortable. To BC you have some other options that varey I comfort but are reliable. I tend to be tight with my cash. I will pay 50 dollars for a cab. When I can use a 7 dollar bus.
[There is a guagua (Domincan for any kind of bus) that leaves from Santo Doming abut every 15 minutes. Don't know the exact address, but it is about three blocks from the Plaza Lama store. Ask any taxi for "Guagua a Boca Chica." It costs less than three dollars and is pretty much non stop until it gets near BC. Going in the other direction, these are the same buses that you see stopping at the park in BC. Going to SD you may have to transfer to a different guagua a few miles down the main highway. They are air conditioned, cheap, and pretty quick.
Incidentally, a trick for taxis from the airport that works in lots of countries: Go upstairs to departures, walk outside, and negotiate with a driver who is leaving people off. You should be able to get a car for half the tourist rate you are quoted downstairs. Some drivers are not authorized to make airport pickups. Others just don't want to sit around waiting for a fare.
