I was in Boca Chica July 23-27, paid for Coral Hamaca, but was full, got "bumped" to Don Juan beach resort. Third day of the trip and I am very anxious to go to Puerto Plata. After all the reports, pics, and just checking out the website, I felt that I couldn’t go wrong. I was living out of my suitcase since I got there so I didn’t have too much packing to do. I went out for breakfast and met one of my boys out there. We ate and then went upstairs to see what’s up with the other half of us was doing. One was still sleeping. We were trying to get up and go kinda early so that we can get to the other side of the Island sometime in the afternoon. So he got up and started to pack.

We checked out the last person and he was kinda sick. He said that he didn’t want to leave at that time because he just wasn’t feeling right. He took some Pepto but he still felt the same. So we said that we would wait a few hours and see how he feeling then. A few hours pass (well more then a few hours) and he said that he was feeling better. We ended up leaving BC at about 4:00 pm.

We get to Cabre Tours at about 4:40. There was a lot of traffic due to the election coming up. Lots of parades, music, and honking horns. The bus came at 5:00 on the dot. We got on the bus and off we went. The bus ride wasn’t bad at all. Well I can say that because I wasn’t trying to sight see. I put my walkman on an went right to sleep. By the time I woke up it was very dark outside and I really could not see anything.

Hurricane season is just that, like winter, summer etc. I wouldn't postpone a trip because of that. There is no guarantee that one will happen.Or even a tropical storm, so if you want to go ,GO!The temps don't vary a whole lot from June thru October so you really won't escape the humidity. But who cares? you just wear less clothing !
