    Update

My last trip to boca chica was in 2006. During my week there I picked up about 12-15 girls for about an hour or two of full service I was paying 500-1000 pesos. Has this changed? What is the going rate at this time? Any info would be greatly appriciated, thanks, B-wood.

My fault did not relize both ways-thought prices were economical to Santo Domingo but thought I would pick him up for that! LOL

$34 for round trip is not a bad price, most taxi's will want $40-$45. all private transportation services are overpriced in the dr.
thats going from sdq to malecon / pasture in santo 1400 dop/$37 not to boca chica which is less than half the difference. 17 bucks or 700dop to cut out the rounding.

my biggest pet peeve about mongers is arguing over a couple of dollars. i have set rates in 100 dop increments inclusive of propina. if you don't want to take my offer, i go to the next dominican.

Took me right to the hotel and picked me up on time to go back to the airport when I went home. Professional and no issues. When you book with them they will ask your flight information and will monitor it so they are there when you are there. There is a possibility that they might have to wait on other passengers on the day you go so it might be a minor inconvenience but that doesn't bother me when I arrive. Can't remember the exact price I paid but it was about 1/2 of the taxi. Hope this helps.

Thanks, you were the first guy to post info about A2B and since then several ISG members have saved money by using A2B.

Welcome to the DR. First few times I used banks here I was astonished at how clerks would ignore customers and chat to colleagues or any friends or families who happened to drop in. And God help you if the family photos come out, you will be in for a long wait.

That is bullshit. Did you have your passport? If so, I would have made a real scene until senior management came out to sort it. And I am a very quiet guy whose normal advice is "bite your lip and walk away".
I was in the Retiros line to start with. The desk set-up was take a number and wait on a chair. Of course I had my passport and also a number of withdrawal slips from Banco Popular in Boca Chica to show I had done the same thing there. The phone call was presumably to some higher authority than existed in that branch.

Do you recommend some cheap place to eat seafood or any restaurant in boca chica? Thanks.
You could go local, take a motoconho (motorcycle taxi) to the highway near the airport, about a two minute drive and then wait on the side of the highway for a gua gua (minibus or van). I have read that gua guas pass by the airport terminal, I have no clue with what regularity they pass by the airport terminal.

Several ISG members have used A2B Transfers, comfortable air conditioned vehicles, you can probably book a shared transfer from Las Americas Airport (sdq) to Boca Chica, online at their website: http://www.a2btransfers.com/

It really depends on the gringo. The easiest way to avoid a ripoff is to call a taxi. Somebody should list the phone numbers of Lino, Apollo, Aero, etc. You can even call more than one to compare but that's not usually necessary. A good rule of thumb is anything within the city limits. Especially if you aren't going to cross the river. Should be no more than 200 pesos. That price may shock some because it is not unusual for taxistas to ask for 1, 000 pesos off the street for a 150 peso fare. The taxi you call will show up within no more than 5 minutes because the dispatcher puts out a radio call and the closest waiting taxi will respond. You should ask the dispatcher for the 'tarifa' so you know what to pay in advance. Also, don't be shy about getting somebody you can trust to make the call for you. Watch out for the taxista making a deal with the caller to hike up your fare and split the difference.

    Have fun!
