Posts: 13Looking for chica friendly hotels in Cabarete
Hey everyone,
So I'm coming back for round 2 and want to stay in Cabarete. My game is the dating apps more so than picking up chicas. I like Cabaretes bar scene much more by the beach. Anybody have good recommendations for the best hotels (even inclusive) that allow guests? I have my spot in Sosua but I feel like they might be harsher in Cabarete and I will be forced to have my home base / a side base to bring a chica to.

Is there a bar or location in Cabarete where girls hang out? There used to be a bar or two upstairs on the main drag (not the beach side) with one or two girls. But sometimes they are not open. Is there a favorite bar for girls looking for work? I mean, without going down to Sosua.

OMG I was talking Jeymely for a few days. When I tried to bargain a price she was pissed. She asked for 4000 which based on my research was way too much. She got pissed. Dodged a bullet there!

Spent 6 nights there. Had only partied one night, but had never spent the night before.
I had women come up from Sosua. All of them were ok with using local public transportation. F using expensive taxis / ubers.
The chicas I had come up were all pretty lame compared to my Puerto Plata gems. One was ill mannered (had met her previously in Puerto Plata and it wasnt bad). Taking her out in public was my mistake. I ejected her after dinner. Another pair (FB) were ok but just weak sauce in bed. A third came up from Sosua that I also met at a pool party I had in Puerto Plata. She was actually pretty cool and had a good sex drive.
I met one local chica from Tinder. Jeymely. She was 21. Very friendly girl with some decent English. But when it came down to business, she was super apprehensive and squirmish and expected money up front. No way, Jose. Ended up just getting a GREAT BBBJCIM (to her surprise) from her. Ha! Oh and she has some crazy tattoos. One on her forehead. Couldn't see that in the tinder pictures!
Chicas that performed all got 3 K except for the one good one that got 3. 5 K.
The nightlife scene in Cabarete is trash. You have Arriba and the'Pepe. Both are upstairs bars that are quite big. The'Pepe has rip off prices for cocktails and zero talent. Arriba is a bit better but only on the weekends. I played some pool with a few working girls but they were super rough in appearance. A few others float around on the street below but I didn't see anything I would partake. All were Hatian. One was even pregnant.
Ojos does have a good mix of people and a number of women come up from Sosua to party there. But it is hot AF in that place.
Food picks.
Mojito bar for the salads.
Ula for steaks.
Kahuna for their tacos. And no, I didn't see any chicas floating around this bar at all.
Oh and if you need to take a bus from Cabarete to Nagua or Las Terrenas. It leaves at 2 pm at the bus stop across from Janets Supermarket. Almost a 4 hour trip to Las Terrenas. 500 DOP.
Taco.

50 pesos is still the rate for publicos I use them last month. For day time travel is very reliable. I try not to drive in foreign countries. Mistakes are magnified greatly.

However, if you take a 'publico', with a half-dozen or so other people, it is peanuts. I was last there last in 2016 and it was less than $5 (I think 100 pesos) one way to / from Sosua. You might also be able to hop a guagua.
Maybe things have changed and my information is out of date. I do concur with your advice to get a car, just be sure to be insured and be very careful of the nutjobs on the moto. Make damn sure your side is clear before changing lanes.

Nearly everything is negociable in the DR. The three factors you need to consider are your amount of luggage, your risk tolerance, and your fluency in Spanish. If I come back I will not be over packing. If you're bringing your kite surfing equipment then you're going to need an airport taxi or even a minivan. If you're more of a lonely planet type traveler then you could get away with a taxi with a more ramshackle taxi or one of the bus services either a higher end bus like Caribbean Express or a simple Guagua. Here is the Rob, you can't really negotiate or even know that you're on the right bus if you don't speak Spanish. Don't change money inside the airport, they will short you about 10 pesos to the dollar. Outside you'll get closer to market rate. Would suggest possibly having a 20 and then a ten and another $20 in $5 bills then you can pull them out of various pockets as you negotiate.
