Yes, the girl was trying to run a scam on you, but that is at least partly the result of you trying to pay her an unreasonably low rate in the first place. 1000 pesos will buy very little in the DR and yet you willingly spent an extra 1000 pesos so you could ride from Santo Domingo to Boca Chica in a taxi.

You are making the same mistake that so many Americans make. Having learned in business school that you strike a deal and then use law enforcement to enforce the deal, you think that the same principles can be used overseas. However when you hire a girl for sex this is not a business-to-business transaction as you understand it. Wow it doesn't sound very good at all in Boca Chica, Fuck I just booked a flight to Santo Domingo was going to spend a weekend in Boca Chica, now I'm having second thoughts. Are things really that bad in Boca Chica, have you tried any of the casas there yet? What hotel would you recomend there for mongering? Is the Europa Hotel still open.

On another note I'm leaving Sunday for Thailand, Bangkok first then Pattaya, pm me wth any advise you may have for mongering there. I enjoyed you daily routine post from there. You did not seem to get the heat on that board that you received here.

Up at 9:30am, yes, for those of you following my adventures, that is only 5 hours of sleep. Pack real quick. Check out. Two of my buddies see me off. I go across the street and pay 200p for a one way ticket from Sosua to Boca Chica. Get to the bus station in Santo Domingo and catch a taxi to my hotel. The driver wanted 1500p, I said, how about 1000p? He said 1400. I'm tired, so I say, lets go. Get to my hotel, I had a room resterved, settle in. It's almost 4pm. I head out and went to the park. "Airport to town ride is about $25-30, no way to get around it, just like Sosua. I booked a room at Hotel Zapata, and think this was a good choice overall, and a good place for a first timer in BC. The owner, Roberto, is a relatively young guy, around mid-30's to early 40's and is a licensed attorney in the DR. He is a wealth of good information, too. The Zapata is a very decent hotel although there are some minor restrictions to mongering activities. The chicas cannot join you at the bar and if you keep them TLN they must be out by 7:30 am or you have to pay an addtional small fee. Around 10 bucks, I think. Basically, the chicas have to go straight to your room and straight out, no loitering. There is excellent security at the hotel, day and night, and the girls have to have legit cedulas, which is good for everyone, as you will see in my report."

Some years ago I took a cab from sdq airport to boca chica I was talking to the driver in my best spanish, I asked him how much to BC and he said 25 bucks, So real fast I said cono man mucho dinero.
