Yes, I'm booked into something similar to Blackbeard's. There are a few places offering roughly the same thing in BC. I had a few reasons for choosing BC, convenient flight connections, close to the capitol for a sightseeing trip. I spent a few months looking at the options, before making a choice. I chose Club Fantasy Island in BC. It doesn't appear to be a scheme of any sort. The place has been around for 4 years, with the same owner, at the same location. I've read reports from the place from a wide range of people, over a fairly long time period. I've even had quite a few conversations with several past visitors. All reports are that the place is clean and well maintained, with a decent on-site restaurant. All food and drink, for 2 people, is included, and I didn't have to pay a big deposit. I get a free ride from the airport and if everything is not as promised, I can walk away, head to Garant or Villa Capri and go the traditional route, without risking a dollar.

Granted, it could be an elaborate setup, involving 20 to 30 people (or 2 to 3 people, good enough at pretending to fool a long time cynic), hoping to scam me out of a few grand, but I feel confident in my choice. My own opinion, based solely on my research, is that it should be on about the same level as Blackbeard's. My trip is still some time off, but I will be happy to report on the experience afterwards.

I am almost 60 year old gentle guy but let me be clear. You are fucking up from the jump. Staying at a AI for mongers is a waste of time and money. They will not let you bring women in unless you pay big fees. BC generaly hAS very little to offer. The beach, touts and general setting leaves a lot to be desired. The women are what you make of them. Be cautious the ladies can eat you a live if you are not careful. I think based on your comments you could be low hanging fruit. So far you have chosen a bad place to monger and the AI makes it more expensive. You seem like the guy who go to a steak house looking for good seafood.

That's why I will be staying at an AI / CI (Chica included). I might be "low hanging fruit" if was trying to find my own talent, but that part is out of the equation. Figuring costs, I will be spending between $150-$200 extra per day, which for me is worth the money to avoid the hassle of having to constantly search for the next chica.

Perhaps my definition needs refined, but I don't consider what I'm looking for as mongering. I'm not looking for a different chica every night, with an extra one or two thrown in every day. Ideally I'd like to spend my time with 1 or 2 different chicas. Someone I can get comfortable with and enjoy without any pretense of a commitment.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm just different in my approach, because my goals are different. I'm well aware of the reputation BC has, but it works for me this time. Perhaps my next trip I will see the error of my ways and go elsewhere with a different plan.

There is ambiguity over what is meant by "AI".

Normally it means a hotel for couples and families where food and local drinks are included in the price. Not normally of of interest to guys who are in the DR only or mainly to monger as you would have to pay a stiff price to bring chicas into the hotel, and many times it would not be possible at all. You would also be vulnerable to chicas "blackmailing" you by making "scenes'.

A few years ago I met a guy who was staying in Playa Dorada, an all AI hotel complex. He had paid a lot of money to bring in two chicas he had met on the internet. After the first day they were living the high life on his account while he was almost terrified to return to his room and confront them, but was equally scared to leave them to it and go off to Sosua for fear of what expenses or scandal he would return to. All this because he did not want to deal with free-lance chicas in Sosua.

Very occasionally staying in this sort of an AI can be viable if you have got such a good flight+hotel package you save all the extra money you will paying for taxis and short-time room hire. You do miss the benefits of hanging with other mongers for the social life and learning the ropes.

The other meaning of "AI" is a hotel where sex is included as part of a package deal. Many guys find this ideal. Blackbeards is generally considered the best example of this. Reasonably priced and consistent service.

It seems that jjbee has booked into a scheme like this in the BC area. I think he is taking a big risk. Many opportunists and downright con-men offer hotel and chicas packages. All they do is provide the same hotels and chicas you could find for yourself and double the prices. You are restricted in your options and at worst they might conspire with the chicas, and possibly bent police and lawyers (no rarity in the DR) to scam you.

From his post he seems not streetwise and an easy target. No shame in that, we all have to start somewhere, but in that case, why choose Boca Chica? It is the most squalid dump in the DR. Some guys have a good time there but they know how to look after themselves while enjoying its sleazy charms. jjbee is clearly not in that category.

Without jjbee providing enough further information to reassure us he is doing something sensible, I strongly advise him to rethink and book into Blackbeards instead.

I'm heading to BC soon for my first experience. Let me clarify, my first DR experience. Years ago I did the SW scene, all over the US, with a few visits to Tijuana. I've done the escorts and have been to my share of massage parlors. The most common result was disappointment.

I'm not really the type to find it, tap it, kick it out the door. It takes me awhile to find my comfort zone and most pros want to get it over and move to the next. Other than an AMP in the states, long since closed, a MP and an escort in Toronto, the other times have been letdowns.

For years I used the internet, chat rooms, dating sites and had lots of great times. But now I've reached the age where they either want a husband or a sugar daddy. So I decided to go the AI / CI route.

I know the hardcore players and mongers tend to look down on this. I know I could get by for half the price and get more chicas. And I know I could go the DC route and find what I want, and still save money. But I think there are advantages for me at an AI / CI. I don't have to worry about arguments over price and service, I don't have to worry about coming out of the shower to find the chica has tipped herself and cut the stay short and I don't have to wade through a bunch of quickies to find a real GFE. For those of you who enjoy the hunt, I tip my hat to you, but I just want to relax and have a laid-back, while getting laid, vacation.

With all that in mind, does anyone have advice, or experience to share about the AI / CI places in BC? Or advice about BC in general (other than that it's a shithole and the armpit of the DR)?

With the closing of the Batey in BC the people have no direction. The Batey has always been the go to spot for everyone after 1 am. Now people just walk up and down the strip with no direction. The piano bar offers a place to chill but its so small even with the help of the new bars across them it. The area is boring and lacks substances. There are a lot of hatiana here.

They ought to shut down the entire town, it's a shit hole!

What you are saying is true. However after being late in the strip I have to say that the closing of the Batey has brought far more vitality to the Duarte. The Colmados are rocking, everybody closes well past the usual time and tourist money is more widely distributed. Those girls that look down at the ones that walk the Duarte will have to adapt or find another town to sell their charms. I won't miss them. Arrogant, conceited, overpriced until 4 AM and then realize that they are going home without money for lodging or food.

I personally have seen that security does not request ID's from questionable young things so it does not come as a surprise. Patrons and working girls were walking up and down the Duarte seemingly disoriented. It remains to be seem if business as the Criolla, Jo Mi disco, Tentaciones and the soon too reopen Piano Bar take advantage of the situation and by offering specials or reducing prices to the Batey level, create a palatable alternative. I,knowing the lack of imagination and business acumen of the 3 owners, Italian and Dominican, doubt it very much. These people don't understand a price war and giving freebies is alien to then. Time will tell. The high season is starting to fade but still there are nice talent to be found.

My advice is to feel the chica out or interview her over a few drinks before bringing her to the hotel.

Many people agree that it is better to give them the money when they are leaving and while outside of your room in case they decide to start any shit.
