Thanks so much. Would you recommend making the rounds like and checking out various spots or focusing on one area in particular for my first venture. I do have about 2 weeks and would like to experience the flavor but also don't want to appear to be so out of place. I do have a pretty decent grasp of Spanish, nearly fluent, so I am hoping that will account for something. Man, I did invest quite some time reading up and that is what was steering me towards bringing gifts versus tips. I believe it was GrownMan1 that had a substantial amount of information on that with money saving techniques. Maybe I was wrong. A few more questions that I am hoping I could trouble you with. As far as areas are concerned, which ones have the highest caliber women and what areas tend to be the bottom of the barrel. Certainly some areas must be relegated to those one would consider trashy, low class, or not even worth the time. You also mentioned something about the chicas wanting money to support their drug habit, how prevalent is that in the scene? Lastly, would a person such as myself be a target for police harassment or do they usually leave tourists alone and instead focus on the women? If you do not want to use condoms, you will find plenty of chicas who will agree. The more professional ones may use it as a reason to charge more. Local girls rarely use condoms with their boyfriends and I have fucked plenty of semi-pros and non-pros without condoms.

There is no way whatever you can guarantee that any woman willing to have sex with a stranger is "clean". Yes I chose to let him learn the hard way. But not too hard. If solo is your thing Kool I do it sometimes. After much thought, and a great deal of advice, BC is no longer on my itinerary. At the moment it's SD, Santiago and Sosua, with a possible stop at Blackbeard's, if I can squeeze in the time.

Wondering if anyone has any newbie advice such as negotiation techniques, places to go, quality of women, et cetera. There are a lot of other diseases which are more common and easier to catch, and will fuck up you life and maybe those of your loved ones, or your career or bank balance.

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, you may not want to have unprotected sex with any woman who is willing to have unprotected sex with you.

You have asked for others' experiences. This is silly. I have been living here for nearly six years and had long trips here for three years before that. I have fucked a hundred or so chicas bareback. I am old and have health problems but none of them sex-related. But no way would I recommend anyone else to do it, especially a younger guy or someone with responsibilities.

The reason I said it is silly, is that anyone who has caught something serious is unlikely to admit it here. Indeed they will probably no longer be members here.

That is rubbish. Chicas want money, either to support their families or a drug habit. If you give gifts as well they will of course eagerly accept them, but they will still expect the same payment. If you have an ongoing "relationship" it can sweeten things to give little gifts like cheap underwear or costume jewellery, but not save money. If a one-time trick they will just think you are a sucker. And any worthwhile presents will be sold at the first opportunity for a fraction of their market value.

And tipping is not expected. Just 50 to 100 pesos to cover their moto fares home or back to wherever they were working.

If the chica gives service over and above the norm, by all means pay her extra. That is only fair. But she will appreciate 500 pesos cash more than a 1500 peso dress. And if you do give the dress, she will likely sell it for 200 pesos next day or give it to a sister who has even less than her.

I can arrive like a seasoned pro.

This ain't going to happen. As a newbie you will have the mark of Cain on your forehead. You will be relentlessly targeted. You will make mistakes. You will get conned. Just try to restrict the damage and learn by experience.

Very important: how much Spanish do you have? If none, or minimal, I would strongly recommend you spend your first trip at Blackbeards. You can use it as a base to visit Sosua, Puerto Plata, etc, with a view to subsequent trips. I recently "entertained" an acquaintance from England who spoke no Spanish. He has made many trips to Thailand so I thought he could cope. Boy, was I wrong! With no Spanish he was a fish out of water. He made me miserable and my friends soon tired of trying to help him. Finally I persuaded him to stay at Blackbeards for his final five days of the fourteen. He was happy as a sandboy there and starting blaming me because he hadn't spent the whole trip there. Granted, he was a bit weird and with no street-smarts, but he wasted a hell of a lot of money trying to do the wrong sort of holiday for the first nine days.

Your second and subsequent trips will be better organized and more cost-effective, but nothing beats the magic of the first, fuck-ups notwithstanding.

Final advice: start thinking in pesos NOW. Apart from your airfare and maybe hotel room, pay and calculate prices in your head in pesos. Get familiar with conversion rates NOW. If someone quotes you in dollars, ask them the price in pesos. Paying dollars will cost you a lot extra over two weeks. The locals are bad at math and cannot be expected to keep up with shifting exchange rates, so they will round up dollar prices to be on the safe side. A chica might be more than happy to go wiith you for 1500 pesos (about US $33.70), but if you want to pay in dollars she will demand UDS $40 or US $50. Same for taxis and restaurants.

I am surprised than a veteran like you would have been involved in an incident like that. The scam is pretty common in BC and I have witnessed it in two occasions. Usually the victims are wandering about, staring at girls, not walking with a purpose, but rather acting like marks. Many flash large amounts of hard currency when paying the bill and then walk away without realizing that they may be followed by thieves looking for an opportunity. Recently a guy was attacked by two girls near the Bank of Reserves and lost thousands of euros. Also two Canadians were followed to the Villa Mariana and at gunpoint stripped of their belongings. I realize that your friend was nave and this is why I rather be by myself not having to suffer the consequences of idiotic actions by fellow mongers.

Every since the closing of the Club Batey BC has been hurting. The Batey bought out chicas from local cities SD San Predro LR who were down with pay for play but refused to walk up and down the strip like an average street hooker. If BC is not your normal hood. You can quickly get into an argument or a fight with girls from that area. Street Chica can be very territorial. Going to in club is not the same. Batey is the only socially respected Club on the strip. Imagine if all the clubs were close in Sosua and the only thing the Chica can do is walk up and down the strip. A lot of Chica will refuse to do so. What you will have left are the hardcore freelancers and hardcore locals. Since the closing of the Batey on the weekend all you have is the Haitian that were not cute enough or resourceful enough to go to Sosua. Its not a good site if you are Fresh from Sosua.

Thanks GM! This explains why I had such a bad experience in BC. However, the SDQ airport being so close is a big plus for them.

I stand corrected the Ole is not considered in Andres / BC area but La Caleta. In my two and a half years of going to Boca Chica I've never heard the area being called Caleta. Ty Yonkers44 and BQribs for the correction.

Caleta in Spanish means small inlet and is the area were the airport is located. Most of the people live in the North side of the road behind the Ole. Paco's bordello is there, very nice, worth a visit. He also runs Tropical Adult Vacations in Bocachica. Many people from the area will tell you they are from Andres because they figure you don't know the place. If you need to re-program your car computer or get paint that matches your vehicle, you will directed to business there. By the way, The Batey re-opened the 24th, so things are back to normal.
